This is the current DICE SYSTEM I've got going. For most actions, starting out, we'll use the 20 sided dice. The stats on here are NOT for your character, but are simply something I will be using to help see if certain codes work. As we need more codes, I will add more. Introduction

All across the land, lives are improving in numerous ways. No longer do the people of Aleria suffer from starvation, a lack of education, or any setbacks in the world of magic. However, one thing that hasn't improved is the lives and status of those who cannot use magic. Normally, most people don't care, since those are the 'abnormals' and the 'worthless' folk. However, as of late, that's beginning to change. All across the land, miners are finding pre-existing tunnels that lead to buildings and artifacts of old that were once long lost to time. Those who find them become richer than their wildest dreams, or they are granted a life of luxury - one where they need not rely on magic to get by. This greatly displeases the Grand Magisters, as this takes power away from the government - and gives it to the people! To make things worse, most of these objects are not discovered by normal magic users, but by 'disgusting plebians' who 'taint the Earth with their presence alone'! Because of this, a Grand Expedition has begun, both by the normal folk who rebell against their magical oppressors and those mages who wish to remain in charge of Aleria. Who will find the lost relics first, and what will they do with them?

Rules

Manners
Treat each of your fellow roleplayers with their due respect. If you have any problems with anyone else, settle it outside the bounds of this roleplay or face my wrath(and banhammer). Godmodding and Cybering are both highly rude, especially since we all want to play fair and there are likely minors present. Godmodding is posting with unjustified power in combat situations, controlling another person's characters without their or my consent, or killing/dismembering another person's character without their and my consent. I should hope that the dice and stat system will keep that under control, but nevertheless... You all know what cybering is. If things get sexual between two characters, timeskip or take it to the PM's.

Profiles
You will be allowed to choose your stats, however, you must start as a level one - I will work on a code for experience points and level ups soon enough - and you will only have thirty points to distribute for all of your stats. You may not use any more or any less. The stats shown in the first post are not anyone's stats, but simply an example to go by for calculating codes and such. As for appearances, please use description only. Don't just give something vague, either.

Roleplaying Itself
This is a fantasy-esque universe in a pseudo-medieval realm. Please stick to the genre; no aliens from outer space, no annoying rapping robots, and please only play HUMANOID CHARACTERS for the moment being. Unless they are DISPOSABLE MONSTERS, HULKING BEASTS ARE STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.

Player Characters

Username: Animeprincess_9400
Health: 90
Mana: 81
Name: Elaaya Mortus
Gender: Female
Magi: Yes
Brawn: 3
Agility: 3
Charm: 9
Intelligence: 10
Wisedom: 5
Appearance: Elaaya is of a moderate height of 4'5" with a slender, dainty build. She has pale, milky skin with freckles lightly deccorating her cheeks and nose. Her eyes are shaped like almonds, with her irises being a very light green. Her nose is small but pointy. Her hair is a firey red, extending only a few inches in length beneath her shoulders. Often times, she wears her hair in a loose ponytail, to keep it from getting in the way during work or spellcasting.
Bio: Elaaya is the daughter of a lesser aristocrat, and is one with a smart mouth and lazy demeanor. She has yet to prove herself worthy of the magic she holds, and has frequently shamed her family because of her blunt behavior. At one point, she openly humiliated one of the Grand Magisters, crossing the last straw with this outright disrespect. Because of much bribery and pleading from her parents, they decided to 'go easy' on her, forcing her to enlist for one of the expeditions into DulMarat or face permanent exile. Unable to imagine a life permanently cut off from her money, you can see which she chose. Now, she's starting to regret the decision, especially with all the walking she's had to do thus far. Hopefully, she'll stop being such a load within time.
Other: Spoiled to the core, Elaaya doesn't know when to accept 'no' for an answer and has very little patience. More often than not, this gets her in far more trouble than she's worth.

Username: Lokatyr
Health: 267
Mana: 40
Name: Geir
Gender: Male
Magi: No.
Brawn: 4
Agility: 10
Charm: 4
Intelligence: 7
Wisdom: 5
Appearance: Geir is of slightly more than average height, thin, and with brown eyes somewhat sunken for his age. His hair is brown and of shoulder length.
Bio: Geir, whose father and thus surname are unknown, is a reserved man of the northern forests. Because of his listlessness and instability he has largely been driven from the cities and prefers a life of solitude. He has stolen by need more often than by choice. More often than not he has been found at old stations and ruined sites, digging through the remains, and selling whatever is of apparent value. He is quiet and even distant, and in some cities he has been labeled “ovaett”, demon or monster.
Other: Geir is largely uneducated, but appears to have a certain proficiency with ancient technologies, a trait which often proves beneficial when dealing with arcane contrivances (particularly locks and doors).
Extra information.

Username: Calcifer GearHammer
Health: 280
Mana: 3
Name: Calcifer GearHammer
Gender: Male
Magi: No
Brawn: 6
Agility: 8
Charm: 3
Intelligence: 8
Wisedom: 5
Appearance: Height: 5'11"
Weight: 150 pounds.
Build: Skinny, just fit enough to be considered muscular.
Skin: Dark tan, nearly bronze.
Hair: White, Chin length, Spiked back[As if something exploded and blew his hair back]
Eyes: Striking Yellow iris, no visible pupils.
Tattoos: Lines, almost circuit like. covering his body. Most notable are his hands, which go down each finger, and face, which start vertically at the bottom of his eyes and continue down his body.
Clothing/Equipment-
Headgear: Large goggles that attach to his mask.
Mask: Covers the lower portion of his face, below the eyes, and has two large venting devices that stick outward on the cheeks.
Torso: Simple steel armor pieces covered with attachments.
Gloves: Leather gloves, that can attach to large mechanical gauntlets that he keeps at his sides.
Cloak: A large, thick cloth with no arms or hood, but a large collar that covers his mask.
Pants: Simple baggy, thick cloth pants.
Shoes: Simple Leather boots.
Bio: Calcifer, or Cal, as some called him, grew up in a magi family, trying to learn of a way to rid their bloodline of a series of curses. Due to a unlucky accident, and a freak mixture of spells, Calcifer was transported to a faraway land, where he was raised by an inventor in a Dwarven community. Once he grew of age, he was sent off to adventure and explore the land. Now, being raised by Dwarves, he never learned good and evil, or right and wrong, so he does as he wants and is just as willing to bash your skull in as befriend you. He seeks to find the reason we have ancient technology far superior than our current technology. If these ruins and technology werent built by Dwarves, then who could have made it?

Other: Calcifer suffers from a curse, causing him to exhale a black smoke, which cripples him at times, causing him to have coughing fits. He wears a mask like device that stops him from inhaling his own smoke. This vapor, though black, is like mist to others, giving no taste, and having more of a moist feel, making it safe to breath. The only benifit, is that he can smell and taste at inhuman levels. Such as, being able to detect magic [exe. Fire magic causes him to smell brimstone, or his smoke will turn red] or even detect someones location by smell.

Also, he has a homunculi familiar, named Vigoris, who is a Lightning Elemental.

{I apologize for my shitty entrance. Hopefully I'll do better within time.}

As per usual, many of those not blessed with the gift of magic were already hard at work with whatever craft they did hold, many sweating profusely even despite the cool temperature and the pink sunrise that had yet to touch their skin. For those freelancers and bawdier nobles, the Squatting Harlot, a particularly seedy tavern, was open for business. Many adventuring or political groups would come and adveretise their causes in places such as this, in hopes of hiring a much needed bodyguard or a talented yet still expendable pawn to achieve their goals. Sitting at a table exclusively reserved for recruiters for the Mage-Funded Expedition into DulMarat, Elaaya leaned back in her chair, playing absently with her copper colored hair as she quietly pined away for the chance to sleep in until noon - or possibly later, if she was feeling particularly lazy that day. She couldn't fathom why the higher ups insisted upon her being up this early. If they were that desperate for attention to the cause, couldn't they just as easilly hire a peasant to do it for them? It wasn't like they actually trusted the slothy b***h to begin with...

In the street outside Geir walked with the other day laborers, keeping his eyes down and turning the wet earth beneath his feet. It had rained all the way to the city. At the corner of the street he made out the tavern's sign, colored with the crude image. He smiled softly to himself and slipped into the tavern, sitting and listening to the ones inside. It was still dark, and the lamplights threw light into the street.

Inside he ordered a light drink and drank quietly by himself. Nothing was familiar. But something about the woman's voice was familiar, something she was saying. He tried to listen without making it evident.

After listening a long time he came to the table and looked at her.

"I've just come in from the country," he said. "I'd like to hear more about this work."

"Have you heard about those strange old baubles people are finding out in that backwater place? You know, that one village near those old dwarven mountains? There's some underground tunnel system called DulMarat that the magisters apparently think is worth digging through." Elaaya continued, yawning rather loudly afterwards. Even in doing her job she was quite a slacker. After all, weren't recruiters supposed to be like what we know as a used car salesman? Instead of trying to draw intrigue to such a quest, she put it in the simplest terms she could, sounding utterly bored while she was at it. "If you can fight, use magic, cook in sparse conditions, or take plenty of abuse...you're more than qualified for this gig. So, you interested or no...?"

"I might have heard of them," Geir said. He tried to keep his voice steady. "I've heard things. I do have an interest in the older..." His face was probably paler than usual, and he looked around the room. People were listening. "I'm sorry. I can cook. I have certain other skills. But I won't be much use in a fight. So if it's all the same to you I'll have to wait and see how this thing is arranged."

He left the tavern wondering how much he had said, and leaned against its wall, outside, inhaling the smoke of the world. The pain was beginning again, the discomfort he couldn't identify in his stomach. He didn't want to think of that word and he kept remembering it.

Elaaya was about to continue on up until the man got up and left. She looked rather puzzled, wondering exactly why he seemed to grow so pale. Did she scare off yet another potential recruit? It was quite possible, she realized, and let out a rather heavy sigh. At this rate, she would end up being banished after all...

In a neighboring bar, shouts could be heard inside. One man and two of what appeared to be his comrads stepped outside, a large man blocking their way back in. The leader of the gang had a blue bandana on him and looked rougher than his buddies. "You rock humping freak! Go back to yer midget clan!" The man laughs and begins walking away, his friends making sure whoever they were fighting with didn't come through the door.
BANG!
Not too far away from the door, the wall blew outward, fire licking at the ground as the explosion and smoke blow out and upward to the heavens, before fading from view. The rubble now laying on top of the gang leader, who was knocked out.
A young man stepped out, pulling his goggles up into his shocking white hair, his gold eyes burning like lava. "Whit did ye caa me? Gie yer erse back haur an' say it tae mah face, it'll be th' lest filth tae ever escape yer sewer!"

Geir looked through the smoke and began to back away. He ran his hands along the walls of the Squatting Harlot, trying to decide how trustworthy they were. Then he wondered what kind of city he had gotten into, and why the deranged youth had been talking like the naugrim.

From a very safe distance he watched them carefully, with the smoke still drifting. It might be best to leave this place after all. The creatures of the plains were unpleasant but they generally never threw each other through walls.

There seemed to be an unusual bit of commotion outside, judging by the strange sounds Elaaya kept hearing. Yelling, demolition, freaky accents... it was like the Mages' College Communion all over again! Even so, she was curious as to what was going on, enough so to leave her post as a recruiter to go investigate.

Once she slid out of the entrance of this filthy establishment, she looked about, searching for the cause of said commotion. Upon seeing the damaged building, the man trapped beneath the rubble, and the strange silver haired man with the unusual accent, it was no wonder that she looked rather surprised. Still, at least she wasn't acting like a blind twit and demanding an explanation for what just occured.

Calcifer let out a sigh once he saw that his foe had been knocked out so easily. The sigh created a large stream of smoke from his mask. Actually, all of the remaining smoke came from his mask. He turned to the remaining thugs who quickly ran, knocking eachother over to get away.

He then turned his attention to the girl who seemed out of place for this part of town. He stepped away from the half destroyed building, which no one payed attention to. After all, they got no profit for this squabble, so why waste their time watching? He then approached the woman and squinted his eyes, which were so bright yellow, looked as if were glowing. And the color of his smoke changed, looking... shinier, like glitter. "Whit ur ye daein' in thes slum Mage? Someain as royal as yerself shood be somewhaur sittin' oan yer erse, makin' folk dae mindless jobs as ye worry yerse abit yer crows feet." Of course, this fair skinned magi had no crows feet. But Calcifer just didn't like magic users. For all he knew, she was over one hundred and just using magic to trick young men. And speaking of which, he turned to the man[Geir] who seemed to be watching him. "Can Ah help ye? Yer starin' at me loch Ah owe ye some gauld. Dae Ah? ay coorse nae, Ah ne'er owe naethin' tae nae body. Ye got some kin' ay problem wi' me 'en? coz we can change 'at real quick if ye want. " He opened his cloak and pulled out a very large hammer, the end of which took the shape of a Gear. The man wore large gauntlets, and with the details on those, his mask, and his weapon, it was apparent that he came from the Dwarven Mountains, but why he had these items could only be guessed.

[Oh Cal, why did you have to be raised by the jerk-ish dwarves? Also, his accent will decrease next time. Typing it is as much of a chore as reading probably is. I just wanted to get a voice in your mind. ]

Geir looked down the street and shook his head. He hadn't wanted to be drawn into this. He gave a last look at the way out of the city. Then he walked toward the stranger.

"I just prefer to do things a little more quietly, friend," he said. "And I don't think you should be addressing people in that way. I don't care what you think of mages. She's done nothing to me, or you. Maybe you should let that brain of yours clear up before you go shouting in the street. If it's your own brain," he added with a strange bitterness.

He stood with his hand at his coat, as calmly as he could. His hand and legs shook. He never should have come into this city. But although he had not trusted the woman himself she had stood quietly by, not harming anyone. He simply didn't believe in marauders.
