This is the crevice entrance to Sunagakure. Anyone leaving or entering must go through the gates. The entrance is patrolled by a squad of ANBU from above, and have shinobi of Special Jōnin rank or higher standing beside the crevice viewing everyone leaving and entering the village. Beyond the entrance is a desert which takes others out and into the village.
When entering the village, present yourself to the two ninja standing guard. Be sure to state this information about your character: name, rank, village, business in the village, and anything else notable.

The area is on Yellow Alert - Rumors of threats, or minor problems with others
The area is on Orange Alert - Intelligence has proof of a threat or attack, and the threat is imminent
The area is on Red Alert - We have engaged the enemy
