It was a normal day. Nothing spectacular happened on normal days. Tahki found her self an empty table in the library to set her choice of books at so she could study. Nothing special, nothing out of the ordinary, but Tahki had a secret little smile.

The trip to Lizzies was only in a few days for the summer vacation. The gryphon could hardly wait. Part of her was terrified but most of her was pretty okay. It would give her a chance to spend more time with Lizzy and get to know her better.

But right now she was catching up on her summer assignments before that big trip. Having homework during break did not sound appealing in the least. So now Tahki sat behind her pile of books with a pencil in one hand and her chin resting in the other. She was writing down a list of what she needed to for the trip and not actually focused on her assignments.

"Wh-what?"

Tahki looked down and blinked at the paper. Oh, right she needed to work. The gryphon nibbled her eraser some and flipped to a fresh blank sheet with a sigh. This was the last thing she wanted to be doing right now.

Riyo wasn't one for dramatic references, but there weren't many other options when your hands were full.

BOOM came the sound of the door being carefully kicked open by what appeared to be a ghoul carrying a leaning tower of books. It was a little hard to tell, considering she was up to her eyes with literature.

Pausing momentarily before she continued in, the cat ghoul carefully moved up to the front desk. It had been a lot more difficult getting them back then it had been taking them to her dorm, considering this time she didn't have some boil begging to help her carry the load.

But that was a good thing, right? To not have some patchwork guy annoying the hell out of her and taking items from her hands? Yeah, totally. That's why it had taken 15 minutes longer.

Huffing her way over, she sat the great pyramid of book on the check-in desk, her well-dressed features finally coming into view. Had she actually READ all of those? No, not all of them. The one's she hadn't read all the way through, Riyo skimmed.

Wordlessly, the feline stretched her arms upward, the sound of a few popping bones shortly following. What books would she take next?

Riyo's red eyes slowly scanned the area, mainly focusing on the shelves... But she couldn't help glancing at the gryphon student she had never seen before. Looked like she was working on something... And here the cat demon had been, not paying a lick of attention to how loud she was. Oh well... If it had bothered the ghoul, she would certainly say something, right?

Sounds. Lots of sounds. Fast hard and dramatic sounds. They had not gone unnoticed by the gryphon at all. Sure she wore headphones almost twenty four seven but that didn't mean she was blaring her music. Tahki looked up a little from her stack of books to see exactly who and why these sounds were being made.

Some form of cat... insert gender here? The gryphon wasn't sure what the gender of the student before her was. Either gender though the features were pretty. There were to many pretty boys running around campus to rule boil out.

The gryphon nervously adjusted her headphones and sunk a little deeper behind her pile of books.

"..T-thats an awful lot of books..." Was all she said, mostly to her self. The tone taken was a little on the annoyed side but not overly so. Mostly Tahkis words were bland if not a meek.

Then the thought that maybe this student actually needed some help crossed her mind. But no, she heard a cracking noise. BONES? Tahki lifted her head just barely over her books to glance at the cat student.

The meek mumbles about a lot of books caused Riyo's ears to perk, turning fully to the gryphon who happened to be peeking over her own set of books. "Yes, and what about them?" The feline called out to her, though she tried to keep her tone down now that she remembered her manners. She'd be pissed if the shoe was on the other foot, after all.

Folding her arms across her chest, Riyo approached the table Thaki was sitting at. Her tail twitched, her eyes stared directly at the gryphon's face. She was like a looming animal waiting for one wrong move from her target.

The cat demon was fully prepared for some argument to break out, though how much of a challenge this ghoul would be she wasn't sure.

Tahkis brow lifted and ear twitched. D'oh, the girl had heard and seen her. Two strikes for Tahki. Usually the gryphon was pretty good at attracting no attention to her self at all. The grip of her pencil tightened when the cat approached. Ghoul? Judging from the voice Tahki was putting this student under the ghoul categorie.

The gryphon had opened one of her own books and buried her face the best she could when Riyo was looming over her. Mostly because the tension she was starting to sense from the ghoul was quite high.

"I didn't mean anything by it," The book remained in front of her face like a shield, "This is a library though and you were being loud." Her confidence in her self was starting to drop and it showed in the volume change of the second statement. Each word came out more shaky then the last.

"M-maybe next time you should ask for h-help.." Tahki lowered her book half way to stare up at the cat.

With each word growing more shaky than the last, Riyo realized all-too-quickly she was dealing with another Mitsu. Jack dammit.

The feline backed up only slightly to give the gryphon some space. "If I'm loud, you should ask me to be quiet." Her words, though soft, did not slip past the feline's sensitive ears. Especially that last comment.

"And I don't ask for help." Though she skipped the usual spiel about being independent and not needing friends. The feline had said it a few too many this week.

Though, Riyo wasn't sure what she should do now. While part of her was irked at the skittish retorts, the other pictured her lycan... Acquaintance in the exact same spot. Mitsu had the problem of giving in too easily and accepting what anybody said, and most of the time it was hard to gauge whether Riyo had crossed some kind of line. "You could also tell me to leave you alone, if I'm bothering you as much as your body language suggests." Figured she'd throw that out there.

The gryphons ear twitched some as she listened to the ghoul.

"Oh.. umm.." She lowered her book realizing she was coming across as rude. That had not been her intention at all to be rude.

"I... Im sorry for being rude," Her eyes shyly drifted to the piece of paper in front of her. Was this ghoul for real? But the gryphon remembered hers and Buls promise to each other. She wanted to be braver and she wanted to master her fear. How could she if she couldn't deal with a little confrontation every once in a while. Tahki shut her eyes for a moment and took a breath before letting her eyes meet Riyos.

"I don't mind if your looking for a nice place to study but I do mind if you intend to be loud." Her words were crisply formed and well spoken. Still it was clear on Tahkis face she was terrified.

"If you want to study.. that is if you want... uhh.. Theres .. theres plenty of room here. I don't mind sharing this table I mean.." Tahki was a little confused by this ghoul. She seemed pretty forward but her requests had not been unreasonable. Tahki actually agreed with Riyo that she needed to be more forward.

Riyo hadn't really expected an apology. After all, she had been a little rude with her entrance. However, the clear, well formed sentence made up for that.

"Much better." The feline gave a nod of approval, seemingly pleased with the improvement. What a shame Mitsu didn't learn that fast.

At least, it had been, until the gryphon offered her a seat. Well. She supposed everybody had to take baby steps to overcoming their undesired quirks... Riyo included.

Honestly, she had just planned on grabbing a few more books to take back... But the chance to deal with her own problems had reared it's head. She had to get better at dealing with people. Every new face helped, right?

"Sure." She said simply, disappearing only momentarily to grab a new book. The feline had remembered exactly where she left it. Introduction to Hex Spells was the gold printed title on the deep purple book. There had been a small part of her wanting to avoid the study of such things due to... Certain past incidents, but she imagined it was a subject they'd cover in school anyways..

With selection in hand, Riyo took quiet steps back to the table. There was no hesitation as she pulled out the chair across from the gryphon and had a seat. Good posture, no slouching. Only when she finally cracked open the literature did she glance at the gryphon again. Alright. What now?

Tahkis eyes never left the feline ghoul, even when she left to get a new book. The gryphons eyes had stayed firmly on Riyo. Mostly because Tahki was curious and felt a tinge of admiration for such a strong ghoul. Being strong was an obvious characteristic Tahki lacked. Bravery was something Tahki admired in others and assertiveness.

It was only when Riyo took a seat did Tahki open her mouth again.

"So.. My names Tahki... Tahki Yuki... " Tahkis voice faded to a soft whisper but what she said was pretty clear. She fidgeted a little and leaned in on her book almost face planting in to the pages. It was clear to anyone observing that this ghoul here was shy by her body language.

Riyo hadn't noticed the gryphon was staring at her until she sat down, her brow furrowing momentarily at the attention. Was there something on her face? On her coat? Hopefully the ghoul would alert her of such things. She didn't seem like the type to sit back and giggle at that.

"My name is Riyo... Just Riyo." Jack forbid she give anyone her full name. That would be asking for trouble. "And I'm not going to bite." What an odd ghoul. She offers up a seat, most likely to strike up a conversation, but fades out a little every time she tries to start one. It was only a minor inconvenience, however. As long as they were in a quiet place, the feline had no trouble hearing her.

Lets see... Small talk, small talk... "How long have you been attending this school?" Riyo's voice was firm and clear, though she tried to keep the tone down. Whispering was hard since she was used to saying everything in a loud, sometimes demanding manner. In an effort to keep the conversation rolling, she sat the book down on the table, but left it open in case one of them trailed off.

Tahki struggled to put the book down. Her shield, her life line. But it was to late to use it as a defense. She'd already opened her self to , gasp, socializing. If she ever wanted to grasp the concept of fear she'd need to be a lot braver.

The tid bit about 'not going to bite' got a small smile from the gryphon. The book lowered on to the table exposing Tahki to Riyo.

"S-sorry. Habit." She gestured to the book. OH ? School, right. The two of them were students. And honestly, Tahki had never seen Riyo around the halls before. Maybe Riyo thought she was new?

"I've been here for some time. I just finished up my exam and earned the title Knob...." The gryphons cheeks lit up a light pinkish color a little embarrassed but proud. The complexity of unnecessary emotions Tahki could feel would baffle a sane person.

"W-what about you?" Her tone had been a little to loud for library talk.

When Tahki apologized, Riyo gave a nod of understanding. It was obvious the ghoul was nervous about the concept of socializing... Which put her in a similar predicament to the feline. How lovely.

Though she couldn't hide a look of surprise when the gryphon told her she was a second year student. It made her wonder what kind of exams they did. "Congratulations." Was all she offered up, however. No reason to express the disbelief she had that Tahki had managed to make it to second year with how meek and soft-spoken she was.

"I was accepted a few weeks ago." And what a hellish few weeks it had been. Running into douche, after douche, after douche. It wasn't like her standards for tolerable were extremely high (yes they were). "It's been hellish and slightly miserable." She wasn't about to lie about it. "People around here are a bit... Intolerable."

Riyos description of the people of the school being more or less intolerable actually got a bit of a sly chuckle from Tahki. The gryphon full heartily agreed if not for different reasons. Still it was apparent that Tahki was not one to go out of her way to make friends. The features on Tahkis face soften giving her a more relaxed look.

"Oh? So your new?" A small bit of courage flushed over Tahki finding out this small bit of information. Not because she looked down at first years, just a few weeks ago she her self had been a first year after all. But because it meant that maybe Tahki could be of some use for once and possibly offer some help.

"Well if you .. if you need any help Im here. Whats been making it miserable for you?" Her tone was still very calm if not meek but now she possessed a lot more stability in her words.
PostPosted: Sun Aug 14, 2011 10:19 pm

Riyo... Actually looked a little shocked when Tahki laughed at her statement about intolerable people. For the first time since she'd opted for enrollment at the school, a student didn't have a long-winded and undesired speech about how nice people were here and how she should try to make friends and not be alone. "You're the first person to not disagree with me."

The feline also seemed to lighten with that revelation, a sort of relieved sigh escaping her mouth as her posture loosened. Perhaps this wouldn't be as unbearable as she first thought.

"I'm really not the type to ask for help." She reminded the gryphon, but wouldn't say more on it. She had, after all, enlisted Jericho's help to show her around school... When she realized the map she had was about as valuable as the paper it was printed on. "The boils. All of them. There's one across from my dorm who always has something lewd to say to me and managed to get my number. He sends texts to me when I'm trying to sleep in the middle of the night, saying how he's lonely. I'd change it, but my phone is a ******** business line." Her tone turned from normal to that of a growl, though she tried her best to keep it low. "Then there's this one who follows a ghoul I know around and always speaks out of turn when I'm trying to talk to her." Shun... That good for nothing shadow. "And this one undead boil who took my books from me..." Even though Moure was only trying to help, she still held it against him. "And another who was spying on me from a tree." That Jack damn Cat... With all his Jack damn metaphors...

For a good few seconds, the feline's face was filled with rage. "I just can't figure out how to get them to leave me alone. I don't want their attention. I just want to be by myself."

Tahki sat and actually calmly listened to Riyo go on about her troubles with out twitching nervously or hiding behind a book. The situation sounded pretty terrible. Specially the boil taking the books. Though, Tahki hadn't heard the full story on that one.

"Oh wow..." Her voice was a little hushed but not shaky at all. "Being left alone ? I usually wall my self up in my room or.. or... " She gestured to her headphones, "I .. I some times just pretend I don't hear some one when they try to talk to me."

The difference being, Tahki really didn't want to be alone at all. But her anxiety attacks when she did happen to socialize usually were a little to much to handle. But Tahki was working on that as best she could.

"Have you tried blocking the boils number ? That sounds exceedingly irritating. I have this one boil who barges in my room all the time and drags me from place to place... But he's like my little brother pretty much and harmless." Tahki really didn't mind Charlie all that much even if he was pushy and a bit on the annoying side some times.
