So! My local Touhou FanClub got asked to make a Touhou booth in next convention (Yay~)
In case you don't know (Or I'm using the incorrect term), in a booth you basically explain X thing, and answer the audience's questions
So, I wanted to ask thee Touhou fans, what stuff should I take in consideration when explaining Touhou is, and what should I have in mind of whatever could be asked

Simplest Answer: Touhou is little girls in frilly dresses who fight with cosmic horror superpowers. mrgreen /nothelping
Seriously though, I'd recommend keeping it simple at first, and divulge into more detail if the person shows interest. Here's some of my thoughts...
"Touhou is a top-down arcade styled shooter game, something in the vein of R Type and Gladius ((*or whatever examples you feel fit)). In most games, the player chooses from one of many different set weapons types (piercing, homing, spread, etc.), over a cast of 2 or more player characters. Variables in mechanics aside, the main point of the game is to shoot down various enemy types and bosses over the course of 7 stages (6 main and 1 extra), all the while dodging the many beautiful patterns of bullets ((*explain the correlation of danmaku/curtain fire/bullet hell genra)) with the help of Life Ups and Bombs (screen-clearing/invincible period weapon) that can be gained during gameplay."
That's the simplest explanation for Touhou that I can come up with this late in the morning. (Just got off work xP) Hope this gives you ideas or inspiration, M'Lady Hakurei~ *bows*
Oh, and be sure they know that Touhou is NOT an anime, to avoid the rabid teeth of some of its more hardcore fans xD
