Ever since that night, West had been avoiding her. That he hadn't been doing so on purpose at first wasn't much of an excuse, considering he had realized it since and continued to deliberately stay away from her, but it was the only excuse he had so he clung to it.
The demon scratched at his forearm, glaring up at the ghost dorms as if willing them to burst into flames. Ghosts weren't scared of fire, right? No, that was the undead kids. Good. If a fire mysteriously broke out, he couldn't very well go in there. He would just go back to his room and... eat something? No. This had to be done now or it would never be done at all.
West didn't waste any more time. He clenched his jaw, sighed, then strode into the building, making his way straight to Holly's room. He was fairly certain he had clocked a couple of kids with his shoulder along the way, but it was less than satisfying since he hadn't actually felt them get knocked around.
As soon as he reached the door, West rapped his knuckles hard against it. "Holly?" he said, quite a bit louder than he had intended. He was determined to make this quick. A little 'I'm sorry I left you alone at prom and I'm especially sorry I kissed you so let's just forget all about it,' then he'd be on his way. The fact that he now knew she hung out with Levi willingly, well, that was bound to make this whole ordeal a lot easier. Allegedly.

In all honest, after thinking about it, Holly had been avoiding him just as much. Not like she ever really went out of her way to see him or anything, just made sure she never crossed the same path. She could just ignore him in public anyway but seeing him alone any time. No way. Just thinking about that was weird and ugh.
But it seemed that both of them were stubborn. That was really it. Since that night at the prom the ghoul wasn't sure what to think. It had been a fine night until he did that and left her. Left. Seriously, jerk. Holly wasn't the most proper of ghouls by a long shot but he could have said bye or offered to walk back with her. Not like anything was going to happen, right? Why were boils jerks...
Anyway. West was the one who just left her. She didn't do a thing wrong and he left without a word and nothing else.
Then there was a knock on her door. Who? Wait. Oh. Great. Of all times, he had to show up to her room, not like the middle of the school or anything. What was he going to do? Make fun of her? Apologize? Neither seemed very fun. She opened her door a few inches. Yep, defiantly West. "What do ya want?" That sounded more irritated then she had meant it, oh well. She opened the door all the way. "Er, come in." Alright, she wasn't going to make him stand in the door way. Mostly she didn't want to attract random attention from other students. "Make yourself at home." She gestured to the sparse room. It was then she realized she still had the piece of holly he'd given her, which was sitting on her desk at the moment.

He bristled at her irritated greeting, but any reply he might have been preparing to fling back was interrupted when she herded him inside. In theory, he didn't want anyone knowing their business either, but when presented with such a tempting invitation to fight, even only verbally, West couldn't just ignore it. The fact that he still considered her a friend, even after how he'd been treating her, didn't seem to enter into it. That was just How Things Were.
"I came to tell y..." His gaze found the holly on her desk and he froze, the rest of his sentence forgotten. "Why d'ya still have that?" he muttered.

She wasn't sure if letting him in was the best idea. Though whatever conversation was to be had, well ... she didn't want random ghosts walking (or floating) by. At this moment she didn't know but she was ready for civil talking or a fight. Either would work for her in the end. Holly just wanted to know what the deal was with him avoiding her and it seemed like she'd possibly get that answer.
Or not this moment, since he did realized what was left out on the desk. The ghoul almost panicked. Jack, why did she leave that out. From the sounds of it he was about to say whatever it was that needed to be said. But no, he had to see that and now she'd have to explain herself. Who knows what would happen after that.
She sighed to herself. What was she going to say? She just wanted to keep it. She was using it as a bookmark, no that was too disrespectful. It looked expensive and a waste to throw out, no that sounded like an excuse. "I, uh, why does that matter?" Holly crossed her arms. "I just didn't want to for some reason, okay?" There, fine, the truth, more or less.

His brow furrowed and he opened his mouth slightly, fully prepared to reply with some juvenile remark about the parents she didn't have or how much Christmas Town sucked. He even halfheartedly jutted a finger toward her and inhaled a sharp breath to speak. It was all for nothing. Shortly after, the breath came out in a sigh and his arms crossed over his chest, mirroring hers.
"Sorry," he muttered. "Y'can do whatever y'like with it. It's yours now." He lowered his arms. "I, um... I came to 'pologize."
He gestured toward the spiky plant. "For then. Prom. I didn't mean to..." He pressed his lips together in a frown.
"We were havin' fun, I thought. As friends. An' then I screwed it up."

Holly was slightly amused at the fact her pointed a finger at her and didn't even say anything after that. She had been expecting some sort of remark from him because that is what he normally did. Though something seemed different about him today. Did he have more facial hair than before?
The ghoul rose a brow. So he was apologizing then. She wasn't actually sure of what he was apologizing for. For her she'd spent most of that night confused. She was only truly upset about the fact he just blew her off after the night and hadn't seen her until that day. Holly nodded in agreement though. There were just having fun, there wasn't anything else right? "It's alright. In the past now right?" Right?
"Isn't like I wasn't possibly avoiding you either." So maybe she did feel like pointing that out.
She uncrossed her arms. "Soo, how's your break been since then?" Not like she would know.

Surely there was more to it than that? West had never really apologized to anyone quite like this before, but he had definitely been expecting something more explosive. He swallowed.
"Right. In the past." Really he should have learned his lesson after Scarentine's, but then there had been curiosity and stomach flutters and... peh. At least one positive thing had come out of his visit home. It seemed it had smacked all of those ghouly feelings right out of him.
Speaking of breaks...
"Uh..." His brief chuckle was anything but cheerful. "Break sucked. But... whatever. It's done." He didn't elaborate further. "What've you been up to? How's Levi?" He had intended the question to be sort of friendly and sincere, but his lip curled as he spoke the tatzel's name and his tone was anything but kind.

In all honesty, she could have gone either way with her apology. Well the nice way she accepted or tried to bite his head off. She was mad, still kind of mad actually but if she got all mad again it could have been a while again before he tried to apologize. Holly just wanted everything fine again for now, even if she was still a bit angry. Maybe she'd yell at him later, find a reason for that. That's make her feel better.
She'd just try to not think of any of these past ... awkwardness for now, just friends. That would be good. From the sounds of it, his break wasn't the most amazing. Probably better than hers, she chuckled. "Better than my break I bet." Yeah it was done. "I've been doing ... stuff. Nothing really, ghoul stuff you know." Or really he wouldn't. Levi? "She's cool, I think you'd actually get along." Holly grinned, or along well enough. She was going to ask about how they last meetings were, the other ghoul may have mentioned things, more than West would admit. "Do have some homework to catch up on now though..." Not that she had to do it but the conversation was leading back to odd places and they were still in her room. Yeah, work sounded funner almost.

Ghoul stuff. Yeah, he didn't want to know any more about that. West also didn't want to hear any sort of suggestion that he and Levi might get along. He had plans to destroy the tatzel, not have tea with her.
His eyes darted around Holly's nearly empty room. He wasn't so completely self-absorbed that he failed to notice that she not-so-subtly wanted him gone. Plus, he could kind of feel her anger. It wasn't nearly as satisfying as other people's.
"I'll, um, let y'get to it then," he muttered. Awkward. "See ya. In class." West began to back out of the room. He wasn't sure why he was doing so, but he didn't stop until he was within a few inches of the door. He nodded one last time, turned, and left.

Holly just chuckled. By ghoul stuff she meant trickery and what not. But West didn't need to know that since he'd was probably the object of some of it. Most likely. Probably. Defiantly.
Gladly he got the hint. She partly wanted to do work and partly wanted him gone for the moment. Holly followed him to the door and waved, slightly. "Yeah, see ya in class."
