In the days prior, Riyo had managed to get herself sick (as much as she tried to deny it). At first, it had started off as nothing more than a minor inconvenience. Sneezes here, sniffles there. A general feeling of blah. Things that were easily remedied by a day of rest.
Rest? Hah!
The feline had no time for such comforts. There was work to be done, cats to take care of, and classes to attend! Rest was for slackers who had nothing better to do.
Which was why it only got worse.
The second day of little to no relaxation had her feeling sluggish. Her body refused to move at it's normal pace, as did her brain. As if the two were going on strike together. She found it harder to concentrate on things... And keep food down.
But the third day was, by far, the worst. Along with all the aforementioned inconveniences, Riyo felt her body temperature rise... Yet she felt so cold. Sick? No... She wasn't... Okay, well maybe she was a little.
That didn't stop her from getting dressed and walking towards the fitness room. No way she could pass up something so important just because of a little fatigue. Riyo would just have to take baby steps getting there.
... And boy did she ever. Riyo always made an effort to be prompt, so the fact that she was 10 minutes late was a little strange.
It took her a moment to open the door, finding the knob somehow harder to turn. "I'm here..." She called in, taking a deep breath after speaking. Why were her cheeks so rosy?

Jericho had shown up to the fitness room about the same time that he normally went. Riyo was making pretty decent leeway since she had started, which was good since he knew that what he was doing was working for her. Though, when the time for her to come came around, he noticed that she didn't show up.
In fact, she ended up being ten minutes late. It was a little odd, but he figured that she might have gotten caught up in something. Well, that was what he thought initially until he saw her. The feline wasn't looking too healthy right now and she looked as if she already had quite the work out.
"Hey," he greeted while making his way over towards the door, "Are you feeling alright? You look kinda worn down."

"Of course... I'm feeling alright." Riyo replied as soon as Jericho's mouth closed, her voice sounding more wispy than usual. "Just uh..." Quick, come up with some excuse...
... Any day now...
... Within the decade, perhaps?
"Decided to jog here." A pathetic lie, but the only thing her brain had bothered to think of.
"So what are we doing today?" The feline asked as she slowly made her way in, trying to fiddle with the buttons on her jacket. Jeez, how had she managed to get this on earlier?

The dragon stared at Riyo for a moment or so, raising an eyebrow as she came up with the excuse of jogging here. He wasn't too certain of it, but he bought it for the time being.
"Oh well then you should be fairly warmed up. We'll do some light stretches first then tackle something else," he nodded, pausing to think of what to do, "Hm... would you rather go with the bike or some of the weight machines today?"
If she really did jog, the latter might be better.

He bought it? Lucky break for her. Then again, Jericho didn't question most of what she said...
"Ah, um.." When Riyo finally got the last button undone, she tossed her coat to the side. Wow. Suddenly it got really cold. "I think the b-bike will be fine..." Another strange occurrence. The feline wasn't going for the more challenging of the two options. Wait. Was she shivering?

Unfortunately, Jericho had missed the shivering as he glanced back towards the bike, nodding. It was a little strange, though he couldn't quite pinpoint what the problem was. It was possible that she was just worn down from the jog, but she didn't really act all that odd before. Hm.
The dragon moved on towards the mats, motioning for Riyo to come along so they could get the stretches over with.
"We won't do this part for long. Just maybe five minutes," he nodded while glancing back towards her now.

"Okay." Riyo nodded, wobbling a little as she followed the dragon to the mats. Why was it so cold?
Trying to perform the first stretch, she could feel her body... Lighten somehow. Hell, it felt like she was floating. Amongst the sick and nasty feelings, it was kinda nice.
... And then she was on the floor with a nice THUD. At least the mat was there to break her fall. Riyo wanted to make some kind of witty comment about the situation, but the strength to do so had been drained right out of her. "********." Was what she settled on as her eyes closed on their own accord. What a shame this hadn't happened earlier to save her the embarrassment of looking weak in public.

Things seemed to be going as normal... until Riyo suddenly hit the floor with quite a thud. Staring at her for a moment or so, Jericho soon frowned, waiting to see if she was going to get up.
"Riyo?" he started while crouching down by her. There wasn't really a way for her to lose her balance like that while they were stretching. Aside from that, she was just laying there rather than getting up.

The only answer Jericho received was the sound of heavy breathing. Her ears twitched at the sound of his voice, but she couldn't manage to answer the dragon.
It had been a long time since the ghoul had felt so helpless. Memories of the last time she came down with an illness danced across her mind. She had been alone, as usual... And it had been miserable.
"... Sick." Riyo finally managed to cough out, as hard as it was for her to admit. What now? What could she possibly do now? Maybe if Jericho let her rest for a moment, she could gather up what little strength she had to walk herself back.

"You're sick?" Jericho frowned, "You should have let me known before hand. You need to be resting, not working out."
That did explain why she was acting oddly. Letting out a sigh, he looked towards the door while trying to figure out what he should do with Riyo.
"I'd say either go see Cricket, or head back to your room to rest. Give your body time to recover and all that jazz."

"Can't." Riyo breathed. She couldn't rest. There was no time for her to take a day off. "Things to do.." No way was she gonna see some school nurse. Probably keep her cooped up for half the day...
Weakly, the feline tried to move her arms and push herself up off the ground. All she needed was to get back up on her feet. If she could do that, she could make it back. No doubts about it. "Gonna... Go now." Her arms trembled, as if there was someone sitting on her back keeping the ghoul from going any farther. After a moment of remaining off the floor, she ended up right back on it again.

Jericho frowned at that answer.
"Look. Let's put it this way. You can... either take a day off to rest," he said before pausing, staring hard at the feline. He didn't help her up just yet, "Or you could keep working yourself with whatever you're doing and probably get worse to where you'd need a week or longer to recover while probably doing a pretty poor job with whatever you need to do in the process."
Shrugging, he added, "It's your choice."

For a moment, Riyo felt like she was being scolded by the parental figure she'd never had. Her eyes opened, quietly watching him lay out the situation as it stood.
This was what she'd been missing out on all these years?
"... F-fine." She WAS doing pretty poorly, wasn't she? It was almost shameful... Trying to force herself up again, the feline didn't get nearly as far as she did the first time. Was she going to ask for help? Oh hell no. Maybe for physical training, but getting up?
Her pride was like a disease that she refused to get treatment for... That might end up killing her at this rate. "I'll... Rest."
If the ghoul even knew how.

Glad that Riyo didn't object, Jericho looked as the feline was struggling to get back up. With a sort of frown, he let out a sigh and went to see if he could help up the girl.
"Alright. Be sure to get a lot of fluids and relax. Watch SkeeV, surf the web, take a nap.. whatever. Just no actual work," he instructed. He was no doctor but he supposed that being her physical trainer extended a little into her general health. She couldn't train effectively if she was sick and whatnot after all.
"Got that?"

"Mm, nap..." Riyo mumbled softly to herself. Wait, no. Can't do that yet. As much of a fine idea as it sounded like right now...
".. Okay." Even though she had no SkeeV... And most of her entertainment came from work-related things...
This was gonna be hell.
"I'll uh... Get up in a second..." She breathed out... Though appeared to make no effort in trying to move. Even her tail appeared droopy at this point.
"... In a second..."
