It was just one of those nights. The moon was at it's fullest and even though it offered more light than usual, something just seemed off. There was something about the moon like that this that just made others crazy. Others did things that wasn't normally in their nature and it just creeped Tristian out.
He took a deep breath and trudged on. It was one of the night his mate had gone to see her family and left him all alone. How it hated nights without her. His body gave an involuntary twitch at the thought. She was his strength, without her, he was back to being the coward again.
Damn.. Even the tress looked like they were trying to grab him.
A movement in ahead of him caused Tristian to pause. His head cranked closer to get a better look, but his body was frozen in place. "Hello!?" he called out to the over large bush.

Frostbite moved silently through the woods. on her face was the largest grin, infact she was having a hard time not to bust out laughing. before her was an odd male sporting antlers and a lions tail. despite his unique features, it was his trembling that cause her eye. this male was scared out of his mind and she could smell it. he kept taking glances up at the full moon, which made Frostbite want to laugh even more. nothing about the moon ever made her crazy, possibly due to her catwalker mother. but that never stopped her from pretending.
the male called out to her. a simple greeting spoken through trembling lips. Frostbite, who was by far the fastest in her pack, ran at him at top speed. she was like a ghostly blue blur, her dark coat blending into the shadows while her pelt reflected in the moonlight. she ran right past the male, licking his cheek as she went. she was moving too fast to just stop, so she used her momentum to launch herself into a tree, and settled on a branch that was positioned so that she could see the male.

Tristian couldn't help but 'Yelp' as something burst through the bushes at him, just barely avoiding him. He rushes backwards, tripping over protruding tree roots, that sent him tumbling to him rear.
The blurry figure seemed to disappear from sight. But to his disappointment, he spotted something out of the ordinary. s**t! What is that?!
His limbs quaked as as he scrambled to hooves. This creature, what ever it was, didn't look like something that just wanted to talk. To it's glowing blue pelt, midnight black fur, and it's razer sharp claws. Tris just hoped she wasn't looking for a quick meal.
What the hell was it? Should he try to engage the creature? It didn't look like he had much of a choice, now did it? It was obviously faster than him. s**t! He swallowed the extra large lump in his throat and tried his best to assume a friendly facade, but with his smile quirked to the side and body trembling, it was obviously a failed attempt. "H-h-hell-llo." He managed with a toothy grin.

Frostbite had to hold back laughter as she saw the males flailing limbs. it was quite a sight. she was beginning to think that this unlucky soquili could provide her with some good entertainment. her high hopes were quickly smashed when the male addressed her. she sighed and dropped to a lower branch so that she could be seen. "why does everyone always start out with hello?" her tail flicked back and forth as she gave the male an overly dramatic pout. "i mean look at me. do i look like the kind to strike up a friendly conversation with?"

Anxious grey eyes watched as the female got closer. Her features came into view, but his mind was still drawing a blank. He had seen scary things before in his life, but so far, she was on the top of his list.
His body shook as she spoke even though the subject seemed pretty normal. What did she want from him? He didn't have anything, anyone would want.
"N..n..no! It's because y..yooou frrrighten us. W..w..we don't know w.w..what to say."

"aww arent you just adorable." she dropped from the tree and took a few steps closer to the poor male. "haha look at you, a big bad cerynei like you shouldnt be trembling so hard." she smiled and lowered her head a bit, mocking how cerynei male would fight with their antlers. she pawed the ground looking like she was about to charge. "why dont you take me out with those impressive antlers of yours. killing a walker like me is sure to make any female fall for you."

Tristian's eyes rounded with fear as she got even closer. Every instinct his body told him to flee as fast as possible. He turned quickly about to make his get away, only to get his antler caught in the over-hang of the tree. Crap! His senses screamed to get away.
"T-t-they're more for sh-how. A-a-and I doubt they w-w-would so much against y-y-you..." It was true, he never really used his antlers against anyone. Usually they just got stuck in random things. Though he had seen males of his breed use them with other males, though usually just to get a mate. And he had one of those. He didn't need or want anyone else. The thought of Shula made a smile curve his lips and suddenly wasn't afraid, at least for this moment. "I don't want females fawning over me." he backed up and shook his head violently against the tree that held him hostage. "What do you want with me? "

the sight of this poor male getting stuck in the tree made Frostbite giggle. his little attempt of escape was so pathetic. she just stood and watched him try and shake free of the tree, but then something changed. she could hear it in his voice, that little bit of confidence that he had pulled from who knows were. not like it would do him much of any good, even if he did try and escape she was the fastest of her pack.
"isnt it obvious? im out looking for a mate, and i found you sitting here looking all lonely." she flashed him a smile. "how about it handsome, you want some babies?" not like she would ever mate with such a pathetic lump. she was really just looking for something that would spark him into a fight, and since he had mentioned that he didnt want females all over him she thought that this would do the trick.

Tristian couldn't help but freeze a moment in complete and utter shock. She couldn't be serious! His eyes bulged, then narrowed on her as she continued to get closer. His slender body still screamed for him to get as far away from this freaking a** female as possible, but he couldn't get free fast enough. He shook antlers with all the strength that he had, leaves and twigs scattering the air around him as he fought for his freedom. "Never..." He spat.
He reared up as high as he could manage, then pulled down as hard as he could until he fell to his hunches, bringing branches, leaves and twigs along with him. At last, he was free.
Gazing back at the female his heart continued to pound and his eyes filled with terror. He had no choice. If he was going to make it out of this, there was only one way to do it. Or at least he'd have to try. Anything to make it back to Shula. "G-go after s-s-someone else b-better suited." And then he was off, to his hooves and into the darkness of the forest.

in a flash the stag free and gone. Frostbite frowned as she watched the poor thing run away. "how rude, I dont even think he told me his name." she looked around to see if there was anything else to do, but there was nothing that really caught her eye. she did a quick stretch then got down into a sort of pouncing position. "on your mark, get set, go!" she took off after the male that had so rudely rejected her. no harsh feelings of course, she was just so bored.
for a while she followed his trail through the woods. he had gotten a lot farther than she had expected him to get. his trail was easy to follow. little broken branches, not to mention she caught little whiffs of fear. not the stags fear, but the fear of the mice and little animals that he had disturbed in his escape. there, she could see him. Frostbite let out a howl for the chase and picked up her speed, his scent tickling her nose.

Tris darted around trees, jumped rocks and dashed through bushes. And for once he was surprised his antlers didn't get stuck on or in something, but he was probably moving to fast for them to really stick. A howl sounded behind him and his head shot back, looking for any traces of the female behind him. She wasn't in sight, yet, but he couldn't help but shiver. That female gave him the willies.
His hoof caught something and once again went tumbling. Landing on his side, he realized the culprit was a lifted root and scowled at it.

And there he went. Frostbite was beginning to fall behind, but the stallion went flailing to the ground. she sighed and caught up to him. she looked down at him with a disappointed look on her face. "you know, you really are just a pathetic sight to behold. there is no fun in this game if you are going to keep tripping on every root or rabbit that crosses your path." she looked around then back at the male. "if you would like we can go play tag in a field or something more suited to your level." she had no intentions of hurting him, not seriously anywho. Frostbite was just so dang bored, but maybe a good bite to the butt would motivate him to be a better team player. she leapt at him with her mouth wide open, ready to deliver a n** to the rear.
