Faenix believe in reincarnation, and nowhere is this more apparent than how they choose their rulers. It is believed, that when the King dies his soul leaves his body and enters that of the first newborn child he encounters. The first child born in the capital after the death of the King is crowned and will rule for the entirety of their lives. Princess and Princesses live at court, not as heirs, but as teachers for when the king begins his life over again. And so, the king has reigned since the faenix were created, and will reign until the last of them dies.
The King is dead. Long live the King.

The faenix as a whole are fairly reclusive and introverted. No matter what profession they train in or what their base alignment is they always spend a great deal of time thinking things though before taking action, preferring the course of action with the greatest benefit to their species at large. They make very few choices on impulse or gut feelings. This does not preclude them from making poor or even evil choices.
Female faenix are rare, and though even the most unattractive female may be able to go through life without lifting a finger they rarely choose to do so. They prefer to contribute to the society which supports them and you will be able to find females working along side males in every position from the fields to the royal court. They are courted aggressively by high ranking or powerful faenix males but most often take mates for love. These love matches are strong, and female nix nearly always mate for life. It is highly uncommon for a female to take a non-faenix as a mate, and unheard of for her to take another female.
Having a female in your immediate family is said to bring incredible luck, and having a Queen at the head of state is said to herald a golden age among faenix.
Males make up the bulk of the population and thus, the bulk of the work force. With females so scarce, many males seek mates outside their own species.
Females usually not be obtained: Through flatsales (racial or otherwise), freebies, gifts, or BAFs. I'm asking for colourist cooperation on this. If you would like to give one out through one of these channels please ask me first.
Through racial customs. This thread will almost exclusively give out males. If a female is requested through racial customs and I have not opened a slot for a female your form will be ignored.
Females will never be obtained: Through male / male, female / female, or faenix / non-faenix breedings.
Females may be obtained: In regular colourist custom slots.
In hetro breedings where the father and mother are both faenix.
There is no limit on how many females one person can own, or how fast they can be obtained. If you have more than three I ask you to allow others to enter for females when they appear in racial customs or events. This is a request, not a rule.
