The Negaverse General stood atop a swing set, balanced precariously on the bar. She made it look as cool and effortless as possible, though. All she wanted to do was just that: look as awesome as possible at all times. If she had the confidence to fake it, she could easily make it real with practice and experience.
So she might not be the most graceful, but now that she felt comfortable in her physical strength, she turned her training toward agility. Grace was something befitting of a villain, particularly one that wanted to be intimidating.
At the moment, though, it wasn't he own training she was focusing on.
She had given Benitoite the simple order to attack her. However he saw fit, whenever he saw fit. He could plan or plot or rush at her, or do anything he wanted.
When he told her he wanted to have more physical training, get stronger, she was all too happy to oblige. She gave him a when and a where, and those orders. Vague as they were. But at least she wasn't running or hiding herself. She was standing where he could see him, just waiting, not quite sure what to expect.
She hummed softly as she waited.

He couldn't hide his weaknesses and faults, not from those he considered close. Those who were a part of the negaverse. It was Painite whom he'd called when he'd been hiding from police, after a a scouting mission had gone terribly wrong. It had been simple enough, observe the new art gallery and take notes on everything and decide how best to attack. He'd told Painite of his plans to watch the place even, and why not? He planned to ask her to help him carry out whatever plans he came up with, and improve upon them as she was a master with traps.
That plan however had changed when he'd seen a senshi looking into the gallery window. He couldn't help it, he'd had to throw that rock and go along with the battle. If he'd known he'd go through the gallery window he may not have allowed the fight to last so long and fled. But he'd been clueless, he also didn't know just how much glass piercing ones side hurt or the stitches that accompanied it. But he knew that now and with Painite's help he'd gotten to the hospital to get sewn up.
Then had come the insanity at the local pool, he'd been all too lucky no senshi had left the group and gone looking for his closer signature. He'd have been clueless to them approaching till it was too late, the nerves he'd felt racing through him that day had shaken him up enough to realize he needed to not just plan tot rain and not keep mentally telling himself he'd talk to Painite and.or Fluorite about training. But he had to do it!
So he had, he'd spoken to her about seriously training, once the stitches were out. He didn't want to pull them, or in some way leave some sign for the doctor to see that he'd been doing more than he'd been told to. Perhaps he was a goodie goodie like that other agent had called him all those nights back. Either way he figured all his good behavior, as a civilian, kept people from thinking anything suspicious of him.
With the information, vague as anything from Painite was, he'd decided to just go right for a direct approach. It was too open of an area to really try a sneak attack, or at least that was his opinion. He'd decided that while the doctor had been removing his stitches earlier today.
With those gone and powered up he was hiding in the bushes observing his General, for the moment. Thinking about her willingness to help him, the concern in her voice when he'd told her he was trapped close in at the pool, and the general care he got from her felt a certain warmth. He didn't get it around people often, but he found he had it with her and Fluorite as well, and he'd wanted to comfort Alunite knowing his questions were upsetting. They were close, friends...family maybe even?
Pushing his thoughts aside, else they'd get in the way and distract him, he finally came out of the bushes as fast as he could and went right for her, launching himself into the air at her.
Yes, this was another way of her showing she cared for him, for his well being, and her want for him and the negaverse to succeed.
He didn't have a fist aimed for her, and certainly not a foot. He didn't think he could jump that high and aim his foot at her, Jackie Chang he was not. No, he was aiming to tackle and knock her off her perch. He knew why she'd chosen the spot but it put her in a rather precarious position, didn't it? Having to balance like that?

Painite felt her Lieutenant's energy signature as he approached her. She smiled, but didn't turn toward him or call her weapon. She wanted to see what he could, after all, and stabbing him probably wasn't the way to do that.
She really didn't want to actually hurt him, so the stabbing tactic was out. That did not mean, however, that she wouldn't give him a run for his money. She certainly wasn't even considering letting him win.
The lesson was important: how he learned it just as much so. And she wanted him to remember everything he learned from her.
Training had always been important to her. She spent a lot of time training on her own, whenever she could, practicing everything she could think of to practice, with gizmos and set ups to help her. She had Hiro to thank for her early training, as well, and her own Captain had taught her many things. She was still learning, though, and told herself she would never stop, even if she was a General now.
That just meant she was more capable of helping others, as well as herself.
She leaped when he got close enough to tackling her, having plenty of time to sit and wait for his first attack. So she did a little twirl in the air and landed on her feet, her stance wide until she collected herself into the same kind of pose she had taken at the top of the swings, grinning at him.
"There you are, Benitoite! I was wondering when you might get here, so we can begin. Oh. Have we already begun?" She taunted him lightly, but motioned for him to attack her head on. "Use your weapon. Let me see how you make it work for you."

Stabbing him, especially with her weapon, would really be a bad thing. He wouldn't be useful for a long time after such a thin. So he'd been glad to not see his General's weapon, it was a little intimidating to say the least. He was honestly proud of her making General, and the changes in her uniform and weapon; especially the uniform, were quite nice.
He knew he wouldn't win, but winning wasn't a part of tonight. Tonight was a night to learn, he knew that; he'd asked her for this night for a reason. He needed to learn to fight and defend himself, and gathered energy, better.
Going over the swing set he landed in the sand, the sand giving under his boots, Turning so he faced her he nodded to her words and summoned his weapon. Shaking his head, grinning at her. "I thank you for this evening General." A bow given to her before he shifted his weight, finding his balance. The paintbrush held, by the brush end, the blunt pointed end aimed for the General as he launched himself at her again; one foot sliding back to propel him toward her.
He'd been learning, through trial and error and common sense, that really the only things he could do with his currant weapon were stab at people and try and drive it in to joints. There wasn't a lot one could do with a weapon like his, not to mention it was for close in work. But he'd taken it to faces and heads before and went for shoulder joints as well.

"Don't thank me just yet, Lieutenant," Painite grinned at him, watching him with a keen expression on her face. She was on guard, but she was thinking more about what to teach him. The hard way was always the most fun.
She did like that he bowed though. She could get used to people doing that.
Now was not the time to think about that.
As he moved toward her, she took a step back to brace herself. She didn't rush to meet him until the last minute, charging quite suddenly and moving to catch his wrist as he tried to stab at her with the pointy end.
"Good idea, using the blunt end. It's obviously the more effective side of the weapon. But you have to get in close for it to be useful, and you can't do that very well if you're fighting someone stronger or faster. Or, in the case of senshi, who simply might have more experience then you." She tugged him toward her, aiming to throw off his balance as she brought her knee up toward his gut.
She wasn't going to stab him, but she wasn't going to let him get out of it without learning something. And that often meant some bruises.
"Every opponent has a weak point. Your job is to find it before they find yours. Always think they have the advantage: don't waste your time on attacks that have no chance. But there are many ways to fight a battle."

Why not? She was giving him what he wanted. She was helping him, to better himself. He had no reason not to thank her, even if it was hard.
It was just that he really did hold respect for her, among other things. She was the one helping him in his endeavors and who had provided the support to all which he'd already been told. Bowing was a way to show this, without saying it.
Unsurprised that his wrist was captured. "The brush end is...flimsy." The brush hairs wouldn't do a thing to a person. It was the best way to use such an item as a weapon. "Mmm, I'm aware of that, not good against long range magical attacks." Something else he knew, and he disliked it. Someone faster or stronger was also the issue, but magic was the real issue he saw. He could easily run in to some senshi with a long range attack and find himself screwed, unable to get in close.
Trying to back up, even as he felt himself moving toward her he gasped. Surprised, and yet not, by the return attack. It wasn't that he wasn't expecting to be attacked, it was simply what attack. He knew he wouldn't get away clean tonight, and he'd gone in to this knowing that. he'd be needing more salve's for himself from now on. He didn't feel like walking around sore, tender, and bruised all the time. If he could hasten the clearing of blemishes from fighting he'd jump on it, and he knew his salves helped.
"Of course." Already down low, as he'd doubled over from the knee to his gut, he decided to do just that. Using his head as a ram, ramming hs head i to the General.

Painite watched him keenly, grinning as she did. She was very interested in seeing what skills he did possess, so she could aid him in growing stronger.
That was her duty to him, after all, and she would fulfill it to the best of her ability.
At least he was a clever young man. He knew his weaknesses already, but she felt that was what made him more vulnerable. It was one thing to know the limitations of ones body or weapon, but quite another to push by them and fight regardless.
A sorry weapon did not make a sorry Negaverse agent.
She was surprised as he charged at her with his head, pulling to the side and wrenching his arm behind him as she did so. She held his arm behind his back as she tried to force him to his knees, using her speed to get around him.
"If you can't fight at a range, don't give a senshi the chance to call their attack. They have to spout out those stupid little names, and though it's only a second or two it gives you time to get close and stay there. Eyes open, feet planted: make your hits count. Aim for the weak points on a body. Do you know what they are?" She remembered this lesson from Hiro, and wanted to see if Benitoite would come after her to show her.

He'd seen the opening and taken it, hence the head butting attempt. It hadn't gone well but he'd taken it regardless. If he was going to be bent over, with his head right there...it made sense; simple as that. Benitoite was aware of the short reach he had with his weapon, and without it. He was stuck with close in fighting, not that he was all too opposed to it. Though he would prefer distance he didn't have it at this point.
Trying to resist going to his knees he tried to lessen to pain in his arm while he moved and nodded his head. "Had one senshi, a super. Close in attack, her hand went over my eyes. I had been stabbing at her face and head. She managed it even while I was attacking." He still didn't know which senshi she was or what her power was. He simply knew what he'd seen and experienced with her.
"No, I'd think joints, eyes, temples. Logical places like that." Though the stomach and back of the knees were also an idea he had. When he found himself on his knees the blond went to try and lift a leg, balance on one knee, and kick up and out toward Painite. Maybe not such a good idea as it threw his balance off.

"Joints? Incapacitating, yes, but not ideal. If you can reach them, then go for it, but there are always more direct methods," she grinned as he pushed up against him, lashing her own knee out as he was rising to slam it into his lower back.
"Pain is your friend. Pain disorients. It doesn't matter where it's coming from or how serious the injury is: if someone is in pain, they're distracted. Doing damage is always important in a battle, but it doesn't have to be your only goal."
She shoved him away from her, using her strength to aid her in that.
Training was always fun. She could tell from how he moved and the things he tried that he did have some good knowledge off fighting, but he needed more application and practice. Sometimes too much thought got in the way of things.
She knew that from personal experience. She spent a lot of time thinking about her traps, perfecting them, testing them. Sometimes, she over thought things, and was her own worst enemy. It often led to her being foiled, simply because she went against her own idea of using improvisation as a viable fighting tactic.
There was room for planning and for the unexpected. It was all about finding the balance.

Somehow, in those few lines of speech, he felt her name fit her rather well. Speaking of pain and it being the better weapon as she did. Yes, her name right now fit her very well. Not to mention he was in pain right now, she was good at delivering pain; but also good at keeping it at a level that wouldn't put him out of commission.
"Got it." Nodding his head as he was pushed away from her. Coming to stand upright on his feet he turned to face her. "I'll remember that." He had, up till now been looking to do damage, to leave marks and make a senshi not want to fight him further. Maybe just delivering pain, rather than marking them and aiming to do so, would help him end fights sooner and teach senshi not to try for a second fight with him.
"I have been working on some plans. If you'd like to go over them later. I was working on a plan when I got into the last senshi fight I was involved in." The last one being where he'd gone right through a glass store front window and called her for a trip to the hospital. That said he went in again, this time he rushed at the General and at the last minute he dropped down and went to sweep her. If he could get her feet out from under her it would help him, bring her low and put her in a position where she could do less.

Painite smiled. She had no doubt that he would remember anything she taught him: he seemed very eager to learn and that just tickled her pink. A good student brought out the best in any kind of teacher, or so she liked to think. They could babble about how all students were worth the effort, but at the end of the day it was the ones that really wanted to learn that made it worth while.
Her ears perked at the word 'plans'.
"After this you can let me know all about this plan of yours, certainly," she said, though her eyes flickered when she saw him tense to charge. Switching gears back into fight mode was easy. He was trying harder, she could tell by how fast he moved, and when he dropped down she grinned, even though his hit connected and she did, in fact, lose her footing.
"Good!" She said, hitting the ground hard. She was already working on pushing herself up to her knees. "Follow through, or I will!" She moved to swing a low punch at him.

Zinkenite's words all those nights ago, he information given to him, it had gained his loyalty. A loyalty that while during that first senshi meeting had seemed wavering was now strong. The loyalty held fast and strong to the petite blond as he worked toward something, some goal. He didn't have the picture of what this end result was in his mind. He simply knew he would be more mature, stronger both mentally and physically, and confident in himself. It was this need to get to that goal, to whatever lay down the path, which drove him and kept him from complaining verbally about the work load he'd soon be weighed down by. He couldn't, wouldn't, slack off.
Watching as the General dropped to the ground, none too gently, he got up as quickly as he could. He didn't speak, no time or need to right now. This was time to train and talking would distract and slow him down. Moving out of the way of the punch, as he got to his feet, he came forward and aimed a kick for the downed General.
He would speak with her later, once this was over, about his plan. He wanted to somehow gather energy from those who would go to the art gallery and view the 'art'. There had to be some way to gather energy from observers, without walking around in uniform. That was something he also wanted to know, was there a way to gather energy without being in uniform and doing it from a distance.

Painite watched him keenly, treating this as a fight, though she bore in mind that they weren't aiming to really hurt each other as a proper fight between enemies. She saw the kick coming toward her and had to pull her arms in front of her to block it. His foot connected with her arms.
She lashed out, wincing as it had actually hurt to be kicked like that, and her balance was thrown for a moment. Her arms moved forward to grab hold of his leg, tugging it to pull him down.
If she succeeded in this, she would leap at him and pin him to the floor.
She saw in him so much potential, it was thrilling. He was a fast learner and seemed so dedicated, and that was just what she liked to see in Lieutenants. In Captains and Generals, as well. It meant they would keep thriving, never settle for second best, never become complacent in their skills or believe themselves to be the top of their form. There was always more out there to strive toward, and she would aid him in all his goals.
That was her duty, just as it was his.

He too knew enough not to take this seriously. He wasn't out to harm her as he would have been had this been a serious fight and her a senshi, he really couldn't picture her in a tacky skirt like some school girl out of a Japanese porn video. That was just disturbing, really disturbing.
As it was her grabbing of his legs worked and down he went with a loud whoosh of air leaving him, a thud, and an oof. Looking up at her, momentarily dazed the blond blinked up at her.
He knew his place, knew he needed to do better to help in this war as much as he was able. He had jumped into things head first that evening when he'd heard about this war. It wasn't something he'd be pulling out of, even if he did step off the path as he was bound to do at least once. It wasn't something he thought of, or even figured in to things. He just hoped if he slipped and walked off the path that she would help him, accept that he'd stepped off the path. He'd need it whenever it happened. He was a teenager, and thus prone to never be perfect.
"Now how would you suggest to best remove oneself from such a position?"

Painite was a bit too old for school girl skirts, or so she felt. Also, probably too old for Japanese porn videos. But that was neither here nor there. She had once dressed up as a senshi to fool a civilian, and she wanted to do that again.
Bad press was always fun.
She had him pinned under her now, looking at him with a smirk. She tilted her head to the side.
"How do you think you would get out of this position? I have you pinned, but I have to use my hands to keep yours down. If I move my hand, you can swing at me. But I'm probably going to focus on pinning you so I can yell at you about how wrong being in the Negaverse is."
Assuming she was a senshi in this scenario, of course. Or one of those loathsome knights.
"Use your head."
