They’d parted ways just after their plotting in the woods; Levi and Holly did. The white haired ghoul’s pigtails flopped with her bouncy movements, pondering the steps she’d take next towards the tree house building, as she made her way back to her campus home in the monster dorms. Nearing the building, her familiar appearance and evident grin must’ve triggered a certain round-eyed treat.

The mini pounced off of Levi’s dorm window ledge and onto her furry white tatzel ears in its obvious excitement. Feeling the arrival of a new weight, Levi put a hand to her head, chuckling at the smell of candy corn that followed with tiny licks given to her by Sweets, her adoring candy corn treat.

The fluffy treat flattened itself between her ears on its stomach with limbs sprawling and face rubbing against the warmth of her hair. As usual, the adorable treat likely enjoyed the free ride of perching on her master’s head and Levi herself was pleased to have such a greeting from her personal mobile plush doll. Sweets had been a gift to Levi from her tatzel town kin as a reminder of her home and the ones who celebrated her acceptance into Amityville. While going through her plans with Holly, Levi had considered having Sweets do a few checks on the treehouse for her but… she really didn’t see the treat being able to stay in the woods alone for very long. Give it a few minutes to half an hour and the treat would flutter its way back in a panic. It was like when Levi left for her classes early in the day; Sweets could often times be found hiding under the pillows of her bed where her head once was. The tatzel had gotten used to picking Sweets out of her covers before sleeping in order to avoid twisting and turning all over the poor thing. The ghoul regularly woke up to some very irregular sheets sprawled along the foot of her bed and floor; she was a mover.

Neither Levi nor Sweets had clued in yet that they were being watched…

What’cha’all doin’ comin’ out ‘ere landin’ on a critters head, aye? Sweets, ya screecheart. Why, a ghoul could just coddle ya with that lil’ face a- Realizing she’d begun talking to the treat rather affectionately while still fully viewable in public, the tatzel stopped mid-sentence. Hey- she had a rep to protect. Taking a moment to peer around to make sure no one had been there to see her ghoulish display of adoration, a slight rustling against the grass behind her had the tatzel’s gold eyes narrowing with suspicion. What kind of critter had overheard her? Because if it was some smart mouthed boil getting ready to mock her… She lifted the end of her tail to a ready-for-smacking point. She’d have to get ready to turn quickly if she was going to get the drop on them from the sound of it; the figure was just a few feet away.

Ready! When Levi turned to greet her creeping spy, she saw nothing mobile within view… save for one cat.

It was a cat.

Yep. Looking downward a bit baffled, the ghoul crouched to get closer to the minis level with Sweets shifting slightly to account for the movement. Resting her elbows on her knees, she squatted to look this sneaky mini over… why had it followed her? Was it some sort of spy for someone else looking to infiltrate their treehouse plans? By the looks of it, the creature was feral. It must have been in the shrubbery of the woods for quite some time given it had patches of fur mixed in with scrapes and matted down hair by unknown goopy substances. No sign of grooming by anyone else was seen. There was the peculiar matter of its feet as well- or rather, the lack of. Levi could relate to not having actual feet, of course, but this critter had multiple tendrils coiling and curling as it moved. Levi counted them off with a finger, trying to keep it within her personal space as to not alarm the creature just yet. Eight- it had eight limbs and what appeared to be an actual tail swaying behind it.

Offering it her hand to sniff then on a whim, the cat flinched to the movement at first but slowly edged its way tentacle by tentacle over, pointing with its nose in curiosity at the hand. It sniffed with a tiny twitching nose and then looked up at her again, coiling its tentacles underneath itself like it was in a sit/laying down position.

It was waiting for something. hmm? What’re ya looking fer, critter? It mewed. Did’ja want somethin’ from me?... It mewed.

Well, this was going well…

Rolling through various ways to coax the tentacles cat over to her in her mind, the tatzel went for what usually worked on her own minis. Reaching into her shirt, she pulled out a tiny pouch with the scent of candy corn. As always, she almost never left home (or in this case her dorm home) without the tiny kernels of her family’s produce held close to her bosom. Opening the pouch, the scent caught the wandering tentacle cat’s nose and indeed pulled it in closer. Levi picked out a single kernel and placed her hand close to the ground. This somethin’ you’d like? Wanna give it a try? Hmm? C’mon… …c’mon now. Won’t hurt ya none.

She really didn’t know why the critter had chosen to patter along after her but it appeared to be friendly enough, taking short nibbles of the candy corn between looking up at her. Perhaps the creature was something like her own Sweets? Levi tilted her head slightly upward to get a reaction from her cuddly treat companion. This ‘a pal’a yours? The treat churred but kept to its position. Maybe? … who knows what these minis did in their spare time while all the folks weren’t looking. Maybe ya’ll wanna come back ta tha dorm with us? … got some more where this came from~ Taking out another kernel, the ghoul placed the coned candy piece on the ground before standing ever so slowly. Quickly taking out another, she wavered it out visibly to the tentacled cat just above its head so it would catch on to what it was and not bolt away.

Levi got a bit of a shock just then- perhaps this cat wasn’t as shy as she’d been presuming. Frilling its tentacles, the cat slid towards her feet and then latched on to one of her legs with a mew.

Precious!

At’sa ……..critter. C’mon then. Don’t go fallin’ off on me. At this display of trust, Levi lowered to give the kernel to the cat as a reward. Good critter. If this cat wasn’t owned by anyone… and it knew the woods well enough, it might actually be of use to her in regards to the treehouse plan. Wheels were turning once again as the tatzel entered the monster dorm doors. Hopefully, she and her minis could persuade this new friendly feline feral to stay within their dorm home. It could take some time but- it was worth a shot, Levi figured.

A companion for her woodsie adventures.
