 Today was a very exciting day! Nigiri was getting to go into the forest for the first time by himself. Daddy Nori had nearly cried, but Papa Gun said it was time to let him have a little bit of independence. He wasn't allowed to go in that far, but this was a big deal. He'd never been allowed to go off on his own before. It had been a huge deal just to get to go now. He was determined not to get in trouble or else he'd never get to go anywhere again until after he was grown up and had foals of his own or something. Probably not even then if it was up to Daddy Nori. Frolicking through the woods, Nigiri stopped to examine some flowers. They were really lovely, and yellow. He leaned his head down to them to breathe in the scent. However, his eyes welled up with tears and his nose started to tickle until he sneezed. He found himself sitting on the forest floor a bit confused.

Isadora looked behind her, making sure her mother was still okay with her going to explore. She was supposed to be taking a nap with Trinity, as they had stayed up slightly late the previous night. Isadora, however, was no where near sleepy. How she could sleep when an obvious invitation to explore presented its self was beyond her. She giggled to herself and, with one glance back, wiggled into the woods, squeezing in between the bushes.
She looked around the woods wondering where she should begin. She knew if she was gone too long her mother would come in search of her and honestly, how could she have that with the possibility of meeting a new friend? She was however starting to get nervous. Hopefully she met someone soon, she really hated the idea of being alone too long. How would it be if no one saw her for any length of time and then just..forgot her? She shook the silly thoughts from her head and jumped about a foot in the air when she heard a shout? And a thump. Her eyes wide she peered around. "H-hello?" She whispered, having being startled by the noise.

Nigiri shook his head, trying to clear it. That sneeze had been rather a doozy, knocking him off of his feet. He tilted his head, having heard the tiniest of whispers. "Hello?" He said back a bit more loudly. He hoped it wasn't a skinwalker, or a kalona. He was really fast, but...he always tripped. That could be very bad indeed.
However, peeking around he saw a flash of pink and purple. Trotting over to see who or what it was, he saw a young filly about his own age. "Ohh----Are you lost?" He smiled at her, "I'm Nigiri." Oops...he wasn't supposed to share his name with strangers, still...she looked nice enough.

Isadora's attention snapped to the blue and green foal that emerged, happy to see it wasn't something frightening. Although he did look quite different than other foals she had encountered. She giggled with delight. New friend it was to be! She wiggled her vibrant, fluffy tail and went over to him, stopping when her nose was mere inches from his own. Bright eyes searched his face for a moment and then; "Hi there! I'm Isadora Fayth! But you can call me Isadora-Do you want to play?" She knew she said all of this very fast and also knew that if her mother was here she would tell her she was too close and should talk a bit slower. It was also difficult to do so when one was so excited.
Before she got an answer from the foal she moved away slightly but only to nose at his little shoulder wings. "My cousin has wings! His look different than yours though..." She looked back at him, "What do you want to play?" And proceeded to grin brightly.

Nigiri liked her enthusiasm! She was just as excited as him. He laughed a little, his smile almost ear to ear. "That's a pretty name! You're so purple. It's pretty." He'd always liked vibrant colours, and she was really vibrant--colours and spirit wise. "Oh yes! Let's play!"
He interjected all these words inbetween her own so that it sounded like words spouting back and forth in a rehearsed steady rhythm. "They're not wings, they're fins. I'm mostly kelpi...or all kelpi." He wasn't really sure how that worked, "See?" He tilted his head towards his rear, "I have a tail!"
He wiggled excitedly, "I wanna play whatever you wanna play!"

Isadora perked up as he pointed out his own tail and nosed the fin. "Kelpie?" She tilted her head at him with curiosity. "Well, what is that?" She peered at her own tail and wiggled it. His was much different and she grinned with even more excitement. "So can you do special things? Like how my cousin can fly?" She struck a pose suddenly. "We...should...play...." She looked around, loosing her gusto. "Well...what do you like to play, Nigiri?" Bright eyes watched him hopefully. It was a surprise when Isadora couldn't come up with a game to play.

"I can swim super well!" He hopped up and down a little, "I can hold my breath real long too." He thought for a long moment, "Is there water nearby? Can you swim? And a different kind of tail!" He found himself giggling a little.
"I don't have tail hair," he said a little sadly. "Yours is lovely though." He felt a little timid. "Or--or we can play tag!"

Isadora's eyes widened and she pranced in place. "Swim? I don't know if I can swim." She pondered for a moment. "Maybe you can show me how to swim!" A grin flashed to her face. "You must be really good at it!" Gently and playfully she tugged his mane. But then she stared at him for a minute. "I actually don't know where any water is...." Grinning after a moment she nodded. "Maybe we should just play tag! But be warned! I'm REALLY good!" She bumped him gently with her hip, gave a playfully wicked grin and shouted, "Tag!" before speeding off giggling.

For a moment, Nigiri frowned. "I don't know where any is either, but I could teach you if we ever find any."
As she rattled off about tag, he started giggling. Caught slightly offguard, he clumsily stumbled. "No fair! I'll catch you though!" He took off running after her.

Giggling Isadora shouted back at him. "I dunnooo!" She cackled and zigzaged through some trees, actually scrambling over a log, though in the landing process her front legs slipped on the leaves and she fell with her legs sprawled out around her. Blinking, momentarily dazed she forgot she was supposed to be running. She looked behind her where red hooves were attached to blue legs that were pelting toward her.
Isadora shrieked with glee as she hurriedly scrambled to her hooves, but not before slipping around some more. Getting her bearings she raced off again trying to distance herself some more from the pursuing Nigiri, all the while giggling happily.

For a moment, Nigiri was concerned with her crash landing. But as she got up and ran away giggling, he saw the advantage to make up some distance. He moved paralell and stretched out his neck to her skin. "TAG!"
He skidded to a halt, and flailed trying to turn and run the other way.

Isadora blinked when she felt Nigiri's soft nose run into her and swiveled her body in shock, a gleeful gasp being let out of her mouth. "You got me?!" She stared after the blue foal racing away before she snapped from her surprise.
Digging her hooves into the soft earth she threw herself into a run to make up for her momentary shock. She kicked her back hooves and giggled madly. Though she started to notice the difference in the sun and started wondering if she should go back to her mother. She slowed to a trot, her conscious weighing on her. "Hey...Hey Nigiri?" She wanted to tell him she could probably play later, in fact she'd really love to play again if she could get back from checking in.

Nigiri tripped over his own feet and landed with a loud "ooph!" He picked his head up, his legs entangled. "Yeah?" He was out of breath, not even attempting to run since he couldn't seem to untangle himself. "I think..I'm stuck."

Isadora gasped and trotted back over. "Nigiri, I think you are all legs and tail." She giggles and begins helping him untangle all of his limbs. Not completely sure how, but help she does. Though the thought of doing more bad than good does cross her mind for a moment, it doesn't last and she giggles at the tangled mess that is Nigiri. "Nigiri...you're my best friend." She sits after a moment and smiled, contemplating how more to help.

Finally, Nigiri undoes his limbs good enough to flop over in exhaustion. "I think I am too!" He lets out a giggle. It really did seem like that was all there was to him sometimes. He beamed brightly, "You're my best friend too. My very best."
