Amari stalked across the pridelands, head low and eyes downcast. He was merely half the lion he used to be. He knew who he searched for, and he feared what would happen.
Maybe Sukutu would be so angry he'd tear Amari apart on the spot. Perhaps that would be for the best, for the rusty-coloured lion had seemed to have lost his need to go on living...and yet he feared death...more than anything.
He paused in step, body shuddering as he reclined onto the ground, burying his face between his forepaws as he willed his heart to break and end him quickly.
No one would miss him anyway....would they?

The dark brown male padded softly across the plains, bright violet eye's and sandy mane obvious pick out of the large lion, who had recently become a father himself.
He knew not of the predicament between Amari and his adopted sister Maawio, he had been too busy with his mate and little one's.
Who where growing quite fast already.
However, as his light shaded eye's caught the rusty pelt of his brother-in-law, he blinked softly.
The male looked like he was on the verge of crying.
In an instant, he started to trot over to where the male was, brow furrowed concernly before he approached the side of the male.
"Amari? What ever's wrong?"

He almost jumped out of his fur as he heard Sukutu's voice and was on his paws in an instant, clearing his throat and putting on a rather serious looking expression.
"I'm glad you're here." His voice sounded a little croaky. "Something bad has happened. I've broken promises and...and I need you to do something for me."
He glanced at his paws, kneading the ground sheepishly. He didn't know what to say.
"I'm...I'm leaving the pridelands...for good."

The large male's eyebrow's shot up in an instant at this sudden news, his mouth hanging open just slightly.
It was every lions right to leave a pride if they wished, but, he had a family here now.
He'd met his new nephew shortly before the birth of his own children, so why leave now?
But he just nodded slightly.
"May I ask what you wan't me to do?..." He wouldn't ask why he was leaving.
People had their reasons...even if they where for the best or worst.

He appreciated Suku's ability to not delve deeper but Amari felt that he had to explain himself a little more. It was only right after all.
"I hurt Maawio...I I made a mistake...I think she thought it was worse than it was but none-the-less she is gone. There's...there's no chance she'll ever forgive me and I will never forgive myself. But if I stay here she won't wan't to be here and I know how much she loves this pride. I must leave so she can stay."
He swallowed, shifting from paw to paw uncomfortably. "I would like you to look after her for me, I have asked this of Bakhti too but...but she'll need all her loved ones close...to make sure she's okay." He choked on his words, "tell Maawio that if our son questions about his father later in life...tell her that she should tell him I am dead." He trembled, "it's better if he thinks me dead."

A twinge of strong protectiveness rushed through the older male's body, but his expression softened drasticly at what he was told to do.
What child wanted to know his father was dead?
Especially one like Amari?
The lion sighed, he didn't like the idea, but, for the young lion, he'd do it.
Sukutu watched Amari for a short time, feeling sorry for him before he moved over and placed a paw on his shoulder.
"Your son will never know where you've gone, just that you are dead to this world and this pride...are you sure you want this Amari?" He asked, soft hued eye's watching him.

He stayed silent for a long moment, thinking it over. There was no way he could return....no way.
"Yes I'm sure. He has a mother to love and cherish him and he has no need for me." He nodded, tears gathering in his eyes once more. "I am dead now, now and forever." He gave the large brown lion a watery smile, "I guess this is goodbye my friend, never again will I taint this land with my presence."
He smiled softly, "I still love her. That will never change. Thoughts of her will always be in my heart...probably be the only thing that will keep me going. I'm sorry...I'm sorry things turned out this way."
