By the dread wolf! Why was her den always such a mess? She cleaned she know she did. There were bits of paper and things everywhere disagreeing with her. Unable to stand the mess a moment longer she fled her den to get some air. She stretched her wings and took off as soon as her wings cleared the den. She’d get back to cleaning later. Probably, maybe, another day. Today was just too nice to spend cleaning. The air was clear and warm. The sun was shining. Maybe Merrill would go find a fox and talk to them. Oh she loved learning about other foxes. History was so fascinating!(Merril muse is dead atm but I will try)

"Mm..." Lyra pouted as she looked at the miserable pile of berries that she had managed to collect for herself. She usually did so much better then today but she found herself getting distracted far too easily. A pretty butterfly would fly by and she would watch it till it disappeared or there would be a lovely flower that she decided to pick and weave into her curly hair.
It wasn't that she was easily distracted. Lyra paused, okay guilty. She was easily distracted but it wasn't her fault. Lyra liked beautiful things, that wasn't a crime was it?

After a few hours Merrill decided she was lost, well not really lost. She just didn’t know where she was. That was the problem with making a new den in a strange place. Finding things was always hard until the new den became an old den. Landing on a branch Merrill looked up at the sky. It was still bright out and she wasn’t really tired or hungry. She nodded her head thinking aloud. “I’m not lost, I’m on an adventure. You’re only lost when its dark and you’re tired and hungry.” She adjusted her garments and took off again in a random direction. She’d find her way back eventually she almost always did.

Suddenly overhead, Lyra noticed that something shiny was flying over her. Squinting up in the light she noted that it must be a phim or a Daeva given the size. If it was the later she would rather not run into the beast, but her curiosity, must like it always did, got away from her and she found herself flapping her wings to get into the air to investigate. She mused that if it was a Daeva she could always run away before it caught her, and if it was a phim then perhaps she could meet a new friend. It had been so long since she had run into anyone out here.
Smiling, the phim tilted her body and aimed herself at the glimmering object about a yard in front of her. Now that she was closer, she noted two things: the object was a she, and SHE was in fact a phim. Albeit an oddly dressed one.

Hearing noise behind her Merrill looked over her shoulder to discover that she was being followed. This was interesting, maybe the purple fox behind her was also lost? Or better yet maybe the other fox would be able to give Merrill directions! Wouldn’t that be just lovely? She looked about for a place to land and settled on landing at the base of a large silver oak tree.
She fidled with her scarf for a bit before looking to see where the other phim was. Oh I wish I were better with others. I usually just end up putting my tail in my mouth. She didn’t understand why she always ended up saying the wrong thing, she just usually did. While waiting to see what the other phim was like Merrill tried to think of a greeting to use. Just saying hello seemed so rude, but if she tried to say more she might start rambling and that wasn’t a good impression to make at first. She knew that much.

Lyra noted that the female landed on the ground. Mildly curious if it was because the vixen had spotted her and therefore was trying to find a location that was more suitable for conversation, Lyra decided to land in front of the oak tree as well. Since it was another vixen, Lyra didn't have any nagging suspicious that the female was going to be overly aggressive and see her as a threat. Or at least she hoped it wasn't going to happen that way.
Putting on her best smile she approached the vixen, and inclined her head in greeting. "Hello there...I hope you don't find it weird that I was approaching you, but something glimmering in the sun caught my eye and it wasn't until I was closer that I realized it was you."

Not really having decided what to say to the other vixen Merrill had been just about to open with a joke, so the fact the other vixen spoke up first was an immense relief to Merrill. Was it weird to be followed? Merrill supposed so but you didn’t find out anything by avoiding a fox so coming up to them or following them for a bit was a fine way to get to know something wasn’t it? Oh was she supposed to answer the part about her opinion about being followed? Gah! Conversations where just so confusing. Still at least the other vixen was smiling and seemed nice. The armored phim smiled right back. “No it’s not all tha’ strange. I suppose I’d follow something shiny if I saw it too, well unless it could hurt me.. than I’d run away.”

The starry phim giggled, "Well that is common sense right there. Don't want to go toward something that is hurtful." She smiled at the vixen, "But you seem nice enough that I don't think you were harm me. Unless I did something to offend you...Oh! Which i won't." She quickly shook her head, "I promise I won't do anything to offend you...well at least i will try not to do anything." Lyra blushed slightly as she looked at the vixen. She sounded like a babbling idiot! What was wrong with her anyway? She was never like this. Well maybe that wasn't true. She could be a little absent minded sometimes, but she had been working really hard not to be lately.

“O’ no I wouldn’t want to hurt you at all!” Merrill shifted her paws haphazardly shifting her weight and making her armor clink. “I don’t think ya’d do anything to offend me. You seem really nice. A lot like me.” Merrill giggled. “I mean like me in the good ways not the bad ones.” Merrill blushed was she being annoying already? She really hoped not. This vixen was really nice. Maybe a joke would be make things better. She considered the one she had to start the conversation, but that one seemed out of place now. As she was thinking she accidentally spoke aloud. “If I poked a bear do you think it would giggle?” Oh no her mouth had run off and left her brain behind again.

"If you....what?" Lyra looked at her puzzled, then thought about it and laughed. "No I do believe that if you poked a bear that it would turn around and bit your head off." She smiled at the vixen. "Such a silly question. Where did that come from?" She cocked her head to the side and studied her.
"You are a very intriguing phim....I can honestly say that I have never met another like you." Lyra pawed a bit of fluff away from her nose, feeling a tickle that was going to make her sneeze.

Wishing for the ability to melt into the ground Merrril wondered if it were possible to do so. The other vixen called her silly. Merrill blushed a deep scarlet. “I just.. well I was thinking about it before. You see I poked a squirrel once and it chattered at me, then I poked a bird and it took off flying. I tried to poke a badger once, but it ran away so I thought ‘what about a bear’. I’ve never heard a bear giggle and I don’t’ know if they can, but if they could then poking it would definitely make it happen..” Intriguing? Merrill had never been called that before; silly, annoying, irritating, but never intriguing. Was that a good thing? She hoped so.

"You have poked a lot of creatures." Lyra chuckled at the vixen. The chain mailed female definitely had a charming blush that was incredibly endearing to see. "But I would not advise poking a bear. They have foul tempers and I would not like to hear of you being harmed." The starry phim smiled, "You seem like a very sweet girl....erm...." Lyra laughed, "I realized I have no idea what your name is..." She smiled.
"You can call me Lyra though."
(merril is so cute....and i was just going through our pairs. Have we ever done anything but gay pairings? lol)

Feeling silly for talking about such things with a total stranger Merrill blushed. “Oh well not a lot of things just things that were here or there when I woke up in a tree or came out of my den.” She looked down at her armor feeling rather secure but not brining up poking a bear again. “It’s sweet of you to worry about me. I’ve never had anyone do that before. Usually they avoid me or call me names. Though that’s an odd sort of way to be be nice when you say you never want to see them again isn’t it?” Feeling flustered Merril realized she hadn’t given her name at all. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to be rude, I suppose I’m just not used to being all that social. I’ll stop babbling now. I’m Merrill by the way.”
(Merrill is a headache… but she looks pretty <3 I love her to death in the games but somehow her more scatterbrained part of her came out in the fox… *twich* It’s creepy. I have a RL friend who acts like Merrill in the games.. and now it’s like a part of her in a fox.)

"Why would anyone call you names?" Lyra looked at he concerned, then her eyes widened, "Oh that is not what I meant at all! I am so sorry if you took it that way." The starry phim started to panic, "I was just saying I would be sad if you were hurt, not that I never wanted to see you again. Oh not that I am a stalker either. I'm not going to be following you around or anything. I am completely normal and functional." She nodded her head feeling flustered and clumsy.
Taking a deep breath Lyra smiled at her cheeks flamed with color, "It is nice to meet you Merril."
(lol. none of my foxes come out the way that I planned.)

“What?” Merrill was confused for a moment before she thought about and understood the miscommunication that took place. “No, I didn’t mean you were saying you never wanted to see me again. I meant the people who called me names. They took all that time to come up with names like ‘scatterbrained ditz’ or ‘featherbrained fool’ or ‘freakish abomination’ and things like that then they just take off, or chase you off depending. It seems a rather odd way of making friends. Usually others come up with names of endearment when they want to keep you around, so making up a name is an odd sort of way to be be nice when you say you never want to see them again; at least I think it is.” She blinked realizing she was babbling again and clamped her mouth shut for moment so her brain could catch up and organize things for her.
(Mmm mine give me a run for my money sometimes, but some them turn out a lot better then I ever thought they would.)
