Hobbies:

Arts and Crafts-- Orin adores arts and crafts, from colored pencils to crayons to glitter—to his all time favorite, glue. He loves the sticky texture, and how it peels off your fingers, and how it’s the best for keeping everything together. His favorite days in class are the days where they're working to make something. He likes the construction process and the delicate artistry that comes along with it. The house is full of small trinkets he's made, and he loves to give homemade gifts. The creative process is one that Orin enjoys, and it gives him something to focus on while simultaneously letting his creativity flourish.

Daydreaming-- Raised with fairy tales by a father who wanted his son to grow up with hope and dreams, Orin has made what some might consider to be an occasional fleeting thought or wandering image into a full blown hobby. When he can’t sleep at night—which is often, as he’s bustling with energy and creativity—he lays in bed and stares up and his glow in the dark stars until long after they’ve lost their luster and daydreams—about anything. From fantasy to the day to day things, he often falls asleep in his fantasy. Which isn’t to say that daydreaming doesn’t actually occur during the day; when he’s alone, or inspired, he’ll sometimes drift into his own little world regardless of where he is. Rather proud of his more fantastical workings, and eager to share them, he's always eager to turn his dreams into stories to tell others.

Cows-- Orin, while not necessarily material child, has a particular fondness that borderlines obsession when it comes to cows. He adores cows—to the point where he is reluctant to eat them (but loves the taste just so much…). Cow print isn’t enough, though nearly everything in his room dons such a theme; he’s had a stuffed cow from his father since before he could even remember that served as the starting point for his collection. It has since expanded to include many more stuffed animals, and everything from cow themed piggy banks to hand drawn doodles tacked to the wall. His father allows this seemingly innocent hobby since it makes his son so happy, though he himself has no idea what is so adorable about cows. Orin would love to sit anyone down and explain—to anyone—everything his father seems to be missing.

Soccer-- A bundle of energy, like most young boys, Orin needs an outlet. He enjoys the social environment more than the competition. A team player, he is more than willing to share the ball. He's got a good kick, but only decent aim; capable of being easily distracted, the adrenaline rush can only keep him focused for so long. He plays for a local team geared towards boys his age, and through thick or thin, he'll never miss a game. He's got great sportsmanship and a good heart, but probably isn't going to be your best player—even if he does have a shelf full of awards.

Virtues:

Optimistic--Orin has always been able to see the good in things. He keeps an upbeat personality and has a favorable view on life that he likes to share with others. Even when times are bad, he stays hopeful and confident —if only because he doesn’t know any better. He doesn't get caught up in the negatives; it doesn't do anything to focus on the bad side of things. There is always something good to take out of any situation, and Orin is determined to do so. Satisfied with his own life, his optimism extends to others and he will attempt to brighten anyone's day if given the chance.

Friendly--The world is full of people to meet, and Orin couldn't be happier about it. He loves meeting and befriending new people. Having good manners is emphasized heavily in his own, and Orin goes out of his way to remain polite and courteous, however often dives head first into a friendship. He considers everyone a friend upon meeting, and it takes a lot of effort to sway him from this stance. He dislikes liars, cheaters and people who try to harm others, though people are human and make mistakes. He is quick to forgive if an apology is issued, and even if he finds a reason not to like someone, he still keeps a friendly demeanor. He is kind and helpful to nearly everyone he meets though is perhaps a bit overzealous about developing friendships.

Creative--Boredom is not something that plagues Orin. His creativity gives inspiration to nearly everything in his life, and he makes good use of his imagination. It extends not simply towards his optimism, daydreaming or storytelling, but helps him make it through life with a fresh perspective on everything. Even in the most mundane of situations, Orin finds something to be impressed and inspired, and he uses his creativity to entertain both himself and others. He is capable of thinking out of the box, and does so fairly often; he utilizes everything around him and always keeps things interesting.

Flaws:

Easily Distracted --Orin's mind is always racing, and as a side effect, he has a hard time keeping on topic. He tends to hop topics many times per conversation, and while he doesn't mean to be confusing, new thoughts and ideas are rapidly popping into his head. He stays as dedicated to a topic as possible, but sometimes has a hard time focusing. Colors, sounds, smells—Orin can set himself to a task, but unless he has strict guidance and supervision, he typically has a hard time getting things done. Homework? Takes forever. Chores? He always ends up playing with something. Orin is always looking for excitement and some sort of fantasy to act out, and the 'real world' is just too boring. Similarly, in conversations, he has a habit of zoning out, making a serious conversation with him rather frustrating when you have to repeat yourself half a dozen times. It's not intentional on his behalf, and despite profuse apologies and grief, it's something he has yet to correct.

Ignorant --His optimism often makes him ignorant of the world around him. In seeing the good, he forgets that not all things have good endings. He assumes that everyone has good intentions and ignores information that goes against his beliefs. When it comes to people, Orin is all ears. When it comes to facts, his mind tends to wander. He keeps up with his schooling due to his desire to make his father proud, though lacks general knowledge and awareness about the world around him. His ignorance tends to get him in trouble when he goes into things with misconceptions, and often times he fails to retain information provided to him unless it is of particular interest.

Tactless --Orin might be creative, but he does not have any subtlety. He is blunt and sees no topic as too delicate to approach. He does not possess the ability to keep his mouth closed upon sensitive matters, and he is not to be trusted with secrets. He means well, but has no censor and no skill when it comes to broaching things with finesse. While he means well and tries to be sensitive to others, he can be a bit brash. When it comes to plans, he hasn't got one; he doesn't think, just does. His lack of discretion and inability to control what he says means he sometimes pries into personal topics shamelessly, and his inability to keep secrets makes him a weakness in anything that requires privacy.


PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: Forest green, his eyes are slightly rounded; he has fairly long lashes.

Hair: Messy black hair that frames his face; it is the same length all the way around and falls to about mid neck. He has bangs, however, are shorter and are almost long enough to be getting in the way of his sight, so he’s constantly brushing them away.

Face: Heart shaped face, most often with a wide smile.
