She-Ra of Etheria

She-Ra was in one of those moods today. Her mentor Pirata had done a foolish thing and had foal with some stallion she had met in her swampy home. How many times had they discussed at length of how useless foals were? That they were a burden on society and that those weak-blooded Soquili down in the valley did nothing but breed, swelling their numbers. Oh she knew that foals were needed to keep a population from dying out, without babies all life would cease to exist. But why did her mentor had to go and do it? This wasn't jealousy, no, far from it. Honestly She-Ra somewhat missed the talks her and Pirata had. They were inspiring and instructive, they tested her wits and made sure she knew all that she needed to.

So with Pirata off taking care of her spawn and her Master doing whatever it was that he did while he was out She-Ra was left to dwell on things. She wanted to get moving, they had sat dormant for long enough and lust for blood coursed through her veins. She needed to be able to prove to her Master that she was ready, that she was the tool he had helped to mold. It wasn't just about knowledge of battle tactics and a general hatred of the weak. Nor would being able to beat another in a mock fight be enough either. However, she could not rush forward, she needed to wait until her Master said to move and when he did, she would show him what she was truly capable of.

There had been rumors, rumors that had caught her attention enough to waste a day and go check it out to see if they were true or not. Apparently, according to the whispers going around a purewalker had taken on a few Soquili as his followers, but the one that was mentioned the most was a mare, just a regular Soquili, who while looked normal had been molded into a soldier who preyed on the weak. She liked the sound of that, to a certain extent, just a shame the mare in question wasn't a Kalona. But even so, to have a purewalker take the time to even bother with such a project amused Alti greatly.

And with that knowledge in mind and a vague direction of travel Alti had taken to the air, following the whispers of frightened Soquili who feared the purewalker and his student would soon reign terror upon their lands. As the land turned dark and barren Alti knew she had arrived at the right location. It didn't take her long either to find the mare. Her golden hair stood out among the greys and browns of the land. Tipping her wings Alti landed a short distance away from the mare. "So you're the one that has everyone running scared. I don't see why." But Alti knew well that looks could be deceiving, so she waited to see just what this mare would say or do to prove her words wrong.

A shadow glided across the ground and She-Ra was instantly she was on alert. One thing she could not do was fly, but that didn't mean she would allow some winged Soquili to invade her Master's territory. When the Kalona landed not far away She-Ra let her eyes sweep over the the mares body quickly to judge her condition. She was certainly well muscled and those horns could do serious damage if she let one hit her. "Save your words Kalona. For they will be your last." She-Ra snarled at the mare. Kalona were generally a savage breed, not nearly as much as skinwalkers were, but still dangerous in their own way. None of that mattered right now, for this mare was trespassing on Master's territory and that would not do.

She gave the Kalona no time to say anything else. Closing the gap between them She-Ra reared, aiming her hooves for the mares side. If she hit the mare right she could break or even rip the wing clean off, then the Kalona would be grounded and they would have a real fight. She would not stand the the mare flitting about trying to avoid her hits or attack from the sky, if they were to fight they would fight properly. Teeth came clashing down towards her neck, she would be certain to avoid the horns if her bite took hold. Her hopes could be to kill this mare and present her body as a prize for her Master to feast on when he returned, or Pirata's spiders. Either way, She-Ra did not plan to let this mare fly or walk out of here.

The mares hate filled words, the look within her eyes and the way she had been so quick to jump into a prepared state as Alti had set down proved that she was certainly not a softy. It was one small step to proving whether the rumors were indeed true or not. Alti smiled viciously at the mare. "Perhaps you are the one that is wasting your words." And then the golden haired mare attacked. Alti was never much for words anyways, actions meant more to her. And this mare had chosen actions over words, something Alti could respect...even if she wasn't a Kalona. Of course the mare wouldn't survive.

With her wings tucked tightly against her side Alti had them as well protected as she could for the blow. She did not move out of the way of the hooves, instead she let the blow hit her, but adjusted her body so that her wings would not be badly damaged doing so. She the golden mare set her teeth towards Alti's neck she tossed her head up, horn tip headed straight for the damn mares eye. The fight right now was but childs play, they were simply warming up, testing each other, the real fight would start in a moment. Twisting her body to move with her head Alti swung around and kicked out with her back legs towards the mares flank. Flanks were sensitive and a well placed kick there would certainly slow the mare down.

As her hooves slammed into the mares side She-Ra thought her to be both foolish and a worthy opponent. Very few would be willing to take a hit like that, but this Kalona knew exactly where to position her body for the hit so it did minimal damage. Any other horse would have received broken ribs or worse, but this mare only got a few minor scratches. There was almost no time to move her head before the horns came slashing at her. With a quick flick of her head She-Ra saved her eye, but felt the horn scrape across her check and jaw. It had not cut overly deep, but facial wounds had a bad habit of bleeding profusely.

Seeing the mares body move out of the corner of her eye She-Ra bucked at the same time Alti kicked out. Their hooves clashed together in mid air. As her legs came down She-Ra kicked out with her front leg again aiming for the mares front leg and bite at her neck once more, this time aiming lower down where she could still do good damage but would not be so close to those horns. This was no mock battle like she had done countless times, this was real, and her opponent would not stop once they had tested each others strength, this would be a fight to the death and She-Ra knew it, and likely so did the other mare.

Alti was almost impressed by this mare. Of course she could never be actually impressed without some presence of Kalona blood in her, but this was as good as it got. Obviously Baraccus had invested a great deal of time and effort into training her and she could only get better with a bit more. Though Alti's mission was to kill any non-Kalona in the lands even she was no fool. She knew it would take more than a lifetime to do so and because of that she needed help, or at least others that we on a similar mission. Alti knew of Baraccus only through whispers, but those whispers were enough to know the stallion would one day put his mark on the land. A mark that, in a way, would help her cause out greatly. And to that end this mare may very well be allowed to keep her life for another day, if only to continue to serve her Master's plans.

Cloven hoof caught with the mares rounded one. It was actually somewhat refreshing, even if this mare was not a Kalona, to find an opponent that knew how to counter most moves. It proved that she knew more beyond just the basics of fighting. Teeth sank into her neck and Alti was quick to realize she had gotten distracted. All too often lately she had gotten into fights against such weak blooded creatures that it took but a single blow, perhaps two, to kill and they rarely had the chance to fight back. Jabbing her wing claws into the mares side Alti began to use her weight to push her back. There was an old tree trunk not far away and she intended to slam the mare into it.

Teeth sank deeper into the Kalona's neck as she fought to keep her footing. Hooves dug into the ground but this mare had gained the advantage for the moment and was quite easily pushing her back. She could feel blood pouring out of the puncture holes that the mare wing claws had caused but refused to let that distract her. Turning her eyes to see what was happening She-Ra caught of glimpse of the tree. It would only be a moment before she would be slammed into it, but if she turned her body just a bit then the tree would allow her something to push off of and force the mare back suddenly, perhaps even topple her over completely. So she did what the mare would likely not expect and allowed herself to be pushed back towards it quickly.

Dislodging herself at the last moment from the Kalona's wing claws and spun her body so that it was her rump that hit the tree and not her side. Letting out a growl that was akin to what a Kalona or Skinwalker would sound like. She-Ra lifted her back hooves and pushed off from the tree, never letting go of the mares neck that was still lodged in her teeth. It was time to end this and kill this blasted mare. Then she could return to her Master triumphant, bringing this mares carcass as a prize.

Really it was truly a shame this mare wasn't a Kalona. She had a good fighting spirit to her. It was somewhat impressive that a skinwalker had not only kept the golden haired mare alive all this time but had molded her into this hate filled creature so well. In the end however the mare was of inferior blood and would need to be removed from the lands at some point. Of course Alti didn't have time to think on this at the moment as the mare proved once again that she was no push over by using the situation to her advantage. She was good, but Alti was better. As the mare launched herself forward off of the tree, Alti shifted her weight suddenly dropping her front end. It would be nearly impossible for the mare to maintain her grip on her neck and even more so to keep her footing.

Sure enough Alti felt the mares weight lurch forward at the sudden change and a chunk of her neck came out as the mares teeth slipped from their hold. Alti was quick to get back up and moved to stand over top of the mare as she landed on the ground. "I may just have a use for you and your Master." She raspy voice trickled out. Even those weaker bloods could have a temporary purpose to her plans, though Baraccus was certainly not a weak creature, and to a point neither was this mare. If they would not help, in their own way of course, then Alti would get rid of them too.

She had made a mistake and though she tried hard to keep her hooves underneath her it was something she could not recover from. Had the mare remained standing surely it would have worked out better, but it hadn't happened that way. The was going wrong, and She-Ra cursed to herself for not pushing for more fighting training. If by some miracle she survived this fight then she would not rest until she were strong and had a better knowledge of battle strategies. One this was for certain she could not afford to disappoint her Master or bring shame to his name and cause.

As the Kalona lowered herself down quickly She-Ra felt her own front end lurch forward. It was enough that she could not remain upright thanks to the forward motion she had gained from pushing off of the tree. The only satisfaction was from feeling her teeth rip out a chunk of the other mares neck. Hitting the ground hard She-Ra had no chance to get up before the mare was on top of her. The Kalona could had placed a killing blow on her in that very moment and yet the mare withheld her hooves and spoke of a use for She-Ra and her Master. She-Ra spat out of the chunk of flesh in disgust at the thought. "My Master serves no one but himself, and I only serve him!" She snarled. There would be no way in hell her Master would ever listen to another mare, especially one that seemed intent on giving orders.

Alti barked a laugh and slammed her hoof down right beside the mares head. Really she should have killed her right then and there, but that pure walker master of hers could be helpful in ridding the land of many Soquili and how would the message ever reach him if she killed the messenger. No, for now the mare would live, but later they could finish this fight and see who was the true victor of the day. "I do not expect your Master to serve me you stupid little mare. I only wish to see him spread death and fear in these lands." A purewalker was an excellent killer and could kill several Soquili in the blink of an eye if they truly wanted to. Kalona could do the same for the most part, but the pure walkers animal form could allow for better hiding to sneak up on said prey.

"Like it or not your Master and I have similar visions. I wish to see those of weak blood destroyed and those of power be the only left in the lands." It was a task that no single Soquili could take on and ever finish in their lifetime, not even a skilled Skinwalker or a blood thirsty Kalona. The more of them out there killing the faster the task could be completed. "Tell you Master to kill as many as he can, but I expect him to stay out of my way. I will not tolerate him interrupting my kills." Lowering her head Alti sneered at the mare. "And when the killing is done then you and I shall continue what we started here today. Perhaps by then you will be a better fighter and not be defeated so easily." With that she took a step back and with a mighty flap of her wings was airborne.

Ears pinned back in anger as the mare spoke once more. Clearly she didn't know as much about her Master as she first let on. Anyone in the area knew that he was here and there was fear in their hearts already. Also he did not need to be told to kill, he did it for pleasure and for food, sometimes he did so just because he could. She was not some messenger, she was a soldier, a tool in her Master's plans, but not a messenger. "Take the message to him yourself." She-Ra spit towards the Kalona. "Or are you afraid he will rip you to shreds before it can be delivered?" She highly doubted this mare was afraid of anything, death included, but it might just get a rise out of her. Throwing her head forward She-Ra tried to head butt the mare but she had been quick to pull back and escape to the air.

"Let us finish it now!" Nothing pissed She-Ra off more than one who wished to fight but kept delaying it. Rearing up she kicked out towards the winged mare but sadly Alti was too high in the air to connect with. "I have not been defeated yet, I still have breath left in me." She may be bloodied and bruised but she was far from defeated. Death was the true determining factor of who was the victor in a fight, if both sides were able to walk away then none were considered victorious.

"If you are not a messenger then you do not truly serve you Master." This stupid mare did not understand that followers of a leader were sometimes forced to do menial tasks in order to serve their Master, oh but she would learn. For surely if Baraccus heard the message from another source before the golden haired mare reached him he would punish her properly, with a quick death more than likely. That would be something to see certain, but Alti had no intention on trailing to mare to ensure the task was done. Either way Baraccus would help out whether he knew about it or not. Every Soquili brought down by the purewalker stallion was one less weak blood creature polluting this land.

Alti let out a laugh. "Don't fret little one, we will finish soon enough. Perhaps when you least expect it." It really was a shame to let the mare live, but even being of weak breeding this mare had been trained enough that she could kill a few before her usefulness was gone. With a flick of her spaded tail Alti took off, her muscled wings carrying her easily away from the mare and her Master's territory. Now she really needed to kill something to sate the bloodlust coursing through her veins and to make up for the missed kill here.

The mares words hardly registered as She-Ra was in a rage. If she possessed wings she would have taken to the air in that very moment and pulled the Kalona from the sky. It was a disadvantage for sure and this only proved that she would need a strategy in the future for not only dealing with this mare but any other winged Soquili she was told to dispose of. The element of surprise would be her biggest asset but also disabling the wings before they had a chance to use them would also do the trick. As the Kalona began to fly away She-Ra followed at a gallop. She did not wish to end the fight in a stalemate, this Kalona had abandoned the fight and that was sickening.

She followed the winged mare all the way to the edge of her Master's territory before the Kalona flew higher and she was no longer able to track her. Snorting in anger She-Ra stared at the spot where she had last seen the mare for a few moments before eventually turning and headed back. There was a message to be delivered to her Master, she may alter it a bit from what the mare had wished to say but She-Ra would deliver it nonetheless. Then and only then would she insist on more training, there was much work to be done and not much time to do it in.
