AMITYVILLE ACADEMY ENROLLMENT FORM

Name: Freya Brynhildr
Nicknames: N/A
Gender: Female
Age: 19

Faction/Race Reaper / Valkyrie

Natural Ability:

-Lament- Valkyries are said to be able to sing with a voice so sad it stops their opponents in their tracks.

Personality:

-One in of a Million-

Freya is the second oldest of a set of nine valkyrie ghouls - eight of which manage to look nearly identical. Valdis, Freya's mother, enjoyed playing up the aspect of uniformity - and the ghouls were often found sporting identical outfits as they marched behind their mother like little ducklings in a row.

It was only after Hel, the youngest, was born cursed with startling differences in appearance, did the rest of the Brynhildr sisters begin to rebel from the conformity of appearance. The older sisters would wear their hair in odd, foreign styles - though none dare cut the length, as hair was a symbol of fertility and power for the valkyrie woman. Individuality began to blossom brightest in their fashion sense, but even there they were hindered by what their mother allowed them to buy.

-Inferiority Complex-

Still, there were other methods of individuality. Freya's older sister became a surrogate mother of sorts, leading by example and caring for her older sisters where her mother could not. Freya herself had the urge to do the same, but often fell short of being needed - until Hel arrived. Freya latched onto her littlest of sisters like a mothering leech, and has been obsessed with 'caring' for her with her own brand of love and protection ever since.

Due to her relationship with her older sister, Freya always feels the need to try and be the best at something. Until her journey to Amityville, her goal was to be the best at taking care of Hel - to the point of feeding the ghoul little white lies about the eldest sister from time to time, just to keep her close. She would easily employ this method of subtle sabotage to anyone who tries to get in her way once she has dedicated herself to being the best at something.

-Lead by Example Hypocrisy-

Degrading the relationship between her older and youngest sister isn't all she manages to use deceit for. While she never means to hurt anyone, Freya tends to spend a great deal of time making up exhausting stories to convince someone not to do something - and yet, put in the same situation, she would never listen to her own advice, and often finds herself doing the exact thing she had warned others about. She may consider herself an exception to every rule, but she has been caught in her own mistakes several times, and doesn't seem to have learned any better for it.

Therefore, Freya subscribes to the rule of 'Do as I say, not as I do.'

-Visual Aids are Key to Learning-

Part of her obsession with weaving intricate tales to convince people to do, or not do, something - involve visual aids. She will draw out charts. She will scratch graphs into the walls. She will make slides and project presentations at random moments, because it makes an argument look professional - and that means it's true. Therefore, her most important accessory is not her large axe halberd reaper weapon - oh no. It is the laser pointer that hangs from her belt at all times, ready to be used at a moment's notice to point out the connections in the flow chart she just made to prove you wrong.

-Violence is Always the Answer-

In the end, if she can't talk you out of your decision, it's good old fashioned brute force that will keep you from walking out that door. Freya is a valkyrie - a proud, strong member of the norsefolk. There is no small amount of fighting blood running through her veins. She loves a good battle, even if it's a friendly one, and will gladly take anyone up on an offer to spar or just plain wrestle. If you're on her bad side, she'll be more inclined to pinning you down and holding you captive until you give in to her demands, if she can manage it.

-No One Can Stand Up to Thor-

Freya doesn't believe in relationships. Concepts such as true love and romance are all but lost to her. The closest she's ever come to love is a one-sided obsession with a valkyrie named Thor, who flirted with each and every one of the Brynhildr sisters as if they were all a boxed set, which came delivered to his doorstep all together. Consequently, Freya doesn't quite believe in monogamy, and feels comfortable flirting with boils without worrying about the consequences. As much as she hated sharing his affections with her sisters, she's never quite gotten over her obsession - and any boil truly looking to win her affections has some mighty big, thunderous shoes to fill.

Misc Info:

-The Laser Pointer-

If Freya is ever caught without her laser pointer ready to be whipped out at a moment's notice, clearly someone has died. She would sooner forget to put on underwear than equip her laser pointer. It is her most prized possession, though its origins are a mystery.

-Oral Fixation-

Freya is here to chew bubble gum and kick a**, and she's never out of bubble gum.

There are certain things that put Freya at ease. They help her cope with her inferiority complex, and they help keep her strong sense of self-worth at the surface. One of these things is chewing. Her favorite food is beef jerky, because it's so hard to chew. She enjoys ripping pieces off in front of someone as an intimidation tactic. Jerky aside, however, she just feels more comfortable if she's chewing, licking, or sucking something. In general, her mouth has to be working, if it's not talking.

Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? After living in the shadow of the oldest sister in her family, it didn't take long for Freya to follow her baby sister to Amityville. She was only too happy to get away from the family dynamic of being a part of a set, equally as strong and good looking as any one of her sisters but lacking in any individual characteristics that made her stick out from the crowd. A fresh start, followed by bullying taking care of her little sister on her new journey, sounded irresistable to her.

FEAR:

Doppleganger: Freya appears to split into three versions of herself, though the process leaves it unclear which one remains to be the real version. This is a defensive and manipulative tactic only, as only the real Freya can attack. She waits until the attacker is left prone from attacking one of the fake versions, and strikes.

Herryk likes. :T A lot.

Is Freya's relationship with her sister the only reason she has inferiority problems, or is that something that has always been there, bubbling under the surface? Is there anything in particular (or worth mentioning) that her sister has done in the past that has fueled the fire? Since her sister seems to have played a huge part in Freya's personality (mainly her inferiority complex), was there ever a turning point where Freya said " t =_= t" and flipped out?

Silly questions, most likely, but Freya's relationship with her older sister is fascinating to me for some reason.

I love her fixation on visual aids. XD

Freya had absolutely no problem following the fold until Hel was born - she thought that was just how it was supposed to be, and thoroughly enjoyed dressing up just like her sisters and saying things in sync with them, and being shown off like little dolls. Hel's birth changed the ENTIRE dynamic of the family, where not only Freya but most of the sisters began to pull away from their comfort zones. The dissonance left behind from scrambling to find their individuality was what spurned Freya's inferiority complex, as she was oldER, but not oldEST, and therefore *just* barely fails to fill the void of the 'big sister' for most of them. She latches onto Hel because Hel lets her feel like the big sister she now thinks she needs to be.

edit: and more info! The eldest sister fell naturally into the role of a very accomplished Valk, pride of their mother and father, and all the other sisters rushed to her, and not Freya, for guidance. She knows her place, and she constantly reminded Freya of it. So she reinforced the sense of inferiority in Freya, on a constant basis.
