A large open field with a few trees for practicing. There is a shed full of equipment to the left and right beside it an indoor dojo. This is where squad 1s lieutenant is often at.

Kyanah walked into the grounds slowly. She hummed a tune as she anticipated her opponents arrival. She neared the center of the field and stood looking at the entrance. A faint smile played at her lips as she tried not to show her excitement. A battle would be good for her, she had sat in her office doing paperwork for far too long. having a lieutenant who disliked fighting didn't help her at all. She could get him to do battle every once in a while but only after making certain promises. She hummed the tune to Angels as she waited.

Kano appeared at the training grounds, seeing the Head Captain in the distance as she neared the center of the field. He decided it was best to keep a little bit of distance from where the battle was going to take place,"Are you sure it's a good idea to be fighting someone who is in a squad that doesn't ever go to the front lines of combat?" Kano didn't really care, but he knew that the research the squad conducted did in fact help.

Kyanah nodded at Kano a smile still on her face, "I don't plan on killing him, just a friendly spar to get the blood pumping. Who knows, maybe he will learn some things about himself and his blade. We'll have to see what happens." She was confident that her opponent would be a bit of a challenge as he was a lieutenant and most likely had done some modifications and had hidden weapons and techniques and such up his sleeve. She knew Myuki and had no doubt she had taught him a thing or two about battle.She doubted though that he was pose much of a threat and would be fairly easy for her to dominate. She stayed relaxed and waiting in the center of the field.

Ginkou calmly walked in nodding his head to his music. As he reached near Kyanah, he brought out is Zanpaktou using kido. The long almost rusty blade was nearly 3/4 his height. It also looked dull in appearance until he swung cutting down a far off tree with only one hand on the blade. Ginkou raised a smirk " It's also been awhile even for me " He said as he pulled down his headphones blaring loud music. He look at Kano " Like i said before just because I'm in squad 12 does not make me frail in combat, I excel in tactical combat, making me a worthy opponent "

Kyanah smiled gently at her opponent, "We'll have to see how you compare to me." She changed her body's position in preparation. The small woman stood in a simple stance one foot slightly behind the other her sword drawn and held firmly before her. Her expression became more serious as her eyes turned from a smile almost to a frown, her lips following suit. The air began to shiver around her, send small waves out making the air move like small ocean waves. She took a deep breath and focused on Ginkou, the waves began to move more in his direction. The spiritual pressure was gentle but still forceful, like a mother's hand urging her child forward. "Let us begin, show me what Squad 12 can do in battle!" her voice was calm but loud and carried the power of her spirit.

Ginkou pulled his blade back and put his empty hand forward and took a deep breath. A spiral of flames headed for Kyanah " Haien " He knew deep down she would quickly dodge it and he was ready for it. Even as the flames still continued from his hand he began to spin hopefully hitting her even if she dodged or not.

It wasn't long before Natsuki and Yasumeh both arrived in the training grounds of the first Division, a battle was already under way between the first captain and the 12th division lieutenant. He had used a simple move to start things off after the first captain reigned down her supremacy by showcasing her spiritual pressure. "Looks like things are heating up already captain" Natsuki stated offhandedly glancing over to Yasumeh for a moment before finding a location at the side lines to observe the pieces of the soul society at work.

Yasumeh walked in shortly behind Natsuki, taking a seat cross legged a good distance from the two so as not to get in the way should the fight traverse an area larger than most training matches given their ranking. He did not reach for his normal comfort within one of the small gourds that hung from his clothing, instead his eyes stared intently at the scene before him, recording down every minor movement and reaction... even the most trivial of motions where recorded deep within the recesses of his mind. Each was added to a log book, a small notepad written in cryptic tongue for which there was no key beyond that in Yasumeh's head.

Kyanah smiled as Ginkou shot the hadou at her. She placed a hand before her and, "Bakudo number 8, Seki," she muttered softly and a small shield appeared before her, blocking the fire. As the man began to spin, she moved toward him. She dodged the flames by simply keeping in step with his circle as she neared him. As she got close the flames licked at the edge of her robes. Smelling the faint fragrance of smoke, she flash stepped behind the man and whispered in his ear, "Did you really think such a simple move could really touch me," she taunted, hoping to make the fire of the battle even greater. Her sword's tip poking into his back lightly so that the tip didn't even tear into his clothes.

Ginkou raised his head " Oh I knew, I wanted you close. But let me ask you this, do you know what created us and what is around us in the Soul Society?" He smiled as he waited for her answer. Although Kyanah's spiritual pressure should have had him at his knees or at least in fear of her, but he took it as if it was only a simple menos that could barely keep up. " Also how many captains would it take if let's say a Vasto Lorde attacked?" These to many were odd questions.

Kyanah was almost puzzled as to why he would ask such questions but didn't let it show. She continued to smile and pocked the point of her blade deeper into his back, now the tip would be tearing a slight hole in his clothes. She continued to smile as she spoke sweetly, "Oh, why should I answer what made us when I know you will do it so much more eloquently." she then dug the blade tip deeper in, "and why would you ask about Vasto Lorde unless you plan of bringing one here, in which case you would be considered a traitor and killed very quickly and painfully." her voice was now sweet with poison, tempting him to do such a thing, it would only make her day even better.

Ginkou chuckled " We are made of something called reishi, you, me, those trees over there and even your zanpaktou are all made of it" He smiled even wider" It's also like a double edged sword, you use reishi for many things, like kido and your own build up of power. In the human world there are people called quincies that are able to absorb reishi and use it" The spot where Kyanah was stabbing him began to turn into a mist " I've done thing to my body so that I to can absorb reishi, so please continue to stab me as I drain you of your energy" He began to step backwards to have her blade go deeper into his body. " And about the Vasto Lorde thing don't worry about that "

Kano yawned and walked over to the Captain and Lieutenant that were also sitting on the side lines. He sat down beside them, crossing his legs over each other, and rested his head on his arm as his elbow dug into his thigh. His other hand rested on the ground beside him. As watched the exchange of blows and the use of kido, Kano shook his head without removing it from his palm,"I hate to admit it, but they are both pretty good at fighting. I guess it's to be expected from the Head Captain, but the other one is good too.... For someone who stay's in a lab most of the time." Even though Kano was a Lieutenant, he always seemed to talk as if he were a Captain. Recently, not many people had said anything about, but even if they did, the only two people he was actually going to listen to was the Head Captain and his Captain.

Kyanah's eyes widened momentarily as she felt the pull of her reishi as it left her. She knew she had to get away, and stay away, to win such a battle. Her reighi, though immense, was precious. She slashed her rapier sideways, hoping to do some damage, and jumped away quickly. A smile crossed her face almost amused by Ginkou, "Clever Squad 12, why oh why would I not expect such a thing from them." she laughed slightly, placing her hand on her forehead. "It seems then, I will have to come up with some other kind of strategy now won't I." her voice was still taunting but now carried an edge of seriousness. She pulled in as much spiritual pressure as she could in hopes that her opponent wouldn't be able to drain in from the air to power himself up. "I think then, this is my best choice. Shimmer, Yoru no Kitsune." as she said the words the blade began to shimmer as if it contained the stars of the night sky. A short blue ribbon fell from the handle, tickling Kyanah's arm as it did so causing her to smirk.
