Another sunset was passing over the savanna that evening, and all was quiet in the Ukuucha'Wafalme. Most were in their dens, some were by the river.
The pride was still adjusting back into its normal routine now that all the adolescents were back home safe. It was also adjusting to several new banu that had recently been welcomed into the pride. And while all these things were occurring, the black silhouette of a lion was sauntering back to its own den.
Tariq'ra'd yawned widely, but silently. Pink eyes half-lidded, the male's thoughts were far from pridal duties and routinely adjustments. The only thing on his mind was who was wiating for him back in his den. He was hungry and tired, but sleepiness always did something to relax the otherwise unpredictable male.
Still, O'tep better have brought home a kill...

She was pretty ahead of the game in this case. She had been out earlier, it wasn't anything too impressive but it was something. It was a baby Gazelle, but yet once again she was home by herself and this made her a little irritated. She hated being home by herself quite frankly, she didn't like it at all. If she was going to be stuck here she would like to do something she could go out and run into the other females in the pride and she was doing that a little earlier, now, she had nothing to do.
However she was hungry, not too much but enough to get into some of the food and start filling her belly before the male got home. She didn't care if he wanted to eat first but at this point she didn't care too much but she didn't know if he would be upset she really had never done this before. She know that he might be upset. She had a strong feeling that he might be upset but she was willing to take that chance.
She stretched out on top of the meal, spreading her front paws on front of it and digging away at the first layer of skin to get to the meat before she started to growled as she started to swallow down some of the meat. She was wondering where Tariq was. He was running a little later then the normal time...

The scent of gazelle began to seep into Tariq's nose and his nostrils flared, stomach turning painfully with hunger. Well, the promise of food did quite a bit to even his temper. With a bit more spunk in his step, Tariq eased his way through the entrance of the den.
Black paws hitting rocky ground, he made his way into his dwelling place, pink eyes eating up the sight of O'tep feasting on a kill. She had done good to catch it, perhaps with Orah's help, perhaps not. Either way, he was sure she knew she wasn't supposed to be eating before him.
Then again, perhaps it was his own fault for being so sleepy and slow. ...Wait a second, he wasn't to blame--him?! The Vizier? Blamed instead of his beybanu? Tariq smirked at his tired mind. Or was it his tired mind...?
"Hungry, were you?" Tariq asked, eager to rid himself of his thoughts.

Otep was a little tense whens he could smell Tariq walk up to the den. She was pretty sure that he was the one to eat first, but he wasn't home! She was getting tired of waiting, she had just been waiting for him all the time recently! Or at least that was the way she was starting to feel. She was lonely and tired of being alone, and at the second she was hungry! So she ate with out him there if he liked it or not!
She flicked her tail behind her and looked up at him and then licked the blood dripping off her tongue and her chin just leaving a stain of blood. She stared at him meeting his gaze as he wandered in not that sure of what to say to him that was until he spoke first, and when he spoke she couldn't help but to get irritated. That was not what she wanted to hear. She wanted him not to say anything maybe join her for some company but that wasn't what was happening at the moment, it looked like today was going to be interesting once again.
She paused once again before looking down at the meal in front of her before back up at him and smirking with a nod. "Yes, I was hungry actually." She commented sitting up watching him carefully keeping an eye on every move that he did.

The black lion stalked towards his beybanu and stood beside her, quietly admiring the way the blood stained her pretty face. But his hunger interrupted him. Pointing himself towards her kill, he eagerly began ripping into the meat and filling his stomach. The first several bites passed in silence. Once the male's stomach began to recognize food, his mild frenzy began to calm.
Licking his fangs, Tariq smirked at O'tep's posture and lied down, possibly as a sign to her to relax. It had been a long time since the two had had a good, violent fight (he almost shuddered at the memories), but there was something...refreshing about the calm sort of tension the two had recently begun to share. He'd never complain about it.
"How was your hunt, O'tep?" Tariq asked casually, but there was a hint of interest in his tone. He tore another hunk of flesh from the carcass and readily swallowed it down.

O'tep took a few more chunks herself as she turned away from him and then started to move to the side some. And then watched the male eat she was happy to see him enjoy the meal. She had to admit there were a lot of times where she didn't want anything to do with him, but right now was one of those times where she wanted to spend time with him. She really did and she wasn't going to lie. But, even though at first it seemed like a good idea, she was starting to regret him not eating before her. She was hoping he wouldn't be angry. But as he was seeing it she was pretty sure that he didn't seem that angry.
Her suspicions were confirmed as he laid down. She could relax and she could lay down and enjoy his company. She liked it whe he was in a good mood it made everything nice for both of them. She moved closer to him and laid down beside him moving closer to him and licking as his mane cleaning the blood off of him. "The hunt was nice." She smiled thoughtfully, it was pretty true she enjoyed hunting, she could run and stretch her legs and some times it gave her a chance to wander out of the pride even if it was for a few moments. She knew it wasn't a good idea to leave the pride in the other hand, she couldn't bring herself to leave all together, even when she wanted to she would turn back arond and head back to the den. "I enjoyed going out for a little while. I went by myself the other females make me angry." She commented simply it was true she didn't like going with all of the other females.

Tearing off a particularly stubborn piece of skin from the beast, the male lion narrowed his eyes with interest at his beybanu's words; ears shifting at the tones of her voice. His posture relaxed even more at the familiar touch of O'tep's grooming. Something within him shifted and he became shockingly aware of how much his mood improved with her simple gesture. Perhaps he was more lucky than he previously thought for having such a beybanu? He made a mental note to go easy on her next time she did something wrong (even though that wouldn't be quite as fun as giving her a hard time).
"You like hunting alone..." Tariq mused while his mouth shielded a piece of meat. He swallowed and cut the lioness a side-ways glance, a corner of his maw pointing. "That's unusual for a normal lioness," he ventured teasingly. He had no surprised comment on her statement of being angered by the others. In truth, he understood, O'tep could become angered by just about anyone. Although...she did have her moments of sweetness.
"Maybe you should find a nearby pack of hyenas? You'd probably become capable hunting partners since you're so alike."
Tariq bit at another mouthful of food to hide his oncoming grin.

O'tep chuckled some into Tariq's fur, trying to hold it back. Normally his comments like that would piss her off but at the moment she didn't mind that much. She actually thought it was pretty amusing at the moment. She knew one thing for sure and that was that she was happy to be with him and no one else. It was a nice change something that she hadn't had in a really long time. She wasn't sure if she ever felt this happy to have his company to herself. She really wasn't that sure at all.
She stretched out her paws and laughed again. "When have I ever been a normal lioness Tariq?" She asked curiously wanting to find out what his answer was. That was one thing that was true though. She couldn't think of a time in her life where she was 'normal' by everyone else's standards. She was boyish. In a good way of course. But then again to a point she just got along better with anyone that... wasn't a grown female. Or one of her children for that matter. She paused for a moment and then rolled her eyes at him, his other comment was still funny but she couldn't help it. "Maybe I will!" She teased before moving by his side and leaning into him more a smile was on her face as she did.She purred contently as she laid next to him. Days like this were great, she was very, very happy.

Hmn, no. O'tep had never been a normal lioness--not even close. She had started off as a Kajira, after all. And what Kajira was normal? Well, there were the normal traits to look for in a Kajira, sure--but O'tep was a bit different than that. She didn't allow others to box her in. That was part of why Tariq had begun to like her so much to begin with. Things that seemed uncontrollable...excited him.
Something about O'tep going from Kajira to Beybanu was incredibly amusing, and while she laughed at one thing, Tariq felt himself laugh for a different reason.
Licking blood from his maw, stomach finally full, the Vizier reclined closer to his favorite lioness and pressed his face into her fur. Exhaling with something like contentedness, the male closed his eyes. When he opened them again, they held a look of seriousness. A little gear in his mind was turning--questioning. It didn't understand why O'tep liked him. Maybe one day she would ask herself why. And she would try to leave.
Tariq narrowed his eyes, paw reaching out to grip onto his Beybanu's side. He was finally getting a sense of...security, lately. Profound confidence. Some of the gaps in him had begun to close. He had felt a sense of loss when his Warleader left, then gained something back with his other banu. Then some of his banu had left, but still O'tep remained.
His claws outstretched to grip the lioness tighter, though they didn't break skin. He pressed his face deeper into her neck.
He'd never let her leave.

[quote="Yin-bug]O'tep looked at the male and then allowed him to get a little closer. To a point she was a little confused because of it. Just a little confused, she wasn't used to this kind of affection or for that matter used to him acting like that. It was a bit of a confusing thing. But they always had their strange moments. It was a up and down thing with them, or at least thats how she felt. It wasn't a normal relationship and that was what she enjoyed the most. It was something Different. It was something that wasn't like a normal relationship. It wasn't something that you would just find anywhere and that was one of the things that she really enjoyed the most.
she paused for a moment as the grip got tighter. In a way it startled her. She was a little surprised. Still confused at what to think for it but at the same time exciting, it was comforting she normally didn't let anyone get this close but she had cubs with him, she really cared about him. She was pretty sure that she loved him, she was pretty sure of it and she liked to think that was what it was. She tensed at first before she started to relax really enjoy the feeling of the male she took a deep breath in and then let it out and closed her eyes and started to relax. She knew that she could and that made her pretty happy. For the first time in a long time she knew that she could relax. It was an amazing feeling.
