Such perfect days were the kind of days that Edmund usually found himself working in the little garden that he'd made on the school grounds. Normally he'd run to the local garden store and pick up a few things, maybe browse and see if there was anything that caught his eye that he'd want to plant. Unfortunately though lately it didn't seem as safe with the hostility levels rising from the humans. He looked normal enough for the most part but his large cow spotted angel wings were a bit of a chore to hide and binding them was one of the least comfortable things to do.

The situation certainly made him feel sad. He'd never had problems with humans due to his gentle nature, and he was always good at ignoring any comments that may have occurred. He also felt sad for the meta that had caused the issue. He wondered what could have happened to make them feel like they had to kill those people.

Since he couldn't go to the garden store like usual he'd decided to make a visit home and transfer something from his garden there. His mom had come to pick him up since he still didn't know how to drive. Edmund had worked in the garden a bit before picking a few vegetable plants to transfer. He thought that it would be good to have some vegetables at the school because of the unstable relationship with the humans. Sure he couldn't feed the whole school with the vegetables he had but, it was something at least. After working a bit he'd settled down with a glass of ice tea with Sun. By the time she dropped him off with his plants he was feeling much more lighthearted.

Making his way over to his garden with his arms full of plants, the last thing he expected was to see another person there. He all but dropped the pots he was holding in shock when he saw Yoo sitting there sketching. The shock was quickly replaced by an extremely pleased feeling. He rarely came across anyone in his garden besides his family or maybe Aiden. The fact that someone wanted to stop and sketch something that he had worked hard to help grow and care for made him feel happier then he would have guessed.

Edmund remembered meeting Yoo once at a sleepover long ago but it had been a long while and he was unsure of his name. He stood there frozen, not sure if he should say anything and interrupt, he didn't want to ruin the moment. But the pots were too heavy to hold all day and they really needed to be planted today.

"Um... Hey there. It's Yoo right?" Edmund offered Yoo a slightly nervous smile. "Will I be bothering you if I work on putting these in over there?" Edmund nodded his head towards the other vegetables.

It was Edmund's turn to blush from all the complements he was receiving about his beloved garden. "Oh ah I did plant them and... Thank you I'm glad you like it." He shifted the pots in his arms a bit, suddenly feeling a little shy. He really wasn't used to getting any sort of compliments from people, or much attention from strangers. Usually when he was with his family people gravitated towards his more colorful, both in looks and personality, siblings. It was rare for him to bump into someone he didn't know on his own though.

"But um... I think you're right. We met once at a sleepover I think. I'm Edmund...in case you forgot." He added the last bit on a little hastily and then started heading over to the spot he intended to place the vegetable plants. He set them down and then stood to rest his tired arms and to look at Yoo properly. It seemed Yoo had grown into an adult since he last saw them when they were both kids. Somehow everyone seemed to grow faster then him. Part of him was very curious to see what Yoo was sketching but he didn't want to be nosy. His soft brown eyes kind of drifted towards the sketchbook though.

Edmund blinked at the sudden offer of friendship from Yoo. Yoo had offered to help him in the garden and even to paint pictures for him. It was a little overwhelming but in kind of a good way. Another little blush floated onto his face as he peered at Yoo's smiling face. He finally did smile a rather happy looking smile as he extended his hand and grasped Yoo's in his own to shake it.

"That sounds like a deal Yoo. I think I'd like to be friends with you. I'd really... like some paintings of things in my garden. That would make me... happy." He finally settled on that as the emotion he was feeling. He felt like there were tinges of other emotions that he might be feeling if he let himself, but he decided not to ponder on them or pursue them for now.

"But it would make me happy if you helped me in the garden too. Maybe you could help me pick out flowers or something. I usually have to have someone help me with the colors." His eyes drifted to the ground slightly. "I'm colorblind so... I'm not always sure if I'm picking out the right kinds of colors to go with what I already have there."

Edmund chuckled slightly at Yoo's joyfulness. Seeing him so happy put Edmund in a super happy mood too.

"Oh no... I don't really have anyone 'special' persay.... Sometimes I give them to my Mom, though she gets to enjoy my garden at home whenever she wants." Edmund blushed slightly. Sure he wished he had someone special, but he hadn't really met anyone that made him feel that way in a while. He was hoping that was about to change though.

"But yeah I was going to plant some new things. You can definitely help me if you want. I've already got the supplies out here." He pointed to a pile of garden tools. "If you want you can water some of the plants while I dig the hole for the first one? Or you can dig and I can water if you want."

Edmund gave a soft smile at the comment about making Sun feel like the most loved mother around. He really hoped she did, and the thought that just him bringing her flowers might make her feel even a little that way made him really happy. Then suddenly Yoo was running here, there, and then over to the shovel before he could even properly open his mouth to answer his question. Edmund just smiled at him and gave a little chuckle at the captain comment. He didn't mind at all that Yoo wanted to do the digging and wasn't really worried whether he looked strong enough for it either. Edmund was not one to judge by appearances or stop anyone from trying to do something they wanted to try as long as it was nothing unsafe.

"Here I'll show you where to dig." Edmund began walking over towards an empty spot. "Hmm.... right here should be good." He crouched down closer to the ground and gave a little glance at the plant he wanted to put in. "If you could make it about this wide... and this deep, that would be great." First he gestured on the ground for how wide, and then in the air for how deep. "While you do that I'll do some watering." Edmund stood and then moved out of Yoo's way so he could get started.

Between watering other plants Edmund gave the occasional glance over to Yoo, watching him quietly struggle. He almost opened his mouth a few times to tell Yoo it was ok, and that he didn't mind taking over and finishing while Yoo worked on other things. It was just that he looked so determined to Edmund, he didn't have the heart to tell Yoo to stop. He just kind of shook his head to himself lightly with a little smile and kept to his watering.

Edmund did of course look up once Yoo announced he was done though and gave the other a smile. Yoo was drenched in sweat but Edmund didn't think anything of it, he had been in that state many a time after working hard in the garden under the sun. With a downward glance he assessed the hole that Yoo had dug and then began walking over closer.

"You did a good job Yoo." He gave him a quiet line of praise and a soft smile. "As long as you don't mind getting your hands a little dirty...I think you'll do just fine without hurting the plant. You just want to place it in there and gently fill the dirt in with your hands." He paused and looked over to his tools thoughtfully. "I even have work gloves you can use if you want." He made his way over to grab them and offer them to Yoo. "Once you're done that you should water it. That's it." He then glanced at the other plants waiting to be planted and then back over at Yoo who was covered in sweat and looking a bit worn out and then held his hand out for the shovel. "While you do that...I'll get started on the next hole ok?" He didn't want to call attention to the fact he could tell Yoo was worn out, and tried to just offer it as a thing he could wok on while Yoo was busy with something else.

As Yoo toiled nearby, Edmund worked at digging a hole of his own. While he did so he continued to keep and eye on Yoo, making sure he was alright and not straining himself too much. For him digging a hole proved to be no trouble at all, he'd started working in the garden as a child and all his hard work showed both on his bod and in the speed at which he was able to do it. By the time Yoo had finished up planting what Edmund had given him to plant, Edmund had already finished digging.

Waving back with a smile, he walked closer back over to where Yoo had finished to take a look. He had seen Yoo working hard to settle in the plant gently from afar, and his care showed up close too.

"It looks very nice Yoo. You took good care of it and I'm sure it'll live happily there." Crouching down he gave the plant a little stroke to help activate his power of fertilization on it.
