Hank looked up at the sky; overcast and rainy. He was still resisting moving into the dorms, instead relying on his car, parked away from the academy, and a long walk to the gate to get to classes and back home. He just wasn't comfortable living with all of these people, smashed up together. Yes, it would have meant he could see Adeline more often, but . . . he just didn't want to give up the house, and his relative freedom as a meta that didn't stick out too much.
It wasn't time to go yet - he left after dark - so he was wandering around, wasting time. He saw a pinkish purple girl up ahead, and waved. He thought that was cousin Willow.

There was something about trees and forests that always caught Willow's attention and drew her to them. She often found herself getting distracted by something related to them and could often be found wandering about in the woods or sitting under a tree. Currently she had found herself distracted by the sound of scattered raindrops falling through the trees and the occasional splishing noise as they hit the leaves.
She was decked out for rainy weather today. All her clothes were things she didn't mind getting drenched and on her feet she wore purple rain boots. She might end up feeling like jumping in puddles after all. In her hand she was carrying a large umbrella that was purple and see through though it was still wrapped up. So far the rain wasn't falling hard enough for Willow to justify opening it and the raindrops were kind of refreshing besides.
Out of the corner of her eye she spotted a figure walking towards her and she turned to face them. It turned out to be her cousin Hank that she hadn't seen in a little while. As he waved to her she waved excitedly back as a grin broke out over her face. She began making strides towards him, boots squishing in the wet grass.
"Hey Hank! What are you up to?"

Hank squelched toward Willow when he saw her, and wished his sneakers wouldn't let in so much water. He was fond of his cousin Willow, as far as his cousins went. She had been nice to him when they first met, and she was actually a decent person. Unlike some of his other female cousins.
Besides, according to Ask, who had it from Kei, who had it from Isolde, Willow was pining for someone of her own. Maybe she'd be willing to talk about it from a girl's perspective. And give him an idea of where to hang out with Adeline.
Which was a lot more difficult with this lockdown on.
"Hi, Willow, how are you?"

"Oh I'm doing.... well very well really!" She had nothing much to complain about oddly enough. The lock down didn't really bother her much at all, she'd always thought that most humans were kind of jerks with the exception of her mother, her aunts, and some select few others. She was perfectly content to be isolated in the school with others like her kind. Also it was raining out, and rain always made her happy. She'd been thinking of a certain bee boy as well, so that was also making her feel lighthearted.
She gave Hank a bit of a happy beam before opening her mouth to speak again. "The rain is just really lovely today. But how are you doing?" Willow was fond of her cousin Hank too. She saw him less often then Ask but she was sure that was due to his more reclusive nature. Still though he made the best sandwiches and was rather smart. The fact he wasn't mean was a point in his favor too.

"Just waiting until full dark falls so I can get to my car without being bothered. It's good you're doing well, with all of this craziness going on. Is you're mom doing alright?"
Hank was often concerned about his own mom, although she lived a quiet life and he didn't think the neighbors knew he was a meta. He had no wings, and they kept to themselves, and the hat he wore habitually covered his ears. He was pretty sure she would not be a target.
"I hope this fervor dies down soon, I'd like to be able to move freely again."

Even the subject of her mother potentially not being ok didn't seem to phase Willow right this moment.
"Ah well... you know how she is. She'll be nice for a long time but if she gets pushed too much about something she really feels strongly about she'll push back. I'm not that worried about her, she knows how to defend herself pretty well. She did say that if things got too bad she'd move into the housing on the grounds until things cool off."
Spinning her umbrella on the tip in the mud she tilted her head thoughtfully before speaking again.
"I hope so too. I know it's been upsetting Edmund and Kei in particular. I really hate seeing them upset." A small frown appeared on her face for the first time during their conversation today.

"I figured Kei wouldn't be too worried since he's got Ask now. And his best friend. The rich girl." Hank frowned, trying to remember her name. It sounded vaguely French, he thought. "I thought Gavin would be more upset, considering the whole 'don't leave the academy' thing. I guess it's easier for me. You guys would have a harder time sneaking out even if you didn't have wings." He frowned again.
"Now that I think about it, this whole 'no leaving the academy thing' might be a problem for me as well."

"Oh well yeah, Kei and Ask are busy making heart bubbles all over the place. Think it's kinda making Isolde feel like a third wheel though." Willow frowned a bit. "But I think Kei wants to be a model or something like that, so how's he going to do that now, you know?" She slung her umbrella over her shoulder.
"But you're right about Gavin though. I think he feels totally cooped up. Probably won't be long before he hatches some sort of plan to break out." She smirked a bit at the thought, gaining a bit of a mischievous expression. Her eyes then narrowed and fixated on Hank curiously. It wasn't like Hank to worry about not being able to leave a place. She was sure usually he spent most of his time cooped up in his room.
"So why's it going to be a problem for you hmmm?" She grinned at him hoping the answer was going to be something awesome.

"Well. Um, I might have a date. With Adeline. Maybe. I'm not sure if it's a date or not, but, well, it might be. And, you know, we're shut in on the grounds."

Willow broke out into a beam. She was so excited for Hank, even if he wasn't totally sure it was an actual date.
"Really Hank?! That's so awesome. I bet it totally is a date." She grinned at him mischievously and batted at him with her umbrella playfully. "But there are still plenty of things you guys could do for a date on the grounds. You just have to think outside the box a little."

"Well, I was thinking - since there are the apple trees on the grounds - we could go apple picking or something. And then I could make some turnovers. But she always dresses so nicely I don't know if she'll really want to go out and be in the trees and the wet grass. I think she'll like my turnovers, though, almost everyone does. And it's getting chilly now. What do you think, Willow - would that be a good maybe a date maybe a not a date thing?"

Willow hummed thoughtfully at Hank's idea. "Well that sounds like a good date maybe not a date thing to me. I don't really know Adeline that well though I'm afraid. I mean just because I like it doesn't mean she will....I'm not exactly the most typical of girls you know." She looked down at her mud splattered boots a moment and then looked back up at Hank. "Maybe you could think up a few options and ask her which she would like to do best! Maybe if she doesn't want to actually pick the apples, you two can have a cooking date." She tilted her head to the side and tried to think of other types of things they could do that didn't involve being outside. It was hard since almost everything she did involved being outside.

"Yeah, she should have a say in it. Who knows, maybe she'll even have something in mind that she wants to do. I don't really know about her hobbies or anything. I just know she's amazing."
Hank stopped himself there, before he began praising her more. That would probably be awkward for all involved. He would spare Willow (and himself) that ordeal.
"I guess it will just take me time to come up with something good enough. Or the courage to ask what she wants. I didn't even mean to really ask her out, it just happened all of a sudden . . ." Hank trailed off. "I should stop dominating the conversation with platitudes of love and trouble. How are you enjoying living in the dorms?"

Before she could help it a little giggle escaped Willow at Hank saying he was dominating the conversation.
"I didn't mind listening to you platitudes.... whatever that word means." She gave him a broad smile. "Really though I don't mind listening about your love life or about how wonderful you think Miss Adeline is." She batted her eyelashes jokingly. "I'm sure I'd babble on ridiculously if I had a maybe date with um...." Willow glanced away quickly and then back. "The object of my affection." She gave a slightly nervous giggle before clearing her throat.
"But living in the dorms has been good. Isolde is really nice, I get to hang out with new and different people, also the grounds are really beautiful." It did help that the aforementioned object of affection was there too. She tilted her head and looked at him curiously. "Are you going to move to the dorms any time soon Hank?"

"I doubt it. I don't really see the point. Not now anyway. I am comfortable at home, and I like the space. Besides, there always seems to be so much shuffling and activity in the dorms. I don't want to share a room with someone I don't know. I feel like you lucked out with a good roommate, if you and Isolde get along."
Hank didn't like the idea of living in a room with a hall full of people on every side of him; it sounded intrusive and uncomfortable. Not his idea of comfort at all.
"I have my own place at Metz's house that is beautiful. Maybe one day. Or when I finish growing, maybe into the housing on the grounds. That would at least give me some breathing room, I guess. But I am not in any rush to leave Metz or to come here."
