Most people ran when they saw a monster.
If only Yvette was so lucky. It was what she wanted to do, but it was the one luxury she had to go without (as she was beginning to learn). Many times, she didn't even need to see the creatures to know they were around. Her legs would just start tingling something fierce to the point where she flat out wasn't able to even stand without a decent amount of effort. Walking was even worse, and running, well, was something she wouldn't even imagine anymore.
So when she was at a local sidewalk sale, looking through the various goods that she could possibly afford at a later date for any potentially fun sewing projects, she couldn't help but shiver slightly as her legs once again seemed to buckle under her like some useless jelly. The woman at the booth couldn't help but look at this dark haired girl curiously as she seemed to quietly utter out "Oh... not now... please not now..."
"Miss... do you need any...?" Before the lady could get the full question out, a loud shriek escaped one of the nearby booths as it seemed to get torn down quickly by some sort of rampaging thing. With the instinct of survival quickly filling her being, the woman gathered a couple of the items from the booth, then quickly began to make her escape.
Leaving Yvette to fend for herself against yet another monster. Normally, she wasn't nearly so lucky, but since she was decently close to the booth, the girl dragged her body as best as she could underneath one of the display tables.
Maybe. Just maybe, she'd be lucky enough to not be found by this monster.
Maybe.
