The sun shone brightly into the large mouth of the den that everyone slept in and the sounds of the morning were beginning to invade her senses. The morning had arrived like a jackhammer for Busara.
She hadn’t been able to sleep much the previous night after she had returned to her corner, and it showed in the slight bags under her eyes. She was so tired. Busara considered laying back down and returning to slumber, but she couldn’t bring herself to sleep when everyone else was getting up, so she resigned herself to the waking world.
Yawning, she took the moment to think about last night’s happenings. She had been glad that everyone else had been asleep when she had returned to the den, she definitely hadn’t been in the mood for questions.
With a mischievous grin plastered on her face, she finally stood up and walked out of her small den into the larger one. There she saw the lions of the pride milling about as they woke up and prepared for the day.

Stretching the lion woke up to sunlight pouring down his back. Aaah, it felt so good though. Still he knew better than to waste a good day for training by sleeping in the den. Training. The word still left a weird taste in his mouth. Once he had thought that he would find a home and never have to raise a paw against another lion again, but now...well this pride was unique to him.He would have to fight to stay with his precious companions. The thought made Rasmus sad, but at the same time thankful that he had managed to stumble on this pride with the girls. Each of them had been so close to giving up out there in theeh rogue lands and he had been so afraid of death. The lion shook his head. Well at least that worry was gone for them.
And speaking of them...Rasmus noticed movement from the corner of his gaze and with a sleepy smile the lion headed towards one of his old companions. "Busara." The name left his lips as a gentle sound, "How are you this morning?" His expression which was bright hid a hint of worry. Was it just him or did she seem a bit tired?

Yawning once more, she lazily gazed around the den with half-lidded eyes to see who else was up, until she heard a voice calling her. Looking up at the sound her her name, she noticed a familiar lion a few steps away from where she was standing.
A light smile spread across her face as she approached him. It was a good thing tha she had gotten up. It wouldn't do for those that she had come here with to thing she was becoming lazy upon arriving in a new home, even if that wasn't actually the case.
She knew that it was silly to base her actions on the thoughts of others, at least that was what her parents had thought her, but she still cared enough about there opinion of her. "Good morning Rasmas," she greeted him with sleep heavy in her voice, "I am doing well, if only a bit tired.”
That was the understatement of the day, but she pressed on and asked, “How are you this morning?”

Smiling Rasmus nodded happily at her reply. "That's good then. Though I worry-" Here like an over protective brother the lion peered closely at the female, "Have you been sleeping good?" His warm gaze flickered with faint worry. Even if she said that she was doing well that didn't mean that everything was fine. Was she hiding something? Should he press her further? But really they were just companions not relatives or mates...so hit wasn't like her business was always his. The lion sighed softly to himself before putting up a warm smile for her sake.
"Fine as can be, I suppose." He chuckled softly, "It's a beautiful morning and we're all alive so I guess I can't complain." His gaze was teasing though his stomach curled at the thought. How much longer could he stay here alive? Nah. This was not the time to worry about fighting other males for his place. Right now it was a clear morning with much promise. He would make sure to enjoy today.
"If you aren't doing anything would you want to wander around the pride a bit more?" The male looked a bit sheepish as he admitted softly to her, "Secretly I still am having problems getting around. I tend to get lost easily here."

Chuckling softly, she repeated him, “Yeah, can’t complain,” she said humorlessly. She had plenty to complain about, but none of it made any sense. She was now safer than she had ever been since her parents died, she ate regularly, and had plenty of company, so she was never lonely.
There were people here that she wanted to be around that cared about her general well being if the look of Rasmus’ face said anything. Why she felt so alienated here was beyond her. “You don’t have to worry about me. I like to watch the sky at night and tend to stay out late.
Everything is so different here, but the sky always looks the same at night.” It wasn’t a lie, the night sky was the thing most that reminded her of her pervious life, the one that she was used to, it just didn’t include the torrent of other emotions that she was feeling. Quickly shaking herself out of her thoughts, she smiled back at the male.
“I’d love to walk with you Rasmus.”

"Ah." Rasmus smiled, "Sounds fun. Maybe I'll join you one night. I tend to like the stars myself. They've always been a comfort to me even while we were traveling." The lion felt a bit more relief at hearing her answer and nodded. "How true. At least we can always rely on the sky being the same no matter what." He chuckled lightly, "But just because other things change doesn't always mean it's a bad thing right?" He tilted his head in faint curiousity.
"Great." His expression lightened at her acceptance of his offer and the male turned, "Now which way to go? Should we just randomly pick a path and see?" Grinning Rasmus started to walk away from the others. Though he knew it wasn't wise the lion tended to walk on paths that looked older, less taken. No telling where he would end up one of these days.

“I would like it if you joined me sometime. The night sky is always nice to look at, and there isn’t usually anyone else out.” As silly as it might have been, staring at the bright starts and moon in the darkness always took her mind away from whatever negative or unsure things she was feeling or thinking.
Searching for a direction to head, she spotted the pride’s water source,“ Oh, I like to walk along the stream that runs through the lands, it makes for a nice walk.” A thoughtful look came over Busara’s face as she turned over Rasmus’ words in her head.
“You are right. Things have only gotten better since we’ve come here. There’s nothing that I should really be worrying about,” she said with a sigh, but continued, “I just feel so out of place here sometimes. I want to be happy and careless here, but sometimes I just feel like I’m missing something. I hope you are settling here better than I am?”

Rasmus smiled, “Great. Sounds like a date then.” Gaze gleaming with some hidden humor the lion turned away to look around, “Alright. The stream it is then.” Stretching one last time the lion yawned before making to lead the way towards the water. The stream was nice. Maybe even a splash would wake him up as well. The lack of sleep plus training had been zapping his energy lately. It was a good morning for a break.
“I’m glad that I had a good point then.” Chuckling softly the lion looked back over at her. He was actually relieved to hear that. But then her next comment made his gaze shift, “I understand that feeling. I suppose that strangers take a while to become actual members sometimes? Especially if we all came from places with different ideas and customs there.” He looked ahead as he thought about her question to him. Was he? Honestly, not as well as he had hoped. The lion frowned before looking back over at Busara. “In a way yes. Who could complain about a place to sleep and food? But there are other things that I’m still struggling to get used to.” He didn’t say what it was out loud, but the thought of violence just made the lion wince.

Unplanned as it was, the silver lioness was happy to speak with someone about her apprehensive feelings, as silly as they might be. Busara walked slowly along the stream once they reached it. The smell of the cool clear water usually made her feel better when she felt at a lost.
Even though he seemed too have adjustments of his own to make, she was glad that Rasmas seemed to be doing generally better than she. Walkig next to him made her feel a little less isolated, caught up in her own world.
With a small smile she said, "Thank you for walking with me Rasmas. I'm glad got a chance to talk to you."
