Today was the day!
Well, it was another day. Another day to try to get the attention of the lovely Ruva and maybe even the day he’d make his final attempt… if she reacted positively, of course. And this time he came with reinforcements as his twin brother walked by his side.
“I can’t see her! Where is she?!” Samawati was carrying a good number of flowers in his mouth so the impatient voice came out as a barely perceptible muffled jumble of words. Blue eyes – the only physical trait that differentiated him from his twin – searched for the pale shape of the lioness, dodging the colorful flowers in their way. “Can you see her?”

Today was 'the day'...
That's what head been hearing since dawn from his brother. Who wakes up at dawn!? To go.. picking flowers of all thing? Pink eyes rolled skywards in exasperation as he reluctantly followed Samawati to where the lioness recently had their hunt. Supposedly Ruva was still lingering in the area.
He turned his eyes to the identical male beside him when he began speaking, not even bothering to suppress his grin. His brother looked just a bit ridiculous with all those flowers in his mouth, to the point he apparently couldn't even see. He was never falling in love if THIS is what it does to a male...
" Patience, patience! " He chuckled out in reply, nudging his brother to the side so he wouldn't stumble over a small pile of rocks he couldn't see coming. " She's probably over the next hill, isn't there a watering hole around there? " He said thoughtfully, the question rhetorical. Why was he even here? Right.. To cheer his brother up once he was shot down. Again. It had become quite a sad little pattern. And he really did have to admire his brother for continuing to try...

Today wasn't the day. She had already figured that out early on. One day she would show up that brutish Idris and reveal her for the true horror that she was. But today, Ruva was content staring at her own flawless perfection in the water's reflection. Good looks and brains? Honestly, how one lioness could be this blessed was beyond her.
Ruva gently swept her mane to the left side of her face, posed, and went to repeat on the right when she heard voices. She instnatly groaned. Was that...? Reluctantly, she turned to look over her shoulder. Her scowl deepened with horror. Good Gods, not them again! Couldn't that boy take a hint?

“Waterhole?” Samawati repeated, head turning abruptly as he followed his brother’s pink gaze. A few petals flew into the air and were quickly picked up by the gentle breeze. The blue-eyed twin let out a soft huff as his brother pushed him away from danger but he quickly realized he’d just dodged a nasty fall and he brushed against Waridi appreciatively. “Oooh. Right!”
And there she was, a vision under the soft morning light, his lovely Ruva. The young lion puffed up his chest proudly, lifting his head to show off the flowers the twins had picked up earlier. He was certain she had glanced their way and the older lioness’ pink eyes – only a little darker than his twin’s – didn’t seem very pleased with their arrival but surely she’d change her mind once he’d presented his colorful gift.
“Gooood morning, Ruva!” Samawati said cheerfully, dropping the flowers in front of Ruva. “These are for you!”

" Good morning, Ruva. " Waridi said far less enthusiastically than his twin as he padded past the both of them to the watering hole for a drink. The way he say it, it was a lose-lose situation for him... Either his brother was rejected. Yet again. And he had to spend the rest of the day cheering him up. Or Ruva finally gave in, as unlikely as it was, and he had to spend the rest of the day avoiding their sickening love, and his brother's elation.
Nope. There really was no good outcome for him.
He rolled his eyes a bit, settling down at the watering hole a bit away from the pair, lazily watching a few fallen leaves blow across the water. Perhaps they wouldn't even notice if he took a nape, between Ruva's glaring and Samawati's obsession...

Smile. Pretend like you like them. Ruva schooled her frown into a charming smile. As talented of an actress as she was, there was only so much false happiness the lioness could put out. "Good morning Samawati," She politely nodded his way, then towards his brother. "Waridi."
Oh. Oh Gods. Was that slobber on those poor flowers? "Oh, well, thank you. You really, reeeeaaaalllly didn't have to." Ruva reached out to smell them, barely hiding her revulsion. "They're lovely, but surely they aren't the only thing you came all this way for? You two must have a busy schedule today, and I wouldn't want to keep you from it, so maybe I should just take them and go."

Oh, nice. She was accepting his flowers!
The blue eyed adolescent glanced at his brother and gave him a satisfied wink, completely oblivious to the purple-eyed lioness’ actual mood.
“Hey… wanna know something about Idris?” he said quickly with a slightly mischievous tone as soon as Ruva mentioned leaving. It was somewhat disappointing that she was willing to part ways so quickly instead of visibly hoping to spend some time with him but Samawati was nothing if not optimistic. And he was sure he had a tasty bit of information she might like to have. And it was actually a real one this time.

Waridi placed a paw over his face, shaking his head in dismay when the two were focused on each other once more. Gossip? Not exactly the most effective path into the girl's heart. Still, gossip about Idris... That might be worth something to her. The two didn't seem to get along so well, after all, despite outward appearance.
He pitched in as well so perhaps Ruva wouldn't just brush his twin off as making more rumors for entertainment, or to keep talking to her. " Ahh, that? No no! You shouldn't tell her that.. I mean, isn't that a little too private for us to discuss? I can't imagine how poor Idris would feel if she knew that was getting around... " He said, hiding a smirk under his paw as he tried to peak Ruva's interest further about the information his brother had.
Damn his need to see his twin happy.

Did she want to know something about Idris? That was like asking if the sun would shine tomorrow. Of course she wanted to know!
"Oh?" Ruva sat down with an interested smile. While Samawati had originally been the one to gain her interest, it was Waridi that held it. Since joining the pride, the manipulative lioness had quickly learned that allies were an important component to becoming successful, and she was beginning to believe that these two were likely candidates. Even if it was a pain.
"Don't tell me you don't trust me?" Ruva placed a paw over her chest, looking ever so forlorn. "Besides, if it was so private, then she wouldn't have let it slip in the first place, now would she? So how about you tell me what it is you know about Idris and I might just let you meet me here again tomorrow evening."

The blue-eyed twin glanced at his brother and threw a discreet wink his way, grateful for his clever support.
“We spent all morning picking up these flowers. We had to walk a bit far in order to find some as pretty as you. I mean… almost as pretty as you.” He said slowly as if trying to emphasize how much work he’d put into his little gift as well as build up the suspense regarding his next piece of information. He didn’t hold in it for very long though not just because his gossip this time wasn’t of the strongest kind but probably because he was physically unable to stop himself.
“And when we came back, I saw Idris going up Umaarufu and lie next to him. They were looking mighty cozy sharing the shade of a tree, you know.” Or maybe they were just talking about the weather… whatever, it was no crime to make his “report” a little more colorful. He wondered what Ruva would think of the potential couple. She seemed to be interested in just about anything that was related to Idris. “If we go back now, we can probably still see them.” And he’d be happy to escort her, of course. It would almost be a date… even if a rather freaky one at that.
