The hoot of an owl sounded somewhere on the edge of a small forest, it was growing dark and all the nocturnal creatures were stirring now. A nose snaked out of a cavemouth just a stones throw away, sniffing the air. Vincent stepped out of his cozy home and stretched his wings, licking his lips for any remaining tidbits of the rabbit he'd had for a snack. He peered up at the sky and stared at the swell of the moon, his catlike eyes gleaming. Another hoot sounded, this one not too terribly far off..." Hmm...i wonder how owl tastes..." he wondered outloud " but there are so many FEATHERS...usually i like fish, scales are easy" He swished his fishlike tail behind him and cantered briskly towards the sound, He wrinkled his nose, the piercings lodged in it winking in the light.
It was late, but some of the best folks came out after dark, he was definitely on that list, but he prefered the FEMALE sort~ girls were hard to come by, at least ones that would stick around and chat..er...deal with him. He wondered if anyone would swim with him, he liked swimming, or at least just being in water, his wings were kind of a pain, but he would always win the "how long you could hold your breath underwater" contest...too bad the others didn't ever come back up...they should really learn to swim better!
He meandered through the forest, chewing up any small creature that ran or flew close enough~ " i wonder if anyone is arouuuuund~" He asked aloud~ he turned his head sharply as another hoot sounded..." but first...gonna catch me an owl..." he said, a wide grin splitting on his face as he trotted off to find it.

Wandering away from her cave, a small mutant of a mare held her own beating heart in her mouth. While she would have rather kept it at home with her second mother, Valdis, she wouldn't be able to get far without it. If she got past a certain distance without it, she would start to feel excruciating pain and possibly even death if she totally abandoned it. Although, it made her consider finding herself a small servant to keep her heart viciously protected, but someone she could trust to do such a thing. She would need to keep an eye out for such a creature...
As she wandered through the forest, she kept her eyes out for some prey. She was rather hungry, and didn't know what would be the easiest catch. She could search for a rabbit hole to terrorize, or maybe target an opossum since they should be coming out of their holes right now. She supposed she just needed to come across the prey first before trying to hunt.
It was not long before she noticed an opossum coming out of its hole. The smell of her decaying flesh would probably entice it, and all she would need to do is kill it. Setting her heart down in a safe but close position to her, the mare prepared herself for the opossum. She would look like any dead horse and just laid still on the ground for the opportunity feeder to find her. It wasn't long before the opossum wandered over to her that she quickly shifted and tore into the scavenger's body. She paid no mind to the opossum's scratching as she tore out the animal's stomach.

The sharp tang of fresh blood wafted through the air and he raised his head, his face rather comically full of owl feathers. The owl had been sadly more puff than meat, so something fresh would be nice~ he followed his nose and as he got closer he picked up something else, the scent of death.
Things long into the decaying process smelled like that, he wrinkled his nose, his piercings winking. " Yummy" he rumbled, tucking his wings in so they wouldn't get snagged by branches and burrs. He peered over an expanse of coyote bush and raised an eyebrow at the scene just across from him. A dark winged figure was bent over the fresh carcass of an opossum. His golden eyes narrowed behind his bangs and a grin lit on his maw, it was a mare. But of course, even with his lecherous ways, he noted that the decaying smell was coming from her, and in fact, as he peered closer, her body from chest to groin was open, the white of bone showing through her emaciated sides. " Well that's....interesting~" She was obviously alive and eating the unfortunate furry creature, but where was she puting that...was he looking at an undead mare? Those wings were curious and he noted with amusement that out of the horror story that this mare seemed to be, the horn of a unicorn spiraled from the center of her forehead. " She doesn't look dainty enough to be a 'corn" He swished his fish tail behind him, a lot more curious than before.
