 Celestia was laying by a waterfall overlooking a cliff. She sighed softly wondering what her sisters were doing. She hadn't seen either one of them for the longest time and was curious to know how they were doing. Also there was the vixen that she had met recently. Celestia thought that she had been so cute, and she was still amazed that there had been a normal fox with wings.
The only foxes she had ever known to have wings were the phims and daevas, and she had heard about something called a Guardian but she had never physically met one of those before.

 Effie was super duper happy! So happy that her wings were slightly fluttering. She had a new friend, she was exploring, and Effie had recently seen a vixen somewhat like her! Of course, she hadn't caught up with her, as was Effie's luck, but it amused her to see someone like her!
And today she had seen a bunch of fireflies! Once she had thought she was a firefly! However, now she knew she wasn't! That didn't stop her from following a firefly to a river, where near the end was a waterfall. Nope, not at all! She loved how they sparkled.

She was watching a butterfly wander past her when she noticed the soft pink color moving toward her. Celestia moved closer to see what it was when she was greeted with the sight of the fairy vixen she had met earlier. A wide grin spread across her face as she drank in the sight of her. Just when she was thinking about how lonely she was who should show up but the very vixen that made her feel warm and happy.
"Effie!" She giggled happily as she waved a paw in the air.

Effie looked up when she heard her name, head tilting. "Owa?" She questioned slightly, spotting a familiar vixen. A smile crossed her face, tail wagging as she headed over to the 'Phim, stopping before her and letting out a soft, pleased 'chu' sound.
"Celestia! It's been a long time!" She mewed, ears flicking as she smiled at her. The 'Phim was just as she remembered her, pretty, nice (or so she believed since she had waved her over), and smelled nice!
"How have you been?"

"It has been far too long since last I saw you Eiffie." Celestia giggled.
The smaller pink fairy bounced over to her and Celestia couldn't help but think how adorable the smaller female was. There was just something about the cheerful fox that always brought a smile to her face. "I have been well thank you. I was slightly lonely earlier but...I fell much better now that I can talk to you."
The phim blushed as she looked to the side. She hadn't meant to say that at all. But it had slipped out against her will.

Effie giggled, nodding. "I know! I was beginning to worry if we would never meet again!" She smiled at the vixen, head tilting to the side when she saw a blush, moving closer to put her paw on Celestia's forehead.
"Are you sick?" She asked, worry in her tone. She smiled however, lowering her paw safely to her side. "I thought you were with your sisters usually?" She asked. The fairy girl fluttered her wings briefly as a firefly landed on her nose, letting it stay their until it fluttered away.

"Oh." Celestia blushed more, her cheeks hot as the blood rushed to them. "N..no...." She quickly shook her head, her curls cascading over her shoulders as she did. "I just....the humidity is getting to me."
For her own sanity, the phim pulled back and fanned herself with her tail.
"I was but the two of them got too busy to hang out with me." Celestia frowned as she looked down at the ground. "But you're here now." The phim forced her gaze up and smiled softly at the fairy.
"And I am happy again."

"Really? I made you happier?" She smiled wide, giggling once more. "That's wonderful!" She noticed the vixen fanning herself, tilting her head and fanning her with her own tail, too. "Better?" She asked, eyes watching the little glowing bugs around them.
She suddenly remembered her news, squeaking in excitement. "Oh! I saw someone similar to me! She's green though, and ran off before I could stop her." Effie seemed sad at this news, looking down. "I wish she stayed longer, what if we are siblings?"

Celestia giggled softly, "Yes well..your cheerfulness seems to be addictive what can I say." Her cheeks flushed with color again. Oh would she ever stop blushing? She continued to fan herself with her tail.
"Truly?" The phim's eyes widened in surprise, "There is another vixen like you. Oh Effie that is wonderful news. It is very likely that you have a sibling." Celestia beamed as she leaned down and nuzzled the pink fox.
"I am sure that you will be able to find her again Effie. If you want I could help you."

Effie giggled, tail wagging a mile a minute. The nuzzle made her squeak, nuzzling her friend back happily. She nodded happily, hair flicking over her shoulder. "I hope so! I'd love a sister! Though, it's okay because without one I'm happy with my fireflies and you!" She smiled sweetly, shaking her head.
'If it's meant to be, she'll pop up again! But, you promised to teach me to fly, right?" She didn't know that she'd never be able to fly, but, then again no one was there to tell her these things.

Celestia giggled softly as she looked down at the happy fairy. She had so much energy that Tia found herself jealous. "What is it with you and the fireflies?" She cocked her head to the side and studied her friend with a soft smile. "Oh yes..."
Her wings fluttered behind her, "I did promise you that I would teach you to fly didn't i?" She looked back at her wings. "First...show me how you wiggle your wings." The purple phim sat on her hunches and folded her wings back properly.

Effie looked at the 'Phim, smiling. "I've told you! When I hatched I had wings, and they were everywhere. I thought I was a firefly~" She said, laughing at the obscurity of it all. She watched the 'Phim, plopping down onto her haunches herself and nodding.
"Wiggle my wings?" She wiggled her wings back and forth, smiling wide. Then, she spread them to show she knew how, and grinned at her. Her tail wiggled, looking to the side to nudge a firefly.

"Oh of course....How could I forget that you told me that?" Celestia giggled as she watched the pink fox wiggle. "Very good...you have great mobility in your wings. I think that this might actually work." The phim smiled happily. "Now...show me how fast you can flap your wings."
Celestia cocked her head to the side. If Effie was going to be able to fly then she needed to be able to lift off the ground, therefore her wings had to be able to beat fast enough. it was all very precise calculating.

(( How are we going to have them react when they learn she can't fly? ))
Effie smiled, happy to be praised. She nodded, flapping her wings as hard as her little body could get her to go, pushing herself to the limit. However, it gained her the ability to float a little. This wasn't new to her, she knew she could do that much. But fly? She'd never been able to push herself hard enough to fly.
She landed on all fours once more, looking at Celestia with a tiny pout. "That is the best I can do." She whispered, ears lowering softly. "I can't fly even when I jump off things."

"Still that was very good." Celestia praised the pink vixen, even though she feared that the little fairy would never be able to fly. She could float that was sure, but flying required more then the little fairy could take.
"That was very impressive Effie...why don't we take a break for right now? I saw this patch of berries over here that I think you might be interested in." The phim offered her a soft smile.
