The day was hot, the sun high and he was comfortable, Umaarufu lay in the shade of a tree, not just any tree, one of those trees with the really thick trunks. It was a young one and it didn't much matter what the tree was called but it was niggling on his mind. No, it wasn't the tree that was niggling on his mind it was something else.

Acacia! Thats what the tree was called. Recalling this didn't clear his mind, didn't restart his calm thoughts. If anything it worried him that remembering the name of the tree hadn't just sent him back in to his usual blissful stupor.

He didn't know, he hoped it was that he hadn't been in the new pride for very long, he never felt this uncomfortable ever, usually any sort of weird feeling would wash away from his memory as soon as he thought of it, he had never been one for worrying. Letting out a heavy huff, he closes his eyes and squishes himself closer to the, uhhhh, tree with a really fat trunk. Hopefully a little nap would chase away this feeling of sheer uneasiness.

Idris glared up at the sun, lilac eyes squinting into the light. Did it have to make the ground so hot? It was making her uncomfortable. Well, honestly, she hadn't truly been comfortable since she had joined this ragtag group. Determined to not let her discomfort show though, she set her jaw and went in search of shade; as well as a reprieve from the coziness the others in the group seemed to be enjoying. She wasn't used to such quiet. What was the secret?

Flicking her ears, she spotted one of the males laying about. What was his name? She hadn't bothered to find out yet. Still, he had found some rather delightful looking shade. Not much, but it would grow as the sun set. He could share, right? "You." She said as she entered the meager shade, sighing mentally in relief to be out of the sun. "What's your name?"

The big fluffy male smiled at the female, nudging himself a little out of the shade so she could settle herself beside him. This put some of his butt in the sun but that wasn't important, the female was clearly suffering from the bright lights of the sky.

"Umaarufu, thats me, born with that name." He chuckles a little, he considered himself born with the name not given it.

Shaking his head slightly he settles his deep blue eyes on the female. He wondered if he should tell her about his uncomfortable feeling. They had all come here together after all. Joined this pride as a ragtag group of lions in need of a place to rest their rumps. No, he wouldn't say anything. It was probably just the sun it often made him uncomfortable when it was so very high in the sky.

He knew it was't the sun that strange unnerving feeling had never happened to him before, he should say something, maybe..Yes...No..hoom..Maybe if he just shut his eyes again it would go away...

With a rather surprised twitch of her ears as she noticed the male make room for her, she gave him a small nod of thanks and curled up where she could fit without invading too much of his space. Shade was a precious comodity in such a place. It was unusual for her to see a stranger so willingly share it. Well, they were in the same pack now...

"Umaarufu." She repeated, letting the name sink into her memory. He seemed nice enough. He had shared his shade after all. Maybe she could ask him... No. Surely she would sound rediculous to someone who shared so readily. But, then again... Ugh! This heat was making her soft! After quite some time of silence, she sighed and shook her head. "Don't you think it's a little too peaceful?" She asked bluntly, eyes looking openly to the male once more. "What kind of pride goes about like we have been? Without hardly an arguement worth being called such. It isn't natural."

The soft tan male smiled lightly, his eyes opening in a drowsy manner, as he laid his blue eyed gaze on the female. "Yup thats me." He enjoyed the silence though the feeling of sheer unease still niggled at him.

When the lioness spoke again he almost jumped out of his fur at her simple, blunt question. He blinks owlishly before a sheepish smile spread across his maw. "I'v been feeling.." He pauses for a moment trying to find the right word, not sick, not queasy, not upset, "Uneasy." He confesses, it felt good to say what had been weigning on his mind to someone else, he just wished he knew what exactly was on hi mind that formed this, funny, feeling.

"I though it was maybe something in the air here, its the..The quiet or maybe the noise. Theres so many lions here.." he shakes his big fluffy head and sighs heavily. "I don't usually feel this uncomfortable...Its a new feeling for me." He beams in a silly manner, he didn't usually hold on to such feelings for such a long time, he had, had this feeling all day and no amount of trying to doze in the shade was making it go away. It was a conundrum, maybe talking about it with the female would help though?
Maybe...

Tail twitching irritably as she waited for his reply, her eyes widened as the male revealed his thoughts. "So it's not just me." She murmured out loud, eyes turning to scan the horizon again. Her twitchy tail slowed as Umaarufu elaborated on his reply.

"Exactly. All these lions from different parts of the land, all thrown together. And yet, it's as though..." She frowned slightly, unsure of how to phrase it. If she wanted to be positive, she could say they were like a puzzle that fit together. But, she wasn't feeling positive. "Yes... uneasy." She raised her head, trying to look a little more confident than she felt. "Doesn't it feel... like a calm before a storm? This peace can't last forever." Her brow furrowed lightly. "....Can it?" A pride that never fights within itself... Unbelievable!

The big male looked deeply thoughtful, his deep blue eyes scanning over the female, perhaps they were just nervous of this new place? He pondered voicing this. "I'v never been in a pride before do you think they are always like this?" Umaarufu had always been a rogue and joining the band of followers had been the first sensible thing he had ever done. Of course he hadn't known he was going to come with that group to the big pride where lions teemed out of every orifice.

Letting out a sigh he shakes his fluffy head "It feels like the world is about to crumble. Like though my paws are on solid ground it will slip out from under me." He huffs and raises a curious brow at the golden female.

"I'v never had such a feeling before maybe its a feeling that all pridal lions have?" He looked around briefly spotting a few more lions in the distance that didn't seem to be having any worries, they were just sleeping each one with a smile on his maw. "I don't know what it is..." He trails off settling his chin on his paws. "If i can..maybe this place is heaven?" He frowned, it didn't feel like heaven to him it felt like something was wrong, he just couldn't put his paw on it.

Letting out a shallow sigh the fluffy male let a small tweak of a smile lift his lips "I feel better now I have said something, all that bottling up was making me very nervous." He grins foolishly his deep blue eyes dancing with laughter. Obviously all he needed to know was that someone else was worried too and if someone else was worried, well he didn't have to worry, at least until they needed him to do something about what ever they were worried about...Yay!

Her tail curled around her leg, head lowering to rest on her tawny paws. Idris was silent for a long moment, contemplating his words. The ground coming out from under their paws? That had already happened to her. At least last time she hadn't seen it coming. She hadn't had the time to sit and feel it hovering like this did. "No." She answered finally, her tone a little short. "Feeling like this about your pride is not normal. ...It's nothing but trouble." She grouched, turning her head away slightly. "Not heaven. Trouble."

She snorted as the male voice his relief. "You feel better?" She scoffed sourly, her shaded eyes rolling back toward the male. "We've accomplished absolutely nothing with this conversation. There are only more questions. How in the land can you feel better from such a useless discussion?" Her tail twitched in irritation again. Idris had never really had 'talking it out' on her list of coping strategies. It often took more patience than she had.

"I'v never been in a pride before, so I will take your word for it." He shrugs calmly and shakes his head closing his eyes for a moment. He couldn't fix anything unless it was broken so while nothing was broke and he had voiced his worries to someone he could at least relax a little.

Umaarufu grinned sheepishly, he had upset the female it seemed. The feeling of unease was still with him, it had just dulled a bit. "Well..I can't do anything about a feeling. Have to wait for something to happen. If something happens it can be fixed." He stated rather naively, his dep blue eyes smiling.

"Until then, I think I'll take a nap." He yawned widely and closed his eyes his mane falling in to them. "When the feeling becomes a thing I can help." He huffs "You should take a nap too, no point worrying when nothing has happened yet. Just have to live with the weird feelings until they change to something more solid and solvable." He shrugs his shoulders again though the movement was more of a furry shuggle as his head was laid upon his front paws. "Maybe a nap will make it go away..Maybe..Maybe it's nothing but a feeling..Maybe..."

Flicking her ears, she huffed and turned her eyes away again. She hated when someone else was right. Unless she took the time to actually go out and interact and try to figure out what might be causing such unrest... Well, she'd just have to live with it. Wait for it to become something that was fixable. A surprisingly basic idea.

But... could she really sit with such a feeling in her gut? Nap? Her lip lifted in a silent snarl. Maybe she should try to figure out what the problem was... Umaarufu was using too many 'maybe's for her to settle fully. Instead of actually napping as it had been suggested, she stretched out with her eyes half open, watching the heat radiate off the hard-baked earth.
