Sara had been asleep for a day or two. It was not the hit to the head which had been keeping her in comatose but the amount of spiritual energy that the spirit used up, her body was just not used to that kind of power and it had strained her. Though as the sun went down and darkness once again started to stain the land her eyes fluttered and opened. "Spirits help me... I feel like I have been drinking Yue's purple beer all night." She grumbled to herself recalling the state she was in after that drinking session with Yue and her devils drink. The first thing that went through her head was how sore and stiff her body had become. She leant up and ached all over, gritting her teeth she forced herself to look around. She had no idea where she was at first or how she got here. She blinked and laid back down to try and recall past events, though her memory was a blur, she remembered bits but not anything solid."What the devil is going on...?" She remembered coming to see Bataar, she remembered meeting his mother and some of the things that they did together in the clearing. However after that she was at a blank.
She pushed herself up and off of the furs that she was laid on, grabbing one and wrapping it around herself like a blanket. The tent was filled with a thick sent of sut and many other strange smells which she was not accustomed to. At first walking was strange, she felt so light headed that she almost feel back down to by some miracle she was able to force herself out of the entrance and out into the night. Her pale eyes soon caught sight of the fire just outside, she looked to the side a little because it was too bright for her sensitive head. Though sat by it she saw him and came to the conclusion this must be his home. She tilted her head to the side a little and wondered to sit near him looking to the fire now her eyes had adjusted. She felt the events slowly starting to return to her as she became more aware, though she was still a little drowsy and after two days of sleep she still felt tired. "Good evening." She forced a smile onto her face as she got comfortable, holding the material close to her almost like a comfort blanket. Her voice was as gentle and polite as always.
Her gaze drifted into the crackling light source that was before them and she watched as she smoke danced and rose into the sky. It was quite peaceful and despite her situation she remained quite calm. She could hear crickets singing and it was music to her ears. He really made camp in quite a beautiful place, then again she always found the outdoors to be a lot more to her taste than the city. It reminded her of the little village that she hailed from. "Hero, why did I wake up in tour Yurt? I can not remember anything and feel like I have the mother of all hangovers but... I do not remember going to the bar. Did I get ill or something? She turned her head to ask him genuinely confused.

Bataar had left Sarangerel mainly alone over the past few days. He wasn't a nurse and he certainly never wanted to be, and beyond that he felt slightly sour about having to fight her. He knew she'd been possessed and all, but it was hard to wrap his head around the idea that this possession was someone or something else. It was just hard when the appearance of someone remained the same not to think of them as an enemy, even if he knew better.
Odval had also yet to stop by, but he was considering bringing her just because Sarangerel had been taking up space in his yurt. After all, he couldn't have her here for a few weeks or anything-- Bat moved often. He was a true nomad in that sense of the word and he'd been itching to leave the clearing ever since the spirit had possessed the student. He poked the fire moodily, ignoring the girl's mutterings and only glanced up when she wished him good evening. "You're up." he stated, his face betraying his surprise.
Exhaust soon followed when he realized that she had no idea what she'd been doing here. "Just... I don't want to explain." the captain complained, putting his chin in his hand. It was pretty damned true that he wasn't much of a storyteller, after all. He thought that ought to be Odval's job.

"My goodness do not sound too enthusiastic will you." She joked with a small smile at his brooding and fed-up posture, she hoped she had done nothing to upset him. It worried her that she did not remember how she got here and in all honestly it gave the scene a quite surreal feel, a small part of her thought she was still asleep. She moved her body around to face him, the warmth was so comforting.
She gave a small bow of her head."I guess I should probably say thank you for letting me stay here. I hope I was not too much of a burden." She added with a nervous chuckle always feeling awkward when she thought someone had gone out of there way on her behalf. For a moment she looked up at the sky to see the stars, a smile was painted across her face - she loved being outside especially at night, with the fire and sound sound of the wind in the trees. It soothed her and put her in a good mood. One that she was hoping she might infect her company with.
"Your mother, was quite interesting. I do not know what I expected but whatever I did it was most certainly not such a beautiful and terrifying women. I do not mean that in a insulting way, she was just very intimidating on first meeting. Maybe not as intimidating as you but close, then again I did think you were a bear." She shook her head slightly as she recalled the incident at the river, enough time had passed to allow her to joke about it, she had mentally blocked the images that she saw that day and just hoped Bataar had learned his lesson about bathing in public, though she very much doubted it.

The Mongolian man knew he was being unreasonable but wasn't too sure how he ought to react given the circumstances he'd just had to deal with. "Look, it's a long story." he huffed glumly, his lips set in a rather unpleasant line as he chose to continue to survey the fire in front of him. The thing was, as he'd been thinking about it, he'd figured out that he really wasn't even sure what had happened to Sarangerel.
He shrugged a little, displaying outlandishly man-ish behavior. "You just kind of stayed there and didn't move once I put you down." he explained, as if it were the most normal thing in the world. His mood still couldn't be said to be good, but he was clearly becoming more tolerable company. The thing was, Bataar's confusion was never good and he had been confused enough to launch into philosophical thought which always seemed to be rather, well, depressing.
He stifled a smile as she explained her opinion on his mother and shrugged yet again. "She's always like that." he commented, wondering where the hell Odval was. She owed him some answers, not to mention compensation for running off and leaving him in this mess. She hadn't even come back and checked! That was awfully bold of her, considering that he was sure this entire mess was so obviously his mother's fault.

Sara laughed a little at how blunt he was being, well if he was being silent then she would have to be the talkative one, she did not mind - she had gotten used to starting conversation though she still did not do too well in groups. "Well at least I was not too much trouble, I have gotten into the horrible habit of sleep walking so I guess you got off easy on that one." She stated shaking her head a little with a small chuckle, she had managed to walk into the jungle whilst being fast asleep and she was not too sure Bataar would know how to react if she suddenly got up and started to wonder. Her masters said it was something to do with her connection with the spirits, if they asked her to follow them then her mind would tell her to follow. It was just another one of the joys of being a conduit.
She saw the small glimmer of a smile when she talked about his mother, even though Sara was scared of her did not mean he was - he proberbly loved her as much as she loved her own. "Well my mum, back home in that little village where I grew up, she is not intimidating at all, she is a women a little taller than me with a round face and a sweet smile. I look a lot like her apparently however I have my fathers eyes - hers are a dark brown. Anyway I doubt she has changed that much since I left. Still the same bubbly little middle aged dear." It was sad really, she missed her family so much - she wanted nothing more than to see them again though she knew she had to wait until she found her own place, hopefully when she graduated she would be able to arrange something, since she was still a student and under the protection of her guardian it made things hard.
Sara had always been a curious girl and some thing that she remembered Odval say had stood out to her. "Hero, can I ask you some things? Some things your mother said. Your clan, it did not meet a happy ending did it? She seemed quite bitter about it." Her voice was soft and rather concerned, even if it happened a long time ago she knew how much things from childhood could effect you, when they first met he asked which clan she came from. For some reason she felt like she had not given him the answer that he had desired. She looked away from him for a moment, her eyes distant in thought. "My memory is still all fuzzy but I think things are starting to come back... a little." She stated, more to herself than him as her pale green eyes once again found their way to the fire, it was like she could see little images in the dancing flames, as she watched she felt her mind returning to her. She held the furs tighter around herself, taking in a deep breathe and holding her forehead with her other hand, she had such a headache. Though she was trying not to let it get to her, she was not going to take her own discomfort and illness out on him.

Bataar managed to look faintly disturbed at the idea of sleepwalking, but hid it fairly well. He wasn't sure how he would've dealt with Sarangerel if she'd gone about walking in a zombie-like state around the clearing he'd set his yurt up in. "Well, uh, I guess it's good that you didn't." he responded, prodding the fire once more in order to get as much possible heat out of the logs. He felt far more comfortable with the fire now than he had for a while, and the smell of burning wood effectively conjured pictures of his nomadic childhood.
He nodded as the girl explained her mother, shrugging. His father had been a shell of a man after the clan had fallen apart, but his mother had continued on like normal, barely even pausing at the shock of Chuluun's death. She was, most certainly, independent of her family and he suspected that she might even have a few lovers-- which, by the way, was ultimately cringe-worthy for her toughened son to think about. He thought he ought to fight them off, if he could, because even if she was a raging beast, Odval was still his mother.
He glanced up at Sarangerel, offered her another shrug. "No, it didn't. We split due to the noble and legionnaire factions." he admitted, looking a bit weary at the mention of his clan. "There was a huge battle. That's why Odval only has one eye." he explained, nodding in a fairly subdued manner as she mentioned that she might finally be getting her memory back. "Uh, are you feeling sick?" he added hesitantly, for he had been watching the student carefully. That was one thing he might be able to fix, in any case.

"I see.." She mumbled looking to the side slightly, wondering if it would maybe be a good idea to side step that subject for the while. Sara had no interest in talking about war or conflict, it was a part of her life which she tried to desperately to ignore. Though it was hard to and a small part of her felt sorry for him and his mother, it must have been horrible to loose someone so precious due to conflict.
So instead of dwelling on the bad, she decided it might be better to remember the good, for her she had no fonder memories than when she was little. When she was not being bullied that is, she was certainly a child who could entertain herself and find pleasure in the littlest things. "It must have been interesting growing, up in a clan I mean. I grew up on a farm in a small village filled with people who did not have much money, we lived in small homes in the fields, there were trees, rivers and mountains. Such a wonderful place, not that the city is not it is just... nothing can beat the outdoors you know. So what was it like? When you were younger that is." He can not have been that old, in his twenties for sure but at the earlier end. She always thought her father was a large man, however he was quite something else. Huang and Jianyu looked very elegant, tall and slender, both very handsome. Though Bataar was a different kind of handsome, the others could get away with people thinking them citizens - there was no doubt Bataar was a fighter.
When he asked how he was she shook her head with a small smile. "No I am fine, at least I think I am just tired and a little dizzy." She stated not wanting him to worry, she had been through worse and knew there was nothing he could do for her, she just needed to take it easy for a couple more days."Anyway I totally intend on paying you back sometime, when I can figure out how, until further notice I guess I am in your debt hero." She gave a nervous chuckle rubbing the back of her head.

Bataar nodded grimly as they conversed, always open to the subject and death and destruction but often hesitant to discuss it with people who seemed as innocent as Sarangarel. For him it was nothing less than an absolute reality and he had spent many days battling legionnaires he knew nothing of. It was sad, yes, but he desired that his side and not theirs would succeed in the war. The Mongolian man believed in what he was doing and wasn't about to turn away from it.
He shrugged absently as she mentioned her own life in a village. In a way, he missed the clan-- he certainly missed the wide-open spaces and harsh weather. Nothing was quite as intense in the Imperial City where he was nearly constantly in a state of confusion, even now. It was also a lot harder to be taken seriously here, especially in his traditional fur-filled garb. "It was better than this, but here is where I must come if I have any hope of maintaining my allegiance in the war." Oh, he much preferred his homeland, but he had every intention of becoming a tenryujin and helping the nobles to win the war. It was, after all, a revolution of sorts.
He twiddled his thumbs and offered the girl another nod as she claimed to be alright. "There are a few plants-- at least out here-- that could help, but I don't know most of them in this climate." he stated, frowning at the still-unfamiliar flora surrounding them. Odval had taught him enough to survive on his own when they'd lived in the clan but it had been mostly shattered by this relocation to the Imperial City. It was warmer, for a start, and absolutely everything was different from the people to the plants. "And there's no need to pay me back. I mean, I didn't really do anything." he added awkwardly.
For once, he didn't seem to be acting his brutish self, perhaps because that was a facade he'd never worn for this girl and she didn't yet know his reputation as the dumbest, most insensitive and battle-ready man in Lunaria. It was nice, but all the same it was awkward to articulate maturity to someone who was actually listening.

Sara looked at him slightly confused, it was because she did not really understand the politics behind the war, she had never really gone out of her way to understand for that matter - it frightened her and at one point she thought if she turned a blind eye it would go away, how foolish she was. "Allegiance? I did not know that the war effected places outside Lunaria, my village was only small so I guess it did not attract much attention and was left alone. We used to hear rumours but everyone kind of kept to ourselves and tried to wait it out I guess..." She looked to the side slightly ashamed, she knew people had suffered a lot and her heart was with them. She did not grow up with the war surrounding her and she lived a reliantly happy childhood, having to deal with her abilities and a conflict growing up - she did not think she was strong enough to handle anything like that.
She smiled and tilted her head moving a little closer to him as he continued to talk, when she first came out she stayed away but she felt a little more comfortable now, she was still a arms length away but now their voices did not have to compete with the crackling of the fire. "What are your views on the war then? You seem a league away from a Academy student that is for sure. You seem... stronger." She smiled, he was a lot bigger than most men and had the scars of a man who had been around the block a few times. She did not want to make assumptions but if he was not a fighter she would be surprised, he seemed to be built like one. Most fighters she had met did not look too intimidating, however she would not want to run into him in a dark alley. She should be scared, however for some reason she was not...
She looked to the side a little. "I must sound so nosy, you just seem interesting is all." She did not know what else to say, she was always one to ask questions. He was so different to anyone she had met before she found herself wanting to learn as much as she could, where as most Lunarian's were so elegant, vein and obsessed with beauty and perfection he was such a refreshing individual. She remembered when she first came to the city she was scared. She came from a poor family and did not know all the mannerisms. She thought they would reject her, that they would make fun of her and hate her because she was not one of them.
She shook her hand and gave a small chuckle. "Haha, don't worry so much, it is so sweet, but I am tougher than I look. Well not really but I can survive a head cold, I would not want to put you out of your way." She reassured him, though she had to admit she found it interesting he knew about herbs, she wondered if Odval might teach her... did she agree to teach her? She could not remember? Why was everything... so fuzzy. "You could have left me outside in a ditch somewhere." She stated with a small smile. "Anyway I was raised to pay all my debts, so like it or not I will repay you someday." That was all she was going to say on the matter, there was no arguing with her about this.

Bataar nodded in reply, sighing. "I never thought we were affected by the war until the fight broke out, but this entire place is. Sometimes it's just a lot less noticeable." He rubbed his face with both hands, looking extremely world-weary as he surveyed the trees beyond the small clearing he still had his yurt placed in. It was strange to feel this battered and this... well, wise, he supposed. Sarangerel was not expecting him to act the fool and it was somewhat like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders. It was almost as comforting as Kaya's delicious earl grey creme tea which he had never even tried.
And... his views on the war? That was something no one had really bothered asking, ever. "The war is necessary." he replied, pursing his lips. "This revolution is important to me." he added, shrugging again as if to disclaim his words. He simply wasn't used to being taken seriously-- the shrugs, the nods, the small movements --they'd be necessary for the time being. They were his own way of displaying uncertainty.
Bat glanced over to the girl, trying to hide any looks of surprise. Last time he'd checked he didn't sound interesting. He shook his head, shrugged again(his shoulders were probably going to ache the next day). "This is probably Odval's fault anyway." he conceded with a ragged sigh, wondering if his mother was planning on coming back anytime soon in order to clean up the massive mess she had made with this student. There was really never any telling with Odval.

Sara looked over at him, she knew what his words meant and for some reason she was a little saddened to know they were on opposite sides. She had already made the mistake of keeping her alliance a secret from Mei and even though she was a little scared to admit it - she knew she had to let him know. Something deep down told her that it was the best way to go about it, to learn from her past mistakes and not end up loosing another friend because of her own stupidity and naive nature. "Ahh, so you are a Noble I take it. Well I will be honest, I lost my best friend through not admitting I am a member of the Legion. We might be on different sides but we are both Mongol's, I guess I hope that means more. You know I am no threat anyway." She smiled and closed her eyes, listening to the crackling at the embers. In the distance she heard the faint howl of a wolf, it looks like tonight the spirits were singing to her.
She laughed lightly at how quick he was to blame his mother, however covered her mouth with the blanket so her voice was mumbled as she giggled. "Well, I guess I need to have another word with your mother, when I get the chance." She stated standing up and once more adjusting the blankets so they were wrapped around her like a cape. They were so fluffy and warm, a small part of her wanted to take them with her when she left. "Anyway its late, I will be out of your hair in the morning I promise but maybe we should rest soon." She suggested, she did not want to think at what unholy hour it was, but the night was pitch black so she knew it was way past her bedtime. She wondered where he had been sleeping, admittedly she could not even remember what the inside of his Yurt looked like - there was something up with her tonight, that much was obvious.
She looked back down at him and then held out her hand to help him up, she could feel herself get weaker and knew she needed to rest a little more, hopefully in the morning she could make it back home. She smiled sweetly down at him. "Are you coming, hero?"

Bataar had come to learn over the years that as far as individuals were concerned, sides tended not to matter in the war. It was only when it came to battles these days that it was truly an issue. For the time being it was safe for both nobles and legionnaires to be friends, as far as he could see, and as long as it didn't get in the way of what he was willing to consider the greater good. "The war hasn't progressed far enough where that's too much of a problem." he commented, toying with a piece of grass he'd uprooted.
And as for his mother. Well, that woman was seriously in trouble. "Yeah, you probably should." he muttered irritably, scratching his head. Odval had some explaining to do, clearly. "I don't think I'll sleep yet-- probably just sharpen my sword." he responded, unsheathing the weapon and placing it carefully on his lap. He didn't honestly get the chance to use it much, especially as he didn't like to use it in most small battles, but when it came to leading his company out into a large fight with legionnaires his sword was absolutely necessary. It was meant to kill, not to wound.
He'd brought out the sharpening kit earlier and immediately tended to his job, being careful with the ripples of the gleaming weapon. He would let Sara sleep for now while he did this, and he'd probably while the night away, but it wasn't a bad sort of night. The moon was surrounded by a haze of blues and greens, nearly full, and the crickets and toads were singing their usual song. In just a few months, Bataar Jaoret would change more than he had perhaps in the course of his life thus far, but that sort of thing seemed distant tonight.
For tonight, everything was going to remain the same.
