Rais stood at the center of his dais, fingering the pouch that lay around his neck. He nodded his head at at the sound of the branches and leaves rustling of Laisidhiel. Laisidhiel swayed this way and that as if a small breeze was blowing, but if you looked just outside, the isle was calm and no other tree was swaying.
Laisdhiel was roiling with information. Rais had been listening for quite a while. When her branches swayed as much as it did, even birds and other animals near knew something was going on. If a pae had been walking by they would ponder why the tree was swaying when there was no apparent breeze around. They would ponder, but eventually shrug their shoulders and keep walking,
Rais gave a final nod and dropped his hand, The breeze that had been blowing only in Laisdhiel had stopped. Rais knew what to do. He set his face into determination. He needed the faun to come home.
He turned to look out of the tree and closed his eyes. He felt his thoughts go out to all the faun of the isle, in all the nooks and crannies, in every part of the isle...Faun would hear and stop whatever they were doing to hear this call. It is time... This call would bring every Faun to Laisdhiel and Rais would be ready. He turned to the ancient pae beside him and gave her a nod.

Another had heard the call...
The silvery-blue figure halted her progress, allowing the others to catch up with her. She moved like a pale shadow through the trees, swiftly and gracefully, never faltering and moving only for the pure joy of moving. At least, she had been moments before. Still, she never was too far ahead of her loyal companions."My Lady?" came a strong male voice from her right. "You heard it too, did you not?""What does it mean, My Lady?" piped in a dainty female voice from the other direction. It is time? Time for what? the silvery-blue female pondered. Whatever it had meant, the message had been touched with power. Power that resonated with the feeling of the earth itself. A nature magic so strong that...well, strong enough to have gotten her attention. Which said a lot.
She was silent for a bit longer, a thoughtful frown hovering over her visage, before she seemed to relax, her expression doing the same. "I do not know. But, I sense no malicious intent behind the message, so..." She trailed off, turning to offer a mischievous smile to her companions. "...I see no danger in answering this call to find out. Even if it were directed for another. Shall we go?"Enthusiastic responses came from the forest in all directions and with an eager light in her eyes, the bespeckled figure laughed and set off in a dead run for the source of the call. ===== The sense of magic and power grew as they neared a great tree in the distance, rising up to tower over even the tallest normal tree in the forest. It was a tree, but before they'd neared, it had looked more like a mountain. What manner of tree WAS this?
As they neared, other Fauns had joined the mass following. Fauns that the female was not familiar with...these were not her Fauns..."My Lady Artemis," spoke the male from earlier. "What is all this? I don't understand. There are others here, but...I don't know them.""Nor do I, my friend," she answered, with a gracious if somewhat distracted nod. Her attention was on her surroundings, ever on alert for danger, but more so considering the strange events unfolding. Her bow remained over her shoulder, but experience assured that she could have it free, notched, and ready to fire within seconds if the need presented itself.
She wouldn't tolerate any threats to herself or her companions.
And yet, still, she sensed no malice from any of these strange Fauns. If anything, they seemed as puzzled as she and her companions by the summoning message. Well, no better way to find out what's going on...
The traveling caravan neared the Great Tree, many of them staring upwards with their mouths hanging open in awe. Never had they seen such a majestic sight! And so many other Fauns around. One of the females approached Artemis hesitantly."My Lady? Er...the others were wondering...if we could take a look around...if that's alright with you?" She paused, waiting in case her request was denied; she could always say it was the others who had asked, not her.Instead, the deity chuckled softly, reaching out to pat the female Faun on her head. "Of course, my dear. All of you, look out for each other. We'll figure out what's going on here together." She smiled as the female trotted off eagerly to tell the others, then Artemis' gaze passed over the area. Somewhere here was the one that had called them all. Now, just to find them.
Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt, had arrived at Laisidhiel.

Kieran, while contentedly lying in bed with Calais, suddenly looks up. He'd felt something. Something strange. Something different. He glances over to Calais. "Did you feel that?" he asks. Without really waiting for an answer, he gets up and walks to the window. It's a strange pulling sensation. He walks to the boys' rooms. They aren't there. "Boys," he mutters to himself.
"I can't be the only one to feel this..." he muses. He pokes his head back in the room with Calais. "Calais, do you feel that? Like an invisible hook or something is pulling on you? You do? Perhaps we should follow it! An adventure!" He pulls his love out of bed and together they set off toward the source of this strange feeling.[Wolf if you're reading this I'm sorry for godmoding. >.> Thought since Calais is also a faun...]

Takis suddenly feels quite strange. He looks up from his conversation with Vanya in their secluded little spot in the woods. "Do you feel that?" he asks her curiously. "It's almost like something's calling me. I feel like it's calling me home, but I've never felt something like this before. Do you know what it is?" he asks her. Vanya was always wiser about the world than him. Surely she'd recognize this strange calling.

Theron is rocking in his chair, Lily in one arm, Tamara in another, when he feels the summons. Somehow he knows what he must do, but his duty is first as a father. He uncomfortably ignores the tugging at his heartstrings, and keeps rocking back and forth.First Lily, then Tamara, begin to fuss in their father's arms. They, too, feel the call, but cannot recognize it. And so they're left with feeling unsettled and restless. They begin to cry.Theron bends to kiss their forehead. "Shh, shush, my darlings. Your mother is asleep," he says to them, hoping his voice rumbling through his chest would calm them as it usually did. When it doesn't, he frowns. Perhaps they'd heard and felt it as well. He chuckles to himself. His blood did run in their veins, after all. He glances over to the bed where lays the sleeping Leilani, the love of his life. He didn't wish to wake her--she slept so fitfully these days with two new babies--but he didn't want to just leave with the children either.
Theron spies some paper and a pen, and he writes a short note: Dearest Leilani, I have received a summons, and have left for a small while. I've taken Lily and Tamara; they are safe with me. I love you dearly, and will return swiftly. Theron
He then puts on the carrier he had fashioned for the twins, that straps them both to his chest, and secures the two tiny girls in it. He grabs his staff and sets out to...wherever the summons would lead them.

The call...it was like an invisible force was pulling at him, at his mind and his body at the same time. It was unnerving...but also comforting. How strange.
Faroth stirred from his nap, blinking blearily and looking around. Vika had been fussy the night before and darn him and his helpful nature, he'd tried to help Kane out with her. As a result, none of them had gotten much sleep. He didn't usually nap in the day like this, but he had needed it.
Raina, the mottled grey wolf who looked much like Faroth himself color-wise, also raised her head, sharp eyes taking in all around them and searching for any sign of threat to herself or her bonded. Nothing. However, being bonded to Faroth, she too felt the call, if a bit muddled through their connection. Whining softly, she climbed to her paws and danced from one to the other anxiously.
"Yeah, I hear it...err, feel it," he corrected himself, reaching out a hand to pat her head reassuringly. The wolf nuzzled his hand, then looked in the direction the call could be felt from. "Yeah, alright, I'm up," Faroth muttered, climbing to his hooves. He stretched, yawning once, and shook out his limbs to rid himself of any stiffness. Then he shot the wolf a playful grin. Even if he looked like an adult, he still acted like a big kid. "Hey, Raina...up for a race?"
With that, the Faun was off like a shot, dashing headlong into the forest and towards the Great Tree, the wolf hot on his heels and grinning just as madly as her bonded. Did she know what that was? Yes, yes she did. Not because she'd ever experienced it before, no, nothing like that. She just...knew. She couldn't explain how...but it filled her with dread. Most Fauns would be comforted by the message, even if they didn't know why. However, Vanya had always been a bit more in touch with the spirit realm and the mystic, maybe because of her ability, maybe not...but she was in tune with the mystic world not just to feel the call, but to have heard it.
'It is time...'
Time for what? She didn't know, but she didn't really want to find out, since she could also tell where they were being called to. She didn't want to go back there. She'd left for a reason. She'd been happier since she left. She'd even met Takis out here on the Isle, and he didn't know anything about the Tree. Maybe he was better that way.
Then again, she wasn't sure she'd be able to stop him from answering the call. She wasn't even sure if she could resist it herself. But she was going to try...better that than go back there...
Vanya stood, distancing herself from Takis with a look of barely-contained panic in her eyes. The blood red orbs were wide, and they darted about as if looking for an escape route all while she started backing away from the direction that the call was coming from. "I...I don't know," she stammered, not even listening to what she was saying, only thinking of getting away without any questions. "Err...I'm sorry, Takis, I need to go...um...this way," she nodded, then started off into the forest, away from the call...though it was difficult to do so, almost physically painful. She stumbled once, but didn't fall, though it was difficult to continue.

"Vanya, wait!" exclaims Takis, fighting the invisible thread tugging at him to follow her the other way. She's his only friend, and he doesn't want to lose her. This calling has obviously really distressed her, and he felt like it was up to him to comfort her, to remind her that there is good in the world.
Maybe the calling was coming from the place that Vanya had left. Maybe that was why she didn't want to go back so badly. Takis stops to lean against a tree. He feels sick to his stomach, almost like he might vomit. "Vanya, please!" he calls. "Please tell me what's going on!" he pleads. If he felt this bad, he could only imagine how she felt, since it seemed to effect her more intensely.

She shouldn't have stopped; she should have just kept going, no matter how difficult it was. And yet, as hard as it was to fight the calling, that wasn't what stopped her. All it took was a pause, and she looked back at Takis...and she froze.
...dammit.
She wasn't one for cursing really, she never understood it anyway. But for some reason, it felt appropriate right now. She paused, one hand against a tree and let her shoulders slump, her eyes still turned back on Takis. She could tell he wasn't feeling well, and yet, he still persisted. For her.
She couldn't do that to him.
So she turned back, slowly, yes, but starting back in the direction she'd previously been fleeing from. Oddly, she started to feel better, but that was only in the physical sense. Mentally, she was starting to feel like being sick. How could she possibly go back there? After....after what she'd almost done?
Yeah, she'd told her friend that she'd left because no one accepted her there. That the parents shuffled their children away, telling them not to play with her. She'd said it was because she looked different or acted different.
That wasn't the whole story.
The truth was, they had good reason to keep away from her. A whirling ball of leaves suddenly bursting into flame and nearly scarring your children for life, physically and mentally? That was a good reason.
She didn't like dwelling on that part though. Easier just to run away and never face anyone again that remembered that incident.
"I'm sorry, Takis," she murmured softly, eyes downcast as she returned to her friend. "I really don't know, though. Not completely. Only that we're being called. Not why." Her eyes drifted upwards, staring through the trees as if she could see Laisidhiel from where they stood. If there hadn't been other trees in the way, she probably could, as her eyes were pointed exactly where it would be.

Takis tries, but is unable to quell the urge to take her hand. He wants so badly to comfort her, to make her feel safe and happy again. What had they done to her? She'd never told him her whole story, and while he'd never, ever push her for it....he was still curious.
The stomachache had subsided a little now that he'd stopped, though he still feels this intense tugging feeling backwards through his navel. He notices that he's sweating, despite the cooling forest breeze. They needed to move, but damned if he was going anywhere without her.
He squeezes her hand gently, wanting to hug her really badly, but he knows she's a little squeamish about physical contact. He watches her face as she watches the sky. She knew that they were being called, but not why. "But you do know where, don't you?" he asks, careful to phrase and intone it as a question, though he's fairly certain she does.
"I promise I'll protect you, wherever we go," says Takis.

Isolde was being, well, Isolde when the call happened. And 'being Isolde' meant bitterly walking alone trying to avoid anyone with their stupid non hooved feet. Even as an adult she couldn't see the practicality in them. How could you cross rocks and rough terrain with such fleshy nubs at the end of your legs? It would be painful and hard to do, thus really, why have them?
Her ears perked up immediately, as if hearing something, but she really didn't hear anything. Yet she turned and looked, as if knowing she had to go somewhere.
Truth be told, Isolde had never seen any other fauns. She knew they existed, or rather, she hoped that they existed. Her acorn had hatched far away from the tree, and since then she had been taking care of herself for the most part. And yet, she had this deep inside herself feeling that someone of her own kind was calling to her.
Perhaps it was all just hopeful thinking. Perhaps she really was the only one of her kind, but she wouldn't find out just standing there, so she started off, hoping and praying deep inside her lonely heart that this wasn't her just going crazy.

Seda sat up from under a tree. She had heard the call just as every other faun on the isle had heard it. It brought a smile to her lips. She wasn't sure what it meant other than she was going to go home. She had been exploring this isle for a while and was ready to see what the fauns' home was like. Seda stood up and galloped to the great tree.

Rais stood at his dais, he knew the fauns would be coming. He looked out of the tree and wondered how many question they would have? He would be ready, it was time and the call was out. He smiled to himself, he really was happy to have the fauns come home.

Amadorine was in the HQ visiting with her father and her rather complicatedly extended family when she'd received the call. She had been teaching Serendipity how to prune a house plant when she went ridged as the voice spoke to her mind and body. At first, she thought maybe her younger sister had heard it too, but when she asked the Fae, the girl just shook her head and looked at her older sister like she maybe going insane.
With a quick good bye to her father and the promise to drop by again, Ama had made a swift exit and rushed through the length of the island to get to Laisdhiel. Her hooved feet scarcely touched the ground as she used her Density Shift to make her body lighter and launching herself forward. When she finally got to the gathering, she skidded to a stop causing loose dirt to fly up a little. Trying to catch her breath, she looked around with wide eyes and brushed hair from her face as she took in the site; she wasn't sure what was going to happen, but damn was this going to be big.

Kishi had made a nice little home for herself inside the Tree. She had a cute little mid-level nook all to herself. She was sitting on the edge of her feather-filled pallet, blowing into a hollow piece of wood she found on the island. Ever since she was a sapling, she wanted to play music like her friend Pan. She had just gotten the tiniest sound when she felt a hum reverberate throughout her nook. She got up to look outside and noticed the tree was alive with a new energy.
Come home. She felt it. She didn't hear it, but felt the message. And she knew from whom it came. She approached the railing that lined the level and looked down towards the center of the tree where Rais' dais was located. She seen him standing proudly while faun gathered around.
Something important was going on.
She made her way down to the bottom, finding a spot to sit to listen to her Cheiftan's message.
