AMITYVILLE ACADEMY ENROLLMENT FORM

Name: Cain
Cain does not have a last name; if you ask him what it is, he'll most likely give you the name of his Plague pack, Typhus, which is the illness his Plague pack disperses on the humans.
Nicknames: N/A
Gender: Male
Age: 15 years old.

Faction/Race Reaper - Plague***
Natural Ability: Naturally Immune Since Cain's species of Reaper is all about making people sick, it only makes sense that most Plagues have the natural ability of Immunity. Not just from their own illnesses, but from all illnesses. This factor is determined by the strength of their FEAR overall. The stronger a Plague, the less likely they are to get sick. At this point in time, it isn't impossible for Cain to get sick, but it IS incredibly unlikely to happen, and if he DOES get sick, it'll be a doozy.

Personality: (Let us know a little about them, give us a small paragraph about their personality, traits, character quirks, and the likes.)

Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? (what do they wish to learn, what classes are they interested in)

FEAR: (What makes them tick? AKA: what is their power, derived from fear. This is the fear they cause not a fear they have. I.E. this is their special ability.) Please do NOT create dice mechanics for this!

Physical Description:
Eye Colour:
Hair Colour/Style:
Skin Colour:
Clothing Style/Colours: (remember everything is Halloween-ish)
Extra: (mutations, bulbous nose, freckles, etc.)
References: (if applicable)

Black Death: A Study on Plagues

The story of the biggest gathering of Plagues known to man-and-monsterkind.

So what is a Plague?
To humans, plagues are illnesses that, on a grand scale, cause pandemics. They are so utterly wrong. Plagues, a subclass of Reapers, are responsible for the human world's most notable pandemics. The Black Death was the largest known occurence of a Plague Pack settling into a city and then branching out into multiple cities. Plagues move around in packs, or 'families', and typically share the same illness. By touch, or by breathing fog, Plagues cause illnesses that generally result in death. There are many branches of Plagues; Cain's Plague Pack is of the Typhus variety. After the Black Death pandemic, very rarely do Plague Packs group up into massive numbers enough to cause pandemics on that scale. They typically involve between 50-80 Plagues in one family, but rarely get bigger.

When I say 'share the same illness', this is not something they are infected by. It is what they spread into the world. They spread their illnesses in the hopes of Deaths, so that the Grim Reapers can collect the souls after they have left the body. Plagues do NOT collect souls! Though they do have a weapon as a defense mechanism, they rely mostly on their breath or touch to infect and kill humans for their souls.

If Plagues primarily rely on their breath or touch to infect, why do they also summon weapons?
First of all, as stated in the Reapers thread, all Reapers have some form of weapon or shapeshifting. They do not rely on their weapon often, though. They rely on Touch or Breathing. They do have to have their weapon summoned in order to infect humans, but this is a safety measure: Before infecting a town, the Plague Pack will move into the town disguised as normal humans. By not having their weapon summoned, they cannot accidentally infect a human by breathing in their face or touching their arm. Only when the weapon is summoned can a Plague infect their town, and this is usually done at once en masse by the entire group. The weapon also serves as a defensive weapon in the event they are attacked by an entity, human or otherwise, that is immune to their illness, OR if their illness is one that takes days, not minutes, then they can choose to use their weapon to defend themselves if the target strikes back.

Weapons are not cut-and-dry. There is no ONE specific weapon for a Plague. The weapons they summon are an extension of their essence, so the weapons are rarely the same for a Plague. Weapons typically manifest around the age of 8 or 9, and this is the time that Plague children are typically taken out and shown how to infect humans.

What sort of culture do Plagues have?
This depends exclusively on the Plague Pack. There are hundreds of Packs, and none of them are the same way. Cain's pack is very territorial when it comes to their Plagues. They take care of their own, but they don't expressly approve of or agree with other Plague Packs, so they typically steer clear of them when they can. When they can't, it usually dissolves into fighting. This ties into why he's at the Academy. Some Plague Packs are not so territorial, some welcome others to join them for a while to share ideas, trade goods, and learn. Others would rather perish. It all depends on the group itself.

One of the key things Plague Packs share is a set of codes. The codes differ depending on the group but they all revolve around the typical rules: The Pack Comes First. This is the Golden rule for Plagues, and for more than one reason. The Black Plague, the biggest pandemic, was one large group of Plagues vying for power. They degenerated into fighting amongst themselves, and soon the whole group perished. The Black Plague is something of a joke and an inspiration for Plague Packs. On one hand, they accomplished massive killing in one go. On the other hand, they turned in on themselves with useless fighting due to a lack of solid leadership and structure.

Do all Plagues travel in Plague Packs?
Yes. ...Except, no, but this is the worst sort of punishment. It's worse than death in a Plague's eyes. It's banishment from your home, being disowned by your family, and being ostracized from your community all in one go. Plague Packs see lone Plagues as bad luck, sort of like a woman on a ship. It's an old superstition, and there are some Plague Packs that might not hold to the old ways, but most of them do. The Old Ways are specific in the measures taken against the Unknown. Unknowns are not allowed to join another family; even if they wanted to, you can't just switch from one disease to another, so unless they joined another Malaria family, a Malaria Unknown would be relatively useless to the group.

This is why sometimes, disease will strike on a small scale, only harming a few people and rarely killing any. It's not because of a small group, but because of an Unknown Plague. If a Plague Pack strikes, typically deaths will occur.

As a sidenote, I'm not sure if his natural ability should be different from his ability to infect people by touch? Since that's something ALL Plagues have, but it's also what makes them a Plague, I wasn't sure. D: Clarification would be awesome!
