Eternal Sailor Chaonis was sitting outside the hospital. It was the first time he had come to visit his father, and he wasn't actually doing it. He had, though, brought someone else to visit for him.
Wiggling under his arm was a small corgi. It was excited but confused, and didn't seem to know what was going on. She didn't know who this guy was that picked her up when she had been out walking with the smaller, less happy Darrow and now brought her all the way to this unfamiliar building. She wanted to be his friend though.
He seemed about as interested in it as the smaller Darrow.
Chaonis moved to the window he had finally discovered was his father's and peered in. The man was asleep inside, with his window open. Apparently he wasn't too concerned about whatever or whoever had put him in the hospital coming back. Shaking his head, Chaonis moved to drop the small dog the short distance from the window to the floor of the room, imagining she would know what to do.
She ran right over to the bed and began to whine hopelessly, bouncing up and down, unable to reach Tony. Chaonis left, not helping her. She would figure it out.
Pulling away from the window, he looked rather like a criminal scoping the place out. He dropped down from the ledge and decided that was his good deed for the month. Plus, it got the dog out of his hair for a little while. Good times.

Ixion was not in the area to visit the hospital; no one that the boy new had been injured lately so he had to no reason to go to the hospital. What Super Sailor Ixion was really interested in was the strong power signature he was sensing. There was an Eternal senshi in the area, Ixion simply wanted to meet them. Eternal statue meant power, and that meant that the senshi had to be strong and a survivor. Maybe they could teach the young Ixion a thing or two? The chibi senshi desperately wanted to be a good fighter, more than just a powered up paper weight.
When he came closer and saw that it was a vaguely familiar uniform, Ixion let out a bit of a snort. Chaonis? That giant jerk who hit him with a paintball had become an eternal. NO FAIR. NOT FAIR AT ALL. The boy turned to retreat away, hopefully before he could be spotted.

Chaonis felt the energy signature and turned just as Ixion was trying to escape. There was no room for him to escape, and the older senshi grinned when he saw the boy.
And then he arched an eyebrow, his expression clearly indicating that there was going to be some swift and cutting mocking in the near future.
"Looks like someone got a pity upgrade, huh? What did you do, pout at a cat until it gave you a big, pretty bow?" He seemed to have skipped the usual 'hello' period and gone straight for the meat of the conversation. He wasn't much for casual conversation anyway.
"Or maybe you remembered some of the stuff I showed you, huh? You're welcome." Yeah, he was going to take credit for that one, no doubt. Sure, he had mostly hassled poor Ixion the last time they met, but he had still seen the boy hold his own, and he wasn't actually surprised that Ixion had been able to progress.
In a way, he felt oddly proud, and not just because his ego told him he had helped. But for Ixion. Not that the chibi senshi would ever know that unless Chaonis deigned to share with him.

The younger senshi whipped around and stared at Chaonis dead in the eye; his eyes narrowed. “No! I earned this! The right way, unlike you… you probably tortured a cat to get butt-wings. Was it worth it, Feather-butt?”
Under normal circumstances, Ixion thought very little of the eternal butt-wings, they were like a status symbol. And eternals were something to admire. In this case, they were something to pick back with. On Chaonis, buttwings just looked, well, silly. Sure Ixion had his own giant a** bow, but Chaonis was never someone he would ever picture has been even remotely angelic. “If you mean how to hit someone when their back is turned, then no I didn’t remember what you ‘showed’ me.”
Ixion crossed his arms. He also wondered what a guy like Chaonis was doing near the Hospital. Probably picking on the sick and the elderly. “What’re you doin’ here anyways?”

"First, I wouldn't waste my time torturing a cat, when I can waste my time messing with you. And second, these are not feathers. So don't hate."
He liked how defensive Ixion was about it. It meant he had pride in what he had earned, and wasn't going to take s**t from the older senshi. Not that it would stop Chaonis from flinging it.
"And I make these look good."
When he was asked what he was doing at the hospital he shrugged and shook his head, opting not to answer at first. He then thought that might be too suspicious, so he grunted.
"Just patrolling the area," he said. That was believable. He wasn't known for being a nice guy, so the idea that he was visiting someone, let alone bringing something to that someone that would make him a bit happier while he was stuck in the hospital, wouldn't come up. He had a good cover, just in the guy he was. And he worked hard for that.
"What about you? Trying to peep into some windows?"

“They’d look better if they covered your face.” Ixion stuck out his tongue at the older senshi. His attitude was a mix of simple child-teasing, which was honestly fun, and genuinely being rubbed the wrong way by Chaonis in general. Nothing that couldn’t be corrected in time, but for the most part Ixion viewed the older senshi as just a punk.
“Patrolling for targets?” After Ixion said it, he realized that Chaonis actually didn’t have his usual weapon with him. The paint gun was absent. Strange.
“Peep? I’m not a pervert.” Ixion said it bluntly in a moderately offended tone. “No, I’m out patrolling just like you supposedly are. Bet you were the one really peeping.” Ixion wouldn’t put it passed him.

Chaonis laughed. He had shot the younger boy with his paintball gun when they first met, so it made sense he thought Chaonis was going to do it again. He grinned at the young male, shrugging his shoulders leisurely.
"Well, I was thinking about it, but there's nothing really interesting to look at in there. Just sick people. Not really my thing."
He shrugged again, then tried to move them away from the hospital. The further they got from his good deed, the better. He wasn't too keen on being caught, or explaining himself. Not that his father would recognize him like this, but he would rather not take the chance.
"You need to show me what this new you can do, I think," he said. It didn't sound like a suggestion, so much as an order. He had no choice in the matter, really, as Chaonis would bother him and prod him until he proved himself anyway.
The easiest way to appease him and get rid of him would be to attack him, or to find a youma to fight against.
"Get any stronger with your make over? Or are you really just playing dress up?"

Reluctantly, Ixion moved to follow Chaonis. Sticking around the hospital wasn’t that good of an idea, considering on how busy and crowded the area could get. No one could ever tell when ‘accidents’ were going to happen in Desinty City.
“Oh? You want to see what I can do?” There was a hint of slyness in the boy’s voice. It was payback time.
Ixion dropped behind the older senshi, putting a bit of distance between himself and Chaonis. Then he called out ‘Ixion Ember Blitz” and shot two glowing hot coals at Chaonis’s back. Just like how Chaonis had shot him when they first met, Ixion was getting him back in a similar fashion.

The Eternal Senshi of Danger was glad to be getting away from the hospital. It meant less of a chance of his father seeing him. He worried that, even with the glamour, the older Darrow would be able to recognize his son. And the very last thing he wanted was his already overbearing and protective father to find out he was a senshi.
Though maybe it would have been a good thing. Tony did seem to have close bonds with senshi, though Chaonis didn't know who or which ones or why. He just knew that Tony did not believe senshi to be evil, was often involved in harrowing, life threatening events with senshi, and held no grudges. He would sometimes say things in passing, when the news was giving senshi a hard time, that the media had it all wrong.
One time, Nate had gotten his father to speak about the first time his leg was injured, though he had done so on accident and hadn't really been listening. Still, he learned that Tony was very close to the senshi that had saved his life, and wanted to repay her. He had stopped talking after that, though.
Chaonis couldn't help but feel jealous. Would his father care about him more if he knew he was a senshi? Or would he just not care either way? And why should Nate care either way? Maybe it was better for them to stop trying to pretend they could be a family at all.
When the coal hit his back he hadn't been expecting it, and he looked back at Ixion in surprise. Now his white, plastic armor had a large coal stain on it, and it was ringing with the impact of the hot embers. Burns remained, though Chaonis could not see them. He could hear and smell the scorching, though, and was glad he was wearing the armor.
"Oh, you want to play that way, do you?" Chaonis said, grinning and punching his fist into his own hand. He turned and started to loom toward Ixion, taking large steps to bring him closer faster. Then he charged.

This was the kind of fun that Ixion lived for. As well as the kind that made him like Chaonis just a little bit more. There was just something more playful than angry in the older senshi’s manner. The fun would come in rough housing, which for a growing kid like Ixion came less often then he would have liked.
Ixion grinned back as Chaonis charged towards him, he took hold of part of his bow and held it up. “Toro!” He shouted, before trying to leap out of the way of the senshi who could likely be described with a number of ‘bull’ word adjectives.

A bull was perhaps a fitting description for Chaonis, indeed. He certainly had no fondness for china or china shops, for one. And there were many other resemblances between his personality and that of an angry, too long penned up bull in constant search of pay back.
Chaonis charged, then ran by Ixion as he pulled away. Skidding to a stop, he turned and grinned at the other before charging again.
This time, though, he brought his hands forward in an effort to catch the younger senshi. Just because he as smaller and younger didn't mean he was completely helpless. Chaonis didn't have to go super easy on him, even if they were just playing.
If he paused to think about it, he would wonder why he was playing at all. He wasn't exactly a friendly sort, but rough housing was always welcome. And, in his way, he was treating Ixion like the brother he never had. Picking on him, making his life difficult, but still wanting to look out for him without giving himself away.
But those thoughts didn't occur to him, and instead he focused on being a bull, who had hands to grab instead of horns to gore.

When Chaonis charged at Ixion again, he attempted the same move by trying to step aside. It had worked once, why not again? He didn’t expect Chaonis to actually catch him.
Except he did. Even though Ixion tried to step away, Chaonis was bigger and a bit faster then Ixion anticipated. The young senshi got caught in Chaonis’s hands. Darn that senshi’s longer arms! Ixion couldn’t help but laugh a bit as he struggled to free himself from the older senshi’s grip. He pushed and tried to shove Chaonis off.

Chaonis laughed, despite himself, having fun in a simple, non aggressive way for once. It was kind of strange, really, for him to be laughing without being a jerk about it. Mostly anyway, as he had been picking on the kid but that gave way to rough housing.
It really was like having a younger sibling.
"Not so fast, must be that big bow weighing you down, huh?"
He laughed and shook his head, freeing the younger senshi after all but hoisting him off the ground and wrestling him around. It was lucky both boys were on the tall side: Chaonis was still able to feel much bigger than the kid and thus use his height and weight to his advantage.
Freeing him, Chaonis grinned, hands on his own hips now.
"It isn't an easy task, getting yourself a fancy upgrade like that. You did a good job, you know, whatever you did to earn it. But that doesn't mean you're anywhere near tough enough. So don't let it go to your head." You know, like Chaonis always did.

“At least I don’t have a big head weighing me down.” Ixion retorted in a playful teasing manner.
When he was set down, the kid crossed his arms and stared at Chaonis, as if he was waiting for him to do something jerky, despite the dare-he-say-it fun they just had. But what Ixion got was a compliment. A compliment from Chaonis, what a rare thing!
Ixion smirked, “I won’t if you don’t.” Ixion had some irreverence for eternal senshi, but that didn’t mean they knew everything all the time either.

Chaonis grinned.
"How about you keep training and getting stronger, and I'll keep kicking you down and reminding you that you're not there yet? Seems like an even trade off to me."
He would, anyway. He'd keep his eye on the young boy, make sure he stayed safe. And answer any call he ever made to his faux-brother/enemy. Rivals or not, they were on the same side, and Chaonis actually liked him.
"Alright, I'm bored. So I'm going to get out of here. Don't slack off."
Chaonis could slack off all he wanted, because he was always awesome. If Ixion wantd to be anywhere near as stronger as Chaonis thought himself, then he would have to work for an eternity. and he still might not ever catch up.
But that was the ego thing again.
