Natural Ability: Evelina has a broomstick given to her from her grandmother which she uses to fly. To fly with it, she has to channel some of her Fear into the broom. It's a twisted old oak stick with some hay on top, really nothing special. Evelina recently carved some stars into it to spruce it up a bit but now she thinks it looks a little tacky. It is also a family broom, which explains why it reeks of old barn.

Personality:
Evelina generally keeps to herself, and is not easily offended. Being the youngest in a large family, she's learned to ignore people's words pretty well. Being the youngest also means she's used to listening to instructions, and not giving out any. She's definitely a follower, not a leader. Just because she's a follower doesn't mean she's dumb though. Evelina is the opposite; she's smart. Especially in science- she is very good with plants.
Evelina loves riding on her broomstick, and usually flies everyday since it's her transportation. Her favourite part about flying with her broom is feeling the wind in her hair, though Bellatrix (her pet) can't stand the wind. Evelina purposely brings her along because of that. She also enjoys reading about scary monsters with Bellatrix so she'll fly to the library weekly to grab horror books.
Whenever there's something good to put in it, Evelina writes in her journal. She loves the quiet and privacy she gets from her journal that she can't get anywhere else. This is because she is a bit of a hermit. She doesn't like crowds since they make her fidgety and restless. She can deal with it, but she tries to avoid them if she can.
Being around all her siblings both annoys Evelina and makes her antsy, so she'll escape them and go to her Grandmother's house whenever she can. Her Grandmother has always favoured Evelina from her siblings. She's always saying "You remind me of myself when I was your age!". Evelina and her Grandmother tend to just read books in front of the fireplace together and chat about witchy things. Her Grandmother has taught her a lot about her magical heritage. For instance, her family has apparently always had wind-related Fear.

Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy?
Evelina has always been seen as the runt, the useless one. She wants to prove otherwise and show that she isn't useless, and that she can be scary.
She is excited about learning about plants and herbs because Evelina enjoys reading about them. However the one class she can't wait for is Curses, Hexes, and Spells because she thinks it's the perfect class to teach her about how to scare others.
At her Grandmother's request, she intends on learning a lot about her magical heritage too.

FEAR:
All Reapers channel their fear through some sort of weapon; Evelina channels her Fear through her broomstick. She loves using it as her weapon, because it means she can summon and dismiss it as she pleases.
To activate her Fear Evelina twirls her broom to make a gust of wind blow, although she can't control in which direction it blows (it's been known to even blow back at Evelina from time to time). It's not very strong, and can only blow strong enough to knock over smaller things.

Bellatrix:



A witch isn't a very good witch without a pet cat, so Bellatrix fills that role. She's a little black cat with snow white paws and a snow white tail. She's a young cat, and has lots of energy so she keeps Evelina on her feet and not sitting like a lump on a chair. Evelina assumes Bellatrix is mute, because she has never heard the cat talk, meow or even purr. Though she doesn't need to talk much, since her glares are typically enough to get what she wants. She can always be found by Evelina's side, usually pawing at her to do something.

Eye Colour: Dark orange.
Hair Colour/Style: Dark Crimson, straight, shoulder-length with short bangs
Skin Colour: Porcelain
Clothing Style/Colours: Evelina wears the colours red and black, and loves to wear stars. The star is her favourite symbol because it symbolizes hope. She tends to wear them as earrings and splashed on her clothing. She also enjoys wearing short, fluffed out dresses with knee-high boots.

Hey there!

I noticed that your Reaper has both a familiar and a weapon. You're going to have to pick one or the other as Reapers can only have one. If they have a familiar, that acts as their weapon - the thing they channel their FEAR with.

Alright. That should be fine I think? If not you could always make her one of the many feline minipet species and that would make it alright for sure I believe.

Maryellen seems flesh out ok, you'd provided enough info about her that satisfies my curiosity. I would look into a character flaw for her, its those little imperfections that makes a quest character shine. As for Bella, there is an healthy assortment of minipets to choose from as a replacement form for her, or even maybe having a SE mini of her.

Maryellen's Fear sounds right for her, I wonder if they would allow her to use her flying broom in the battle too. Is there a genre of books that the young witch likes to read?. All in all, not bad, I look forward to any revisions made.

Overall, I like her~ I like her weapon being a classic witches' broom (and that wouldn't be strange to her or different, she would have received it at birth and been told it was her weapon). I like her FEAR and how it's windbased, and how that relates to her broom flying.

However. Her natural ability... doesn't seem like a natural ability? At least not the way you've worded it. Perhaps say that she can naturally channel some of her FEAR into the broom to make it fly? As it is now it sounds like her broom just flies because... it does. And just owning something that flies doesn't make it your natural ability!

With her personality: I like what you have laid out, but it seems like most of her personality is inferred rather than directly stated. Like her putting her deepest thoughts into her journal: suggests that she's quiet and values her privacy, but doesn't often get it because of her family situation. It feels like she uses her books as an escape; what is she escaping from? Again, yes, her large family - but why? There's room for some very interesting specifics there, but we're not getting them quite yet! And I have no idea whether my inferences are what you mean to suggest.

Really I would like more information on her family since right now she seems mostly defined by them. How many siblings does she have? What are her relationships with them, is she jealous of any of them specifically? Is her home happy in general, or is there a lot of family strife? Why is her grandmother the only one who cares about her FEAR (and you might want to re-word that to caring about Maryellen herself; the way it is now makes me think her grandmother only cares about her for her power which I don't think is what you mean)? Are her parents too busy tending to the rest of the family to give her any attention?

And how will growing up in that environment affect her when she goes away for school?


Basically I see a lot of potential, and the character I can extrapolate from the information you've given us is really interesting - I just don't know if that character matches who your character really is, to you. I hope this helps?
