Taiga walked lazily out of the temple, his gaze falling to the statues which stood on either side of the pathway. He came up to one and puffed his chest out, snorting lightly before a grin spread across his face. He turned and sat in front of it, gaze turning towards the temple’s entrance as he waited for Mana. as he waited his thoughts drifted over the recent events of coming to the pride. It was a nice place, and though he was not that keen on the learning part, never one fond of such things, he found it interesting enough to learn of his new home’s history and workings.

Mana had been busy in her studies that would continue for quite some time, learning the ways of their new pride. She stepped out of the temple, stretching under the warmth of the sun. A smile spread over fer face as she caught sight of a familiar lion idling standing outside. “Taiga!” The lioness called out, making her way towards him. Having met a couple of lions not long ago and then pursuing her studies here had put her in a good attitude. Though she would be having to leave shortly to continue her studies with her other teacher, Val. “What are you doing out here? Shouldn’t you still be studying?”

The sound of Mana’s voice calling his name brought him out of his thoughts, and a smile spread across his face as she came towards him. “Taking a break. I needed some sunlight, can’t stay in there studying forever or my fur will just fall out.” He stood and stretched his legs before giving his mane a quick shake. “I thought I might take a walk around the place. It’s quite nice out and my legs could use a bit of a stretch, would you like to join me?”

Taiga’s first statement caught her by surprise, causing the lioness to turn her head to look at her fur for a moment before frowning and turning her gaze back to him. “Of course I’ll join you. Though you know, don’t slack. Learning more about these people will help us better adjust to life here.” It was definitely a different life living in a pride rather than by herself though Mana was adjusting well with cubs growing fond of her quickly. “So how have you been liking life here so far?”

Taiga sighed lightly. “I won’t slack, though I am not fond of this studying business. When I was little I did it, and it wasn’t any more enjoyable then.” He took a couple quick steps forward, bouncing slightly as he did. “I couldn’t wait to grow up and learn to fight though.” The bounce left him and he slowed back to his previous pace. “I do agree though that it will make adjusting a bit easier, which is why I shall tough it out.” His gaze drifted skywards as they walked. “I like this place so far, it is nice. How about you?”

Mana’s ears fell back as she examined her fur again, almost completely tuning out Taiga as she tugged a bit on some of her shoulder pelt, making sure that it was still firmly attached to her skin. His question at the end managed to pull her from her self-examination though, lifting her head to look back at the lion, blinking several times as her mind tried to comprehend the question once more. “Huh? What? Oh...cubs seem to enjoy my presence and it seems that my knowledge of herbal remedies is something that would be appreciated here as they apparently lack healers. I am finding their way of life interesting though.”

The cream lioness glanced over her shoulder once more, whining slightly, looking more down her side this time, attempting to make sure that her fur wasn’t falling out. She even went so far to look in the sand behind them as they walked to see if any was laying on it. Though seeming her fur would be difficult as she matched so well.

A brow quirked at the lioness’ strange actions as she tugged on the fur of her shoulder, though he said nothing at the time. He gave a nod as she spoke, smiling lightly. “Well I am certainly glad to hear that you are doing well, and liking this place. It seems quite a peaceful area, certainly not a bad place to live and raise a family.” The last part he played off as an offhand statement, as if he were simply speaking on general terms, though in truth he was curious to see how the lioness took it. She certainly loved cubs, and though he himself was unsure how to handle such small things he was still fond of the idea.

His gaze fell back upon her after he spoke, finding once more that Mana was acting oddly, staring at her side and behind them. Unable to contain himself any further Taiga came to a halt, brow quirked as he looked her over. “Is something wrong?” She didn’t appear to have any obvious injuries, and looked no different than before, but he couldn’t figure out what was distracting her so.

“You’re right, it is a nice place, and this would definitely be a good place to raise cubs.” She was still a little distracted so whether or not she was just agreeing or actually meaning it was a different matter. “Sorry...I’m just making sure that my fur isn’t falling off from being inside for too long...” Mana explained as he questioned if everything was well or not. The lioness smiled at her results, finding no fur missing or out of place as she turned to look back at Taiga. “Why do you seem some missing?” She asked, craning her head upward in an attempt to look at her forward, frowning at her own failure to be able to do so.

Taiga stared for a moment, a bit taken aback. Did she think he had meant that literally? That fur actually would fall out for such a thing? A sudden burst of laughter escaped him and he stumbled slightly, unable to stifle the laughter. It took him a few moments before he was able to regain his composure enough to speak. “No, there is no missing fur, Mana. I had not meant that literally, it was a joke. Your fur isn’t going to fall off from staying in too long, though some fresh air every now and then is certainly nice.” Another, softer chuckle escaped him and he shook his head, still quite amused.

The chuckle trailed off in to a soft sigh as his gaze shifted towards the sky, which has started to darken. "Well perhaps we should return, a bit of fresh air is nice, but I could go for some rest too." He turned back towards the temple as he continued. "Are you coming back as well, or are you going to stay out a bit longer?"

Mana’s attention quickly turning back to him, a frown evident. She had taken him so seriously and now she looked like a fool in front of him. He was even laughing at her! The lioness huffed, turning around to look him in the face, looking him directly in the eye. “I knew that. I was just...making sure. I do want to look my best for you.” The last sentence was spoken much softer then the rest of it as she turned to follow him back towards the temple, more embarrassed then anything else at her own folly.
