The snow had been deep that winter so despite the warmth of the coming spring there were still large piles of snow littering the landscape. Rois darted threw the mist like a ghost. Water dripping form the trees and the fresh smells of the woods made her smile as she ran. Nothing could slow her down when she felt like this. It was the same feeling she got when her mother had taken her flying as a kit. Rois loved it beyond compare. Her tribe leader Nika seemed to know this and often let Rois go for long runs to keep in shape when there weren’t deliveries to be done. This was one such day. On top of which this day was special. She was going to spend time with Caprice her fellow tribe mate and friend.

Caprice bounded through the snow, jumping from pile to pile and kicking up flurries. She'd been working hard recently, trying to pull her weight, both figuratively and literally, in the Gang. She didn't mind, she wanted to help her Gang be as good as it could be. But all work and no play made for a very boring day. It was a good thing that today was not that day. Caprice was going to be seeing Rois!
Making it to the meeting spot, Caprice played in the snow, waiting for Rois to show up. Caprice had planned a great day! ...Okay, Caprice had planned them meeting and watching the stars tonight. But Caprice was positive that she could come up with something fun for the two of them to do. Picking up Rois's scent on the wind, Caprice wagged her tail happily.

Not slowing Rois leapt over a log and kept heading to where she was pretty sure she was supposed to be meeting Caprice. The wind was carrying her scent ahead of her so she didn’t know if Caprice was there or not. Still she felt her excitement growing. How could she not be excited? The afternoon sun was even beaming with her! There were a few clouds off to the west, but Rois didn’t expect any trouble from them. They were light gray and fluffy looking. Perhaps she and Caprice could look at them and pick shapes out of them. She hadn’t really done that since she was a kit. .
Finally sure she was reaching the meeting spot she started to slow down. She didn’t want to run all out and arrive winded before Caprice. That would just be embarrassing. The ground beneath her paws was only mildly warm from the sun. If this kept up the light mist that was in the area would be gone soon. “Caprice? Are you here yet?”

Tail curled up high with excitement, Caprice could barely stop herself from jumping around joyously. As it was, she was bouncing slightly up and down on the pads of her paws. Rois' scent was coming closer and closer and Caprice couldn't wait to see her. Patience not being one of Caprice's strong suits, she started rushing out to meet Rois.
"I'm here!" She called back when she heard Rois' voice. Popping out from behind a tree, she bounded over to Rois, stopping short of bowling the other vixen over. "I'm so happy you came! I can't wait to spend the day together!" She said, tail wagging so fast her hind end was getting into the action too.

Rois’s tail waged as soon as she saw Caprice. The dog-fox before her instantly made the day seem ten times better even though it was wonderful to begin with. “I can’t wait to spend the day with you either Caprice! So what shall we do first?” She blinked and smiled wondering what kind of day the other vixen had planned.
She flipped her hair back and looked around. The area was deserted of most things. A few birds were tittering about in the trees. Turning her attention back to Caprice Rois finally realized just how close the other vixen was. She was blinked as she wondered why she hadn’t noticed the proximity before when Caprice first came up. A light blush tinted her cheeks.

Caprice smiled. "Well, I saw this really pretty waterfall a little while ago. It's not even frozen over or anything, though it's probably really cold anyway. Do you wnt to go see it? There's a bit of a hike though." She said, wagging her tail. There was also a flat rock at the top that would be great for star gazing tonight, but they could look at the stars anywhere.
Which was the great thing about Caprice's 'plans'. Since they weren't definite in any sense of the word, there was alway a different way to do them. She wanted to spend time with Rois and show her the stars how that happened, Caprice didn't mind.
Noticing the light blush on the other's cheeks, Caprice smiled widely and nuzzled Rois. "I know it's a bit of work on our day off, but it's definitely worth it." She promised.

A waterfall? That sounded like a fun thing to see. Rois didn’t get the chance to see to many of those even though the gang lived up in the mountains. She was much more used to the trickling streams and rivers. She was rather excited about the idea of seeing a real waterfall. She wondered what it would be like. Hiking to it would not be a problem.
Caprice’s nuzzle sent a shiver down her spine. Rois blushed more as she realized that Caprice thought the blush was from the idea of going for a hike and not about the fact that the other vixen was so very close to her. “Ah no I don’t mind at all. I like walking and moving. It’s a lot of fun to me.” Rois felt incredibly silly for not being able to explain herself properly. If anything she figured she just came off sounding weak, which was not what she wanted.

Tail moving a mile a minute behind her, Caprice smiled widely, glad that she would be able to show Rois the waterfall. Butterflies were tickling her stomach as she tried to think of a way to tell the other vixen how she felt. Most of her ideas had been quickly discarded cause they sounded beyond corny."Good. It's this way, Rois." Caprice said, turning and starting off, tail still wagging.
The waterfall had been her best idea, though Caprice could have come up with half a dozen more if she had too. "You're gonna love it. It's still got plenty of snow around it, and it's really pretty to look at." 'Like you' was supplied by her mind, but Caprice showed a little restraint and didn't say it. She didn't want to scare off her friend...especially not before they spent the day together.

Following Caprice Rois was mesmerized by just how fast caprice’s tail could go. She’d seen the other dog-foxes tail’s move quickly before but not even Cari who was almost like Rois’s own sister had quite the grace that Caprice’s tail seemed to have. It was slim and quick and looked very, very soft. Rois had the strongest urge to reach out and pet it. Still she took that desire and shoved it to the back of her mind along with her desire to giggle. She didn’t want to embarrass herself.
“Well now if there enough snow maybe we could make a snowfox!” So the idea was a bit kit-ish but at least it was something fun to do, and more importantly she could do it with Caprice. The other vixen was a fun loving fox like herself so Rois didn’t feel shy about introducing the idea. “I’m so excited to see the waterfall. Um do you think that maybe the waterfall will be all misty like in fairytales?”

Caprice trotted slightly ahead of Rois, a noticeable bounce in her step. She was literally leaving the ground for short periods of time after each step. Caprice loved doing stuff, and she really, really loved doing stuff with Rois. Opening her mouth in a tongue-lolling smile, dropping back to walk next to Rois, shoulders brushing occasionally.
"A snowfox! That's a great idea, Rois!" Caprice said happily, touching her nose to Rois' cheek. "We can carve little roses into it like you have." Hehe, that snowfox would look cute. "It may be all misty like that. Especially if the melting snow is making the water flow faster than normal. I bet that would kick up a lot of mist." She said, hoping the waterfall would be misty for Rois' sake.

Wondering if she was being blessed or tortured by a modeity Rois felt a rush of heat and a spark of disire everytime Caprice managed to brush up agianst her when walking. It was so pleasing that Rois didn’t want it to stop, but she scolded herself silently for being so pleased with it at all. She was already a mother and this was her tribe-mate Caprice, a friend, not someone to be drooling over in her dreams. Not that Rois would admit to having such illicit dreams. Her cheeks flamed up at the dog-fox’s nosing. “Oh and we could give it a tail like yours that way it would end up looking like both of us!” She liked the thought of having the dog-fox they created out of snow have aspects of both of them, like a signiture that they could both share and be proud of. That and the fact Caprice said there might be some mist made Rois really look forward to heading to the waterfall. She wanted to sit and watch the sparkling light in the mist with Caprice by her.

Absolute bliss was what Caprice was in. “Oh yes, that way it would look like both of us. Almost like if we had a kit!” She said, her mouth running far ahead and her brain playing catch up. Her first instinct was to freeze, and she did pause briefly, but quickly put herself back in gear. She looked at Rois out of the corner of her eye to gage the other vixen’s reaction. Maybe Rois wouldn't notice the little slip....

Rois smiled and nodded missing the full implications of what Caprice said. “It’ll be so cute!” She treated the dog-fox to a huge smile. It would be so much fun to build something with Caprice. While they were in the same tribe there never seemed to be enough time to just chat or do something fun together, well unless it was work. Her mind was working on possible mixes that she and Caprice could do with their snow fox.

The sled dog vixen relaxed back into her happier mood, a large, tongue-lolling smile. Caprice's tail waged faster and she pushed on ahead. They were almost to the place with the best viewing of the waterfall. "Hey! Wanna have a friendly little race, Rois?" Caprice asked.
"See those two trees on either side of the path? Whoever makes it there first wins. With the waterfall being the prize...for both of us." She said with a laugh.

Rois smiled and nodded before tensing her muscles getting ready to run. The colored tips of her hair bobbing as she took a deep breath reading her lungs for a quick sprint. Oh it was just like Caprice to know the things that Rois liked best. Running for Rois was like flying. It was so freeing and amazing to feel the wind in her hair and the earth skid under her feet as she barely ever touched the ground, or at least that was how it felt to her.
