Choicers are cannibals. I thought this was understood?

I know. That's what I'm trying to get at.

I mean, there are certain choicers that are better than others, but if they're pro-choicers, and are actually FOR all choices, why are they making dead fetus jokes? It's just saddening.

Personally, I think that there are some issues that are unable to be made into humourous things.

To me, the jokes that they make is the equivalent of making jokes about the genocide in Rwanda, AIDS, or holocaust jokes. And only Sarah Silverman can do that.

And the choicers aren't Sarah Silverman.

My theory: They think we eat babies so they think it won't offend us.

Let me explain.

To them, we want to subjugate women, which is evil, I'm sure we can all agree on that. So to them, we're evil. Evil people eat babies. It's just a fact of life that there are evil people out there who eat babies.

Since we like eating babies, abortion upsets us, because babies are killed before they're ripe. Therefore, we are against abortion because it cuts down on our food supply.

Either that or they like to annoy us. It's sorta like talking about the thrill of hunting in a place where you know there are vegetarians around to hear you.

I know those jokes are immature and stupid, and they definitely dont belong in the abortion thread.

But I have friends, who joke like that. I've grown used to it, even though before I slapped each one of them every time they told a joke like that. I actually got them to stop for a while by starting to cry as they told their jokes. (This was at the time of my miscarriage.)

But now, I take them as jokes, nothing more. My friends have utterly grotesque senses of humour, so there's nothing really I can do about it.

But I agree with most people, telling these jokes just to annoy us is just stupid, and it doesnt belong in the abortion debate.

It stems from threethings. 1) the idea of humour that saying something totally offensive for the sake of offensiveness is funny, because a) its unexpected b)it flies in the face of social norms, and c)its funny because its NOT funny! (get it??), 2)the idea that offended pro-lifers is funny and 3) the attempt to devalue fetuses to the point of pointless "jokes."

As someone with a devloped sense of humor (that I dont show often, especially to strangers on the internet) I am offended the most by the whole "LOL POOP" aspect of the "joke." Its like the aristocrats to me. Its not funny because its offensive...that was funny in 3rd grade and even then, not to me. Its not funny because it flies in the face of social norms....again this kind of humor is only funny the FIRST time its done, once it becomes its own kind of social norm its no longer funny. Its especially not funny from the "its NOT funny, THATs the whole point!!!" aspect. This flies in the face of logic. Why tell jokes that arent funny to be funny? Its lazy. Tell a joke that is funny because it is funny for whatever reason...If the joke makes you laugh because it is not funny...then the joke IS funny and youre laughing for no reason....making the joke not funny again etc etc forever.

Anyways thats my rant about that...and this includes dead baby jokes. I laughed at them the first time they were told in 9th grade. The second time I heard it, or got used to the humor in general, it was a weak and cheap laugh from my point of view. I will say in that genre, I do laugh at some racist jokes, not the ones just being racist but the ones that are CLEVERLY racist. They borrow from the whole "lets offend people LOL!" but twist it with an actual hidden pun or joke, and I find that funny. Also Im not racist.
