Intro: Yasumeh's Office sits aside a small lake filled with coy. A peaceful calm hangs over the area giving off only the faint sounds of birds singing or tea boiling. Outside are pillows placed on two sides of small tables for meditation, shogi games or the occasional relaxing drink. Within however is a different story, maps lay scattered across the floor and walls, files on different members are arranged half hazardly with only a few small rooms in a clean orderly fashion whilst the main office retains the... wreck of a mess. Yasumeh insists it helps him keep things organized and one would be hard pressed to argue with him as he tends to produce files rather quickly piles of paper. None the less it has been a constant pester for him from those outside to pick the place up once in a while.

It had been a few hours since she had been in here and now she had finally reached the bottom of what seemed like an endless pile of papers. mostly it was resource requests from other squadrons and a few bills here and there, none were late but with the way the captain had 'organized' the office it was a surprise that they weren't. The mess mostly kept itself to the desk and once Natsuki was in the office that issue quickly vanished.
"I finished... That a bit strange since I'm usually stuck in here all day dealing with these papers... It's been very slow lately." She sighed as she filed away the papers that needed to be sent out. She wandered on over to one of the small tables in the other part of the building. sitting in the middle of the table was a teapot that she had began steeping only a few minutes ago, it was likely ready now as she took a seat at the edge of the table. She pulled a small cup that was tucked into the standard sash on her outfit and set it down. she grabbed up the pot and poured the aromatic liquid from it into her cup. setting the pot down she gently picked up the cup and softly brought it to her lips drinking the tea before calmly setting it down as she gazed out the window at the trees in the garden. It was this quiet that certainly made this Division worth being in. It was by far one of the more relaxing atmospheres of all the divisions. She continued drinking from her cup as she looked out at the scenery. She would likely hunt down the captain when she finished with her little break after all there were some papers that even she didn't have the authority to deal with. it involved admitting new members into the division and those only got final say from the captains themselves.

Yasumeh made his way back to the office, his robes fresh and clean from the bath house attendee's standard duties and his body even more refreshed, the aches and pains of long training gone. "Worth every penny" he muttered to himself suddenly noticing Natsuki inside looking out the window, "good" he thought, "almost thought I'd have to do my own work". Pulling on the small drawstring by his side he pulled up a small gourd and popped it's cork stopper, pressing the vessel to his lips and swigging back a small mouthful of the foul substance inside. He'd never really understood what made the drink so popular, perhaps just others trying to drown out reality and nightmares like himself, or perhaps there really where out those that liked the taste. He however, despite his seeming addiction, truly didn't... not that he ever let anyone know. Yasumeh walked across the small bridge over the coy pond and onto the outer walkway from his office. He raised one hand giving a slight wave to Natsuki as he came into her full field of view, "Oi, how much left?" he asked almost dreading the answer.

Gerard wandered aimlessly through his own area long enough. He had been given notice that a new lieutenant would be joining his squad, and the thought provoked the greatest feeling in the world. And this feeling, of coarse, was the feeling of freedom from his paper-work. That was, after all, the best use for a lieutenant. He had let the paper work stack up over the last few days...or weeks...however long it has been he had just sort of put it out of sight. And the easiest way to do that was to segregate an entire room from his house ...erm.... office to keep the paper work in. The lieutenant would have one hell of a job going through that mess. But it would teach them a valuable lesson... of sorts. Maybe? He shrugged his shoulders as he was coming across the sixth division HQ. He had been loosely introduced to the captain there who seemed to be the only other high standing member of the Gotei 13 with the same terrible lazy work ethic as himself. He found solace in the fact that there was another person like him. He could smell the tea wafting from the man's office and he smiled as he made his way towards it. His footsteps, as always made absolutely no sound, and even the chain wrapped around his stomach didn't move. He had learned the art of silent moving through constant training with his zanpakuto's spirit. The assassin that was his lover from the human world.
He stepped past a window and jumped up, grabbing the ledge and poking his head over the sill, looking in lazily for a moment before seeing the lieutenant and the captain both in the room. He heard the man ask how much paper work was done, and he noticed the bottle of booze that he was carrying. He never saw the man without one, and he had heard that it was a part of his fighting style. He never understood the drunken style, nor the consumption of alcohol in general. Gerard did partake every now and again, but he was a cheap drunk, and acted quite the giddy fool when he was inebriated. He pulled himself through the window and landed in front of it with a small smirk. "Hey there. Hope I am not intruding. I smelt tea." He said with a smile.

Natsuki ears perked at the sound of a familiar voice behind her and quickly turned to face him. "You look like I left you a ton of work, but don't worry only academy student requests to join are left for you..." She stated casually sipping at her tea once more. An invader had made their way here as well, the captain of the 8th division. "You know, there are other ways of entering a building, such as doors..." she stated offhandedly before offering the wayward captain a seat at the table with a wave of the hand. Once the captain sat she would be sure to pour the tea for him. She did wonder however why he chose to wander his way into the 6th division. It was likely due to his work ethic or lack thereof. "So, 8th Captain, how does your division fare?" she asked with a simple tone simply making conversation for the time being.

"I knew there was a reason I chose you to be my Lieutenant" he said quickly realizing how it came out and attempting to correct himself "Despite your obvious skills in the field that is. I just wish there weren't so many new recruits seeking to join the 6th... I'll have to find a way to make the squad look less appealing" he said jokingly. It was amazing, he could spend several days straight pouring over plans for a battle, defense, or any other hefty work load yet the simple task of reviewing some new recruits seemed arduous at best. "I'll get to it later tonight, promise" he said knowing his lake of work effort could wear on his peers from time to time. Turning as the 8th squad captain entered he held back slight laughter at Natsuki's comment, for someone with such a serious work ethic she seemed to have her moments of humor. "Seems it fares well from what I last saw, but apparently not on the tea front" he said taking a seat after removing his large brimmed conical to hang on a peg beside the entry way.

"Aye, there sure are ways such as doors for the conventional peoples to use. But what say you to a man who enters a window? Nobody expects someone to be coming through a window, and as such, if there had been some sort of intruder in here, it would have been much easier to surprise him!" Gerard explained, throwing his hand in a karate chop motion. In all actuality he had just smelt the tea and followed it into the sixth division, the man had a nose like a dog. The tea scent happened to be coming from the window more-so than the door, and as such he followed his nose through there. But there was no need to disclose such information to anyone, he could instead make his pointlessness seem completely logical...in a sort of manor. He doubted they would see it as logical anyways, but he did try. As she offered him a seat he smiled happily and obliged instantly, sitting down in the chair and smiling as he leaned into it. "You can just call me Gerard. No formalities needed love." He said with a grin as he watched her pour him a cup of tea. "You, ma'am are a gracious and very wonderful host." He said with a smile, taking the cup of tea and sipping it lightly as he looked to the captain as he perked up with a comment about tea. Gerard let out a deep chuckle as he looked at the man and he nodded. "On the tea front my squadron is doing quite well actually. But what is a cup of tea alone compared to one with friends, aye? I am trying to bolster my ranks a little bit, I may have a lieutenant joining into the force quite soon, which will be lovely. Seeing as I have a...well...very slight amount of paperwork I have been unable to get to. You know the drill Yasumeh." He said, answering Natsuki's question and Yasumeh's statement all in one, followed by tossing a knowing wink to the 6th captain from his last statement. He took a deep breath and he stared off into space for a moment, seemingly staring off into space before taking another swig of the tea. "You know. It has been far too slow around here as of late. I mean...not to be complaining about it. But it is almost as if we are in stasis. My squad has run thin, and there is no action. I feel like I should be doing something productive. Sort of... you know?"

"A time of peace is not a time of complaints... or at least it shouldn't be. We're payed the money we're given to keep us safe" he said holding out his hands, "and currently it appears we are doing our jobs quite well, even if we have been nothing more than warning signs to those who would intrude that is." Yasumeh sipped his tea twinging slightly as he washed the last taste of sake from his mouth. "Besides, peace never lasts even in the most optimal of places, you'll have your moment. In the mean time I suggest we just enjoy what we have while we can. These are the moments a man looks back on and wishes where still around when he's in the midst of carnage."
Yasumeh leaned back against the wall, both hands stretched behind his head as his eyes closed and he took a deep whiff of the fresh air around them. He had purposely built the captains office away from the main barracks if for nothing more than the peacefulness of it all. It did make delivering messages a bit more of a hassle but at the end of the day it was worth it. "As for your knew Lieutenant... is she cute?" he said opening one eye. It was no secret Yasumeh was a bit of a lecher, though with the nick name old man, mostly do to his zanpaktou's spirit, it was almost appropriate. Most blamed it on his heavy drinking, he claimed it was just him enjoying the -spice of life- or so to speak. He did consider the fact that the lieutenant could be male, but most men didn't stay in such positions for long always striving to prove their strength to be alpha making the calmer and more cool headed female shinigami often more suited for rank increases.

"Well, of course, I mean, I am very thankful for the peace, and I don't wish that things would become violent. More I suppose that I would have a sudden influx of students to teach. I am getting bored. Which is saying something for me, because in the midst of carnage I usually couldn't care enough to take action anyways. And here I am, sitting here, sipping tea with two lovely individuals, and even I am wishing I had something to do. Other than paperwork..." He muttered under his breath the last sentence as he thought about the entire room of paperwork he hadn't touched for weeks. His lieutenant was likely to resign before he even got a chance to get through it all. He took the last sip of his tea and set the cup down with a smile, gazing over at Natsuki and thanking her politely for the tea before turning back to Yasumeh. Cute...is she? I don't know...is it a she? I didn't really look at the paperwork. Hmmm.... To tell you the honest truth I haven't the foggiest of an idea. All I know is someone is applying for the spot, though I am unsure of anything more. I figure I will worry about the details when I meet them. Though...I really do hope she is!" He said with a silly grin. He too loved women, and he did enjoy to mess around by pretending to chase after them. The reaction was always the funniest part, because he wasn't a ladies man in the least, and usually scared them away. But this was all a part of what he meant to do in the end. He knew where his heart truly resided. He placed a hand to the handle of his zanpakuto and he smiled lightly, thinking of his beautiful wife, always by his side. "So, I hear you have a few recruits coming in, I suppose these will be the times you look back on and cherish rather soon now won't they. You'll be wonderfully busy with these little fellows. He said with a smirk.

"Depends on the recruits really. Some are a joy to have... others... well others belong in the eleventh, not my cup of tea exactly but I suppose they have their use. I'll let Natsuki here deal with those" he said jokingly taking another sip of tea. Pulling out a stack of papers from the nearby jumbled table he began shuffling through them, "Doesn't look to bad though, seems my last few talks with the main office payed off and they started assinging those with more sense of wit than might my way. A muscle is much easier to build than a mind after all, you can only beat so much stuborness out of these and those that can't should make home in the eleventh".
He didn't truly dislike the eleventh, he just thought them... simple. Unlike many squads Yasumeh needed a good combination of everything, a recruit needed to be in good shape but not a meat head, intelligent but not so much that they couldn't take orders, wise but not to the point they spent so much time contemplating meaningless things as not to act, but most importantly they needed to think differently. Differently than anyone, friend or foe, simply because the most tactically capable of individuals where unreadable and thusly unpredictable. They where rare, and his squad had been hurting in numbers for some time refusing over two thirds of the recruits that applied. The main office was supposed to suggest alternatives with a heavy hand if necessary when reviewing paper work to move onto the main offices, and such had been a pain to really put a smaller filter on for some time but they where slowly weeding out many of the applications that they knew he'd deny outright.

"I believe formalities are important Captain Gerard, but i'll use your name instead of your division number from now on." Natsuki commented coolly rolling her eyes at his almost comical attempt to explain his reasoning for entering the building via window. Getting to her feet she made her way to a small fire pit that boiled water in the other room carrying the teapot with her.
"In war time, the worst always arrives after a time of peace, it's not to say there will be trouble it's only to say that things always pick up eventually, one shouldn't rush into trouble for the sake of entertainment." she commented as she refilled the teapot with leaves and more hot water. Afterwards she returned to her seat and sat the pot in the tables center once more before continuing their conversation.
"As for your new lieutenant you should just hope they are capable of reading and writing properly if you intend to use them as your work horse." she went on looking over to Gerard commenting on their conversation about his prospective lieutenant. "Fortunately the 11th has its uses, it allows our division to do what needs to be done while they, 'smash good'." Natsuki explained pounding her feminine fist into her other hand whilst poorly mimicking the speech of a neanderthal. "In all honesty though strategy will always need the excessive muscle to back it, it's just a matter of that muscle being able to follow orders or not." She went on as she casually refilled cups.

"Fair enough I suppose. I know that when I first entered this place I didn't really have the attention span to be a good student. I was far more interested in merely attaining a position that I could sit on my a** and laze about with. Though my teacher did a good number on showing me that it wasn't exactly the way to go about it. Though I am sure you won't get too many of those in your squad, they should all flock to me. I will treasure the lazy ones. I will get to beat them into shape." He said with a laugh. When he heard Yasumeh start talking about the eleventh squad he heaved a sigh and shook his head. There was a time that he had dreamed of being the captain of the 11th, if not just to change things. They were exactly as Yasumeh described. Simple. And he had the exact feelings towards them. He hadn't had a chance to sit and chat with another of the captains for a long while, and he was beginning to like this man. He thought they may be able to see eye to eye on some circumstances. "Aye, making a home in the eleventh is indeed best for such simpletons. I am glad that you agree. I plan on making my squadron focus on being akin to the eleventh squad...without the major flaws. I don't have a name for it yet though. I have been pondering and pondering but I just don't know what the word is. We shall be focusing primarily on training directly with the spirit of the sword in order to gain 100% familiarity with it, bond with it, and fight alongside it. Never will a student of mine "use" their weapons. They shall partner with them. The ultimate goal...well..I hope to train a unit of people efficient in all aspects of their zanpakuto, perhaps I will see a higher percent attain bankai than the average squad at a faster pace. At least it is a hope." He said with a smirk.
He looked back to Natsuki and smiled as she began to go to get more tea and when she came back he nodded politely and poured himself a cup, letting it sit to cool off. "I hope you will forgive me for not returning the same favor and addressing you by rank. I just feel formalities to be...a chore. Though, as I was saying love, I don't want for combat to come our way quite yet at all. Violence and such monstrous amounts of work to defend this place are not what I wish for at all. Merely some minds to mold. He said with a grin. He was sure he would have some students soon enough though, he just had to wait a little longer. He pondered the thought of reading and writing and he weighted the two against one another, literacy and ability to do work, or attractive and eye catching. He then listened to her go on about her ideas with the eleventh division and he pondered that for a while as well, sipping slowly on the hot tea every now and again. He turned to Yasumeh after she had finished speaking and he had a grin upon his face. "Yasumeh, you have a brilliant lieutenant. She is sharper than any blade I have encountered yet. Beware, if she keeps up these wits she may be sitting in your seat soon!" He laughed as he looked back at her and gave a bright smile and a nod. "You are very correct about the eleventh division, though I will admit I have been rather close minded of them in the past. You shed a very positive light on them, and I believe that is a necessary thing. As for the lieutenant...you are probably right about the literary ability before good looks...but that won't stop me hoping she is a looker!" He said with a boisterous laugh.

"True enough" he said as Natsuki commented on the eleventh having their uses, "Every piece is valuable in chess, even the pawn which at times is more valuable than the queen whilst the king is the least useful and yet most valuable... to put it simply things are never so simple in times of war. I prefer to think of us in sixth as the players... if that's not to boisterous a claim to make. We have no strength without our pieces, it's just our place to plan and enact what we can. Though I'm sure if the first captain heard this she'd have me beaten" he said with a chuckle. "As for recruits you should be getting plenty soon enough. They tend to come in hordes this time of year" Yasumeh turned down having his cup refilled, with the sake he drank earlier and the cup he just had any more would make his bladder burst.
"As for your plans with them I'll be looking forwards to what you can produce. I have a feeling in a short while the snapping monsters of Heuco Mundo will rear their faces to feast once more, I doubt them to go much longer lest their bloodlust starve to death."

"It's understandable, I hold you no grudge for being informal Captain Gerard, It is okay for you to call me by name however, the terms of endearment are a bit uncomfortable to hear from strangers after all." Natsuki stated pointing out his manner of addressing her. "Captain Yasumeh will not have to worry about me taking his spot, he has far better tactical skills and a much higher level reiatsu then I do, he is suited for his position just fine..." She explained as she gently blew at the surface of the tea in her cup before taking a sip. "Besides even if I had more power the true power of tactics comes from its' deceptive aspects. By either imitating a large force or hiding something you have you'll automatically have a trump card that often crushes the opponent." She explains rather non-nonchalantly sipping from her cup once more. It was true she didn't really know if she was better or stronger than her captain but if others assumed her weaker or stronger than she was it was a benefit to her in battle. She actually had a considerable level of reiatsu though she never compared it to her captain's as he often did the same as her and concealed a majority of it from the others. Such was the way of the tactics squad. "I would be interested in seeing how well your plans go also, after all unity with your zanpakuto is quite important..." she went on taking yet another drink of her tea. She was having a fair time with this conversation and it brought insight to the structure of another division.

Gerard merely smiled as the man began to speak of the divisions as chess games, or rather war as chess games and the sixth division as the players. He nodded to himself a few short times as he thought about it. The logic was sound, for the tactics teams, where they did have immense power, were more about strategy and organizing the board then they were about jumping in. Though he knew that they would not act as the players if the time came, for they would be in the thick of it with them if they ever needed to be. "You would be one hell of a piece on the chess board however when somebody started to command the player. I don't think you'd fit on those little squares." Gerard joked with a wink at Yasumeh as he sipped on his tea once more. He nodded at the statement of recruits coming in at this time of the year and he smiled. "I think that is why I am so anxious about it recently. I know that this time of year is when they usually start getting pulled into this place. So I am waiting for them to come. I just want to begin!" He said, heaving a sigh as he took another lazy swig of the tea. He perked up slightly at the mention of Hueco Mundo.
He seemed to pipe down from his happy mood for a second as he contemplatively sipped on the tea little more. He was lost in thought by the mere mention of that place, his face having sunken into a serious expression, though that was very rarely seen on the captain's face. "Hueco Mundo made me think of Chicken Gumbo....and damnit, for the life of me I can not think of the recipe for it. All I remember was that it was delicious. And I want some. Hmmm. Perhaps later I will get my cooks to make some. Yum." He said with a bright smile. All of that seriousness....for chicken gumbo. Aye, he was a strange one indeed. He smirked at Natsuki's comment and he nodded in response. "Don't worry dear! We won't be strangers long if I have any say in the matter. And you will get used to it! Spoken like a true lieutenant. Aiming to please by buttering them up. Makes you seem like more of a threat! He said, mock fear crossing his face as he looked towards Yasumeh. "But in all honesty, I do apologize if the endearing terms bother you Miss. I will refrain. And I am quite sure you have no plans of overthrowing your captain, all is just harmless messing around. But yea, the union with your zanpakuto, I believe, is one of the best ways to increase your strength. There is no stronger shinigami than one who knows all pros, cons, and every other little intricacy of their spirit and their weapon itself. All of which is discovered by partnering with the soul of your blade, and merely training alongside it, speaking with it, meditating with it. Befriending it. What point is there to having a soul inside a sword if it is only going to clash with you whilst using it. You can not attain full potential in that manor." He said with a nod.
He glanced around the office for a few moments and he took a deep breath. "I surely hope I am not intruding. Shall I be on my way? I don't want to keep either of you from work that needs to be done."
