It was nice to be in a pride with family and people he loved. Sure his mate's family was 'eccentric' but he was starting to like it more and more. It was a change from his bachelorhood- lazy without a care or responsibly in the world. Now- he had cubs. Even that shocked him how good of a father he was; or how much he enjoyed it. He might *gasp* even consider having more in the future. He looked down at his daughter who he'd smuggled out of cub daycare.
"So Dianala how are you enjoying freedom..." He lowered his voice. "Yea and don't go telling anyone where you've been today...you've been 'sleeping' if anyone asks." "Sleeping?" Her tail bobbed excited behind her. "Okie dad!" She bubbled and nuzzled his front legs each time he padded forward each step.

Taiga padded slowly across the sands, walking closely aside Mana as they explored the lands of the Tuait’tekem. The recent encounters with shades of his past had left him a bit on edge and wary as they moved about the strange land. The inhabitants were friendly enough, and the place seemed nice, but this did nothing to put him at ease for the moment. “What do you think of this place so far?” He spoke to Mana, though his gaze was kept forward.

"It's quite lovely. Better having a home then none at all." Mana replied, turning her head to look towards to her mate. They had been welcomed in to pride with open arms, something that was a wonderful change from having hyenas and wild dogs on their tails. Bright eyes traveled over the dunes, examining the architecture of the pride. She was quickly growing more and more fond of the Tuait'tekem though and their ways, though they had yet to actually hold a real conversation that wasn't just someone trying to explain everything to them at once. The lioness stepped lightly beside Taiga, keeping pace with him as the pair explored. She was much more willing for change and far more accepting of others then the larger lion was despite suddenly being thrown into the troubles of Taiga's past. Luckily though, they seemed to be just that; the past, once more.

Kaume saw the pair in the distance walking to the pride. He didn't see them as much of a threat but he halted his daughter and walked a good distance between them and the new comers (just in case). He just couldn't take any chances. He loved her so much after all. "Just stay behind me princess. I don't want anything to happen to you."
His daughter gave a nod and flattened herself against the ground. "Papa...they look nice though. I think you should trust them." She butted her head against his back leg where she was now hiding.
"Yes I admit they do look nice...but I love you...and I have to make sure they aren't going to do anything- well..." He wanted to say the words, bad, kidnap, or something equally terrifying. But he didn't want to worry his daughter. "Silly. They might do something...silly. So just stay there so I can make sure your safe."
He raised his maw toward the pair and gave them a friendly greet. "I'm Kaume. And who might you be, friend or foe?"

“Yes, it is nice. Staying might not be so terrible an idea, it would be nice to be able to stay in one place for now.” He was quickly growing tired of running from shades of his past and hoped that after the last encounter that he had finally rid himself of them.
Taiga noticed the pink pair ahead easily enough, they weren’t the most hard to see lions in this sandy place. They had also clearly seen Taiga and Mana, their attention placed on the two as they neared, and then the larger one spoke. Taiga slowed and came to a halt, close enough that he could speak easily, but far enough should he need the space between them. He didn’t feel threatened in this place, but he didn’t want to let his guard down so quickly. “Friend, I should hope. I am Taiga. We have come seeking refuge and have been welcomed to look around the place.” His gaze shifted momentarily to the cub standing behind the larger male, before turning to the lioness beside him.

Mana looked to the distance, seeing the other lion approaching the pair, questioning their identities and asking their alignment. “We are no foe, friend-Kaume. I’m Mana, an apprentice under Valetudo’Sero, who appears as a goddess who understands much of the properties of herbs and plant life. This,” The pale lioness turned to look at her companion for a moment before turning her attention back to Kaume, “ This is my dear friend and companion Taiga, as he has already introduced. We are both seeking a place to finally settle down.” She wanted to include about the possibility of beginning a family, but that was neither the time nor the place to discuss such a thing with the green and black lion.
“We mean no harm to you,” Her attention turned toward the pink cub behind him, “Or your kin.” There was an obvious resemblance between the two, so determining how they were related was fairly easy.

He certainly believed they were friendly from there greeting. He was still cautious though around his daughter. But things seamed calm enough. He lowered his head between his legs and whispered to his daughter. "You can greet them from my front paws if you like- but don't stray any further then that love." He lifted his head back up and looked at the pair. "This is my daughter- Dianala." His voice lowered again. "She's not supposed to be out of the temple- so please if you see anyone make no mention of it." He grinned sheepishly. "But I'm pretty new myself-" He said with a change in the topic. "This is the best home I could have asked for, for family, friends, and religion. I hope you find what your looking for. My house will always be open to guests- provided the misses says it's ok." He chuckled at them.
Dianala padded forward from her fathers back paws to his front. "Hello!" She churped up with confidence now that her father had given them a safe ok. "I'm Dianala. And this is my daddy!" She butted into his front leg again. "I love my daddy! Do you have cubs like daddy?" She assumed since they were a pair. It was just habit after being raised in a big family that any two lions together had mounds of cubs. Blame Feleji for that one.

Taiga’s brow’s furrowed lightly at the mention that the cub was not supposed to be out, but said nothing of it. Instead he turned his gaze back to Kaume, a small smile on his maw. “A most gracious offer, though I certainly would not want to impose if it would cause problems.” He gave a small nod of thanks before continuing,”I certainly hope I, well we, find what we are looking for as well.”
Taiga’s attention was caught by the cub as she came to stand between the forelegs of Kuama and introduced herself, before asking a question that caught the black lion off guard. “Uh, no, we do not have cubs.” He had nearly added ‘yet’ to the end, causing his gaze to shift quickly towards Mana and then back. His forepaws shifted beneath him.

“Indeed, a lovely offer and perhaps one day, we will take you on that offer, but for now we would not wish to impose on your family, friend-Kaume.” The two were lovely, cautious, but friendly after introductions. Maybe this was a good place to live after all. Again, it was better then in the open where they could become the prey of anything.
Mana turned her attention downward, looking at the cub that was between the pink male’s legs. “Well hello there Dianala~” She replied happily, looking over the cub and father once before before crouching lower to the ground. “No dear, we don’t have any cubs. We don’t have a safe place to raise them if we did have any. Is this a safe place?” The lioness asked, keeping her questions for the cub while the males chatted. She did have this soft spot for cubs, having met her mentor’s daughter before the teacher herself. They were just easier to get along with, perhaps it was because they were so new to the world and did not know the troubles of it yet.

"Don't worry- you wouldn't be imposing. You'd just be added to an already big family." His mouth turned questionably for a second. How BIG was his mate's family. He never really stopped to count; and even if he did they always seamed to be having more cubs- not to mention to ones that strayed to the demon pride. He couldn't even start to count those. "Yea- it's a BIG family. Two more wouldn't even be a bit of trouble." He chuckled. It was nice to talk to somebody 'new'. Sometimes his mates family was TOO overwhelming.
Dianala took a liking to Mana right away. Even when the pair had been walking in; she trusted her face and her soft look. "Hello there pretty miss." She perked up with a high pitched voice. This was her first adult lioness outside of Feleji- her granddad who normally watched her in the temple. "No cubs?" She looked dishearted for a second. She was always open for playmates. "Don't worry though- grandpa makes everyone have cubs! So you'll have cubs soon enough." She then paused. "That is if you stay...you are staying?" She almost forgot the question asked of her, her mind was racing so fast. "Safe. Yep daddy's paws are ALWAYS safe!" She gave him another nuzzle. "What's your name pretty lady? Mine's Dianala!" She repeated again even more excited.

Taiga’s experience with kids was nearly non-existent. They were usually taken care of by others in his pride, and he had never had to really deal with them before. They were a crucial part of any family he knew, but it had never been part of his job to deal with them himself. Truthfully he felt uncomfortable around them, so tiny and fragile, and he was used to dealing with large lions who were use to fighting. He was happy enough to keep his attention, and conversation more focused on the Kaume for the time being. “A big family, hmm? I had a big family myself, it might be nice to be back in one.” The cub’s statement about her grandfather making everyone have cubs managed to catch his attention, as much as he tried to ignore the curious, tiny little cub, and he shifted his paws once more under him. “How would he make someone haves cubs..?”

Mana smiled back towards the young lioness. “Oh why thank you for the compliment. You very much like your father as well. I’m sure you’ll grow up to be a fine, graceful lady.” The pale lioness couldn’t help but chuckle at the thought of an older lion making lions have cubs. “Well we shall see about those cubs. I’m sure you’d love some friends, wouldn’t you?” She turned her eyes to glance at Taiga at the question of the pair staying before returning the gaze for the pink cub. “I do believe we will be staying. I’m Mana, Dianala. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
Her experience with families was essentially nothing except her time with Valtendu’Sero and her family near the hot spring where Mana stayed for her lessons. Though she did have a mother and father, she had been an only child, growing up in a small group made up of just the three of them. Being part of something larger would be a nice change.

Kaume interrupted the males question to his daughter. "Feleji- granddad...he's harmless. He uh...just brings up the topic alot because he likes being surrounded by cubs; hence why he's the prides nanny." He paused again and looked unsettled at Feleji. "Yea- it's just something you'll get used too." He lowered his voice. "I think he's going seanile anyways...just tell him you'll give him cubs and walk away."
"I hope so Mana." She purred out the name. "I like your name. It's pretty like you!" She blushed threw her pink coat and hid behind her fathers legs for a few seconds. She then looked around his leg to anwser her question. "Yes I would like some more friends...all my cousins are older then me."

“Oh, I see.” Taiga was somewhat relieved at this, that it wasn’t some sort of strange mind control type of thing, and merely the elder lion bringing up the subject a lot. He couldn’t help but give a small chuckle at the statement before replying, “Well thank you for the advice then, should I need it.” Taiga looked over at Mana and smiled, before looking back to Kuame. “It was nice meeting you, the both of you, though I think perhaps I would like to continue exploring this place, get a feel for it if we are to stay.” He gave an appreciative nod towards the pink male before turning to Mana. “Would you like to join me?” With a smile he made his way forward, past Kuame and his daughter, intent on exploring more of this place that may soon be his home.

Mana glanced to Taiga and nodded towards the green and black lion before pushing herself off of the ground and back into a standing position. “Well thank you once more, Dianala. I’m sure we’ll stick around with there being people like you two here.” She dipped her head downward in a motion of respect towards the two, raising it with a genuine smile on her face. “I’m sure we’ll see eachother again soon, considering this pride seems like one large family so far. The lioness moved for the side, passing Kaume and the younger lioness, following after her mate.
