Interpreting Character PMs
Note: Characters may be RPed in non-meta RPs immediately upon your receiving them UNLESS you receive a “RP on Hold” within the PM containing your character. These will only be given to characters that are introduced later in the plot.
If part of the RP is in green, this information should not be shared with anyone else, either ICly or OOCly; this is just to make the RP more fun.
If your character is a “mostly blank slate” they will not come with predetermined histories or a basic personality. These will be up to you. You will have instead received ‘keywords’ which are a strong guideline for your lion. For example, if you have been given the keyword ‘superstitious’ with your lion, they must have an aspect of them that is superstitious. This does not (and SHOULD NOT) define your entire character, but it is one aspect of their personality. This should not be outrageous, or make your character ‘special’, it is simply a way to put some interesting belief systems in the mix of the pride, while still allowing you freedom. If a word given is in red, then this particular belief or trait is on the extreme side of things, and the character cannot be swayed away from this area of thinking.
Traditional: This character has a very traditional mind. Females should only breed with Abholi, never rogues, and males never hunt and should be kicked out of the pride upon adolescence. Read the Cultural Hot-Topics if you have not for a better idea. New-Age: This lion is a supporter of allowing some rogue interaction. They would support Rogue-swap and would be less likely to scorn any female who had a fling. (In addition, they may be more likely to have a fling) Color-Biased: This lion has a bias towards color, and believes dark coated females to be more ‘valuable’. Superstitious: This lion has some aspect of superstition, ex: hitting a cub brings bad fortune.
Some characters may have family trees included to show you major relationships to other lions within the pride. If they do not have one, they are assumed to be unrelated to any currently ICly played members.

Interpreting Meta PMsThese should remain self-explanatory within the PMs themselves, and they may vary moderately.
You will receive a character name (as well as their player), a plot device (or a region description), and you may also receive an IC-publicity type to include in your first post.
You and your partner will then be in charge of beginning and ending the RP in a timely fashion. If the RP is done outside the pridal forums, a link must be PMed the mule.
You are free to create as much plot and interaction within the RPs as you see fit – these are as much your plot devices as they are a part of the meta. Interesting interactions between characters and conflict created will push the metaplot in one direction or another.
All active meta RPs can be found in this thread

Setting Up RoleplaysThe title of the RP should contain 3 things
RP Type in Brackets Title Characters Involved in Parenthesis
RP Types MPRP: Meta, private-RP MSPRP: Meta, semi-private: entrance on request MORP: Meta, open-RP MSRP: Meta, self-RP
Any RPs that are not officially part of the meta (that is, they have not been organized officially or through the mule), can be set up as regular Roleplay and do not need the “M” to designate meta before the roleplay-type abbreviations. Any number of these can be made.
The First Post Should Contain
IC Publicity of Event Basic Location and Weather The Start of the RP
IC Publicity
Public: Any characters would be able to overhear and/or use the information in this RP as common knowledge. Semi-Public: Permission to assume IC knowledge of events in this RP must be requested from the makers of the RP. Invitation Only: Only the characters listed will have IC knowledge of the events within this RP. Private: Only those characters present in the RP have IC knowledge of the RP.
These should be posted in bold at the top of the post, in size 10 font. For Invitation Only, names should be listed below the indication of IC Publicity, but should not be bolded.
Weather and Location
These should also be written in size 10 font. Descriptions should be brief. If no description of weather or location is given by the mule for the meta RP, it is up to the discretion of the individual who starts the post.
Something simple, as follows, is appropriate: Weather: Partly cloudy, humid. Location: A meeting rock outside the current pridal boundaries. A river lies to the west.
