I have dramatically improved on my singing over the past year. I hope to have a career as an actress on Broadway (or to be a rock star xD) so my singing is very important to me, and I am always searching for ways to improve my voice.
I finally got around to recording some covers today, and I'd love it if you all could tell me what you think :3 Thank you!

Better than me. So I can't really say anything.

Good job, takes some balls to post these up.

Haha thanks... well people who don't ask, are just afraid of criticism. But personally, if I am terrible then I want to know, so that I can improve razz

Well...I see great potential, and there's definitely something there. I can't tell if your using your chest voice or not though. Voice lessons would be good though, I think you could go a long way with some guidance.

I think there's a lot of potential that you don't know how to use yet. I also recommend some coaching, seeing as you're taking this seriously.

You are the apple...

I'm with everyone else that's there is quite a bit of potential there, particularly with the Flyleaf covers as you sound quite a bit like Lacey. Work on it, maybe get some coaching, and you could go far.

and I am your core.

Here's the thing... and this is just my personal opinion, you can tell me to shove off and that's okay.

I think you have a great voice, and like every one else I think you have great potential. Other people have recommended a vocal coach and here's my opinion on that.

I had a vocal coach and she helped me improve my range greatly, and helped me fight through my tone deafness (which I no longer have). I would recommend a vocal coach if you want to sing on Broadway BUT NOT if you want to be a rockstar.

The first thing my vocal coach did was smooth out my voice, and that helped a lot while I was doing musicals, but it got rid of the raw quality a lot of bands look for in their vocalist.

You're a little nasally for my taste, but since you want to sing on Broadway, I think a vocal coach would take care of that. Otherwise, I think you sound pretty good. (:

I definately think that I am in need of a coach if i want to be on Broadway. I think that first, to be honest, I am going to see where I can get with a band. I have a (talented) friend who wants to start a band when he comes back from colege, so we hope to work on that when the time comes. I need to work on staying on key and such, because in Have We Lost and I'm Sorry i can never get that right.

Thank you for the feedback smile Once I see if me and a band could make it, then I'll start working on getting a coach.

Thank you smile
And with the nasalization, hehe I'm trying to work on that sweatdrop
It's my way of escaping from the notes that I can't quite hit, and I'm trying to get some more experienced friends to help me.

They say you waste time asleep...

Strengths:
Vocal octave. It's something you're born with, you're a contralto.
Voice quality. You've got very little rasp in your voice, but that's not necessarily a good or bad thing depending on what kind of music you want to sing.
Tremolo. It's that kind of natural, auto-tune sounding thing you do with your voice. Only really talented singers can pull it off well.

Things that need to be improved on:
Power. You need to have a bit more emotion when singing. No matter how hard you try, there is always more room to be more powerful. On that note, SOMETIMES, less is more. But if you want to sing rock, more is more. Really.
Projection. Imagine you want your voice to reach a particular point. Attack that point you are visualizing with your voice. That's how you properly project.

Weaknesses:
Eye contact. This is the speech student in me talking, but it's better to maintain eye contact with the camera or audience whenever performing. It connects you with them a bit more. Even if it seems awkward to you to watch yourself look at yourself when you play back the video, trust me, it's simply much better for the audience to see your eyes instead of seeing you looking up or to the side. If you need to, close your eyes and place your hands on your chest. It might help with nervousness and it seems natural.
Natural metronome. A couple times you lost beat. Maybe snap your fingers or softly pat your leg to keep track of time while singing.

...but I'm just tryna dream.

One good song to practice singing for warming up on power would be Hallelujah by Paramore. If you're not religious, don't freak out, it isn't a worship song.

i think u need to work on ur diction, and your breathing/phrasing. when it comes to being a rock star these aren't very important but if u want to be on broadway people are going to tell u to work on these. the younger u are when u learn these the easier it becomes to sing while using these strategies without thinking about them. they kinda become automatic
other than that its great i love it!
