Sato wandered from the Imp herd lands. Her heart was pounding, she really did love Zeeke but sometimes being around so many people all of the time made it difficult to concentrate and just.... think. She wasn't used to such attention, at home it was just her sister and father, and since her father was still stuck in his depression it was usually rather quite around the cave.
That was why she found herself wandering along the path that ran beside the forest, she knew better than to enter the forest... the wolves that hated the Imp herd would try and attack her in an effort to reach her new family, and that was something she wasn't willing to accept.

Drashi was wandering the path back towards the Miakoda herd, he was feeling better than he had in.... ages! Serenity seemed to have the effect on him, she seemed to sing to his very soul and calm him down. Slowly he could feel his heart healing, the scars of his lost love slowly hearing around her gentle presence.
Despite his good mood he found himself scanning the area carefully, he had heard bad things about the mountain and the forest that lay below it. Rumors of shadows and teeth, foals and mares left for dead with no sign of their mate in sight..... he didn't know if they were true but he had no intention of letting anyone follow his tracks back to Serenity or his herd. They both meant too much to him.
It was then that he saw a stunning mare in the path, she seemed to be walking with little intent... just walking for walking sakes. It was something he could understand well, and as Drashi watched he wondered if he should talk to her or not... it was possible that she needed someone to talk to, perhaps she was looking for something? Or more likely given her swagger, had given up looking for something... again a feeling he knew all too well.

Sato took a deep breath, it was so peaceful out here... the smell was divine, fresh and free. Natural. She could smell the lavender and hear the soft buzzing of bees as they stormed around the sweet smelling nector. She could see the swaying of dafodiles and other flowers at the edges of the well worn path.
Everything was so quite.... then her ear twitched. And for a moment she could have sworn she heard the soft patter of hooves, a single set.... but a set none the less. Her heart raced, was she being followed even on the path? Zeeke had warned her about their plans and still she had left the herd lands.... was she really so stupid?
She turned her head cautiously, doing her best to make the action look natural as she pretended to smell a flower in order to view behind her.
She nearly screamed when she saw someone was actually there... until she realised they had wings! Four of them. Zeeke had four wings, taking after his mother... and although she didn't recognise the figure she wondered if he was some member of the herd she simply hadn't met yet? But why was she being followed... did Zeeke not trust her?
A bright red blush covered her face.... did he see her a child that needed supervising? Her embarassment soon turned to anger! She had looked after herself long before Zeeke had come onto the scene! No longer trying to pretend she hadn't spotted the spy she stormed towards them. "What do you think you are doing? He sent you didn't he? What's up... doesn't he trust me?!" She tapped her foot on the ground to show her aggrevation.

Drashi was taken aback as the mare started storming towards him, the look on her face made him want to wince... he had seen it before on his mother's, Sengdroma, face when she was mad. And the little foal that had been saved by her and Maion cowered in expectation of the yelling that was to follow.
Yet as the strangers words sunk in he couldn't help but blink down at her in confusion. "He who?? I have no idea what you are talking about." It was true, but he could tell that whatever it was it meant a lot to the mare.

Sato growled in frustration before she began ranting again! "Don't you ... he who... me! You know who. Zeeke! He sent you to babysit me didn't he? What's wrong, am I not worthy of him following me himself? He could have just asked to come along!"
She shook her head sending her long mane dancing like daggers around her head. "I can't believe he did this! How dare he!" She wanted to scream, to storm back to the Imp herd and slam soon sence into via her hoof to his face.

Drashi blinked and blinked again. This mare was serious. He still stared at her slightly confused. "Em.... well.... I don't know who this Zeeke is? But he didn't ask me to follow you..." Then Drashi realised how that made it sound like he was following her! "Wait... I... didn't mean I was following you! I wasn't... I was just visiting my friend and now I am going home. Honest." He took a step back, slightly taken off guard by the mares brash attitude.

"YOU EXPECT ME TO BELIEVE THAT!" She bellowed, tears forming in her eyes... but not tears of sadness, tears of anger and hurt. "At least don't lie to me!"
She turned away from him then, her heart racing in her chest as the adrenaline started to slow down. Part of her was just too upset to think straight now... she trusted Zeeke completely, never commented when he went out, or how he had a tendancy to flirt with anything that was mated.... but that was just him, she knew that, and she wasn't trying to change him! So why would he.....??
The tears came faster now.

"Oh please don't cry!" Drashi said, as softly as he could. The one thing he hated more than anything else was when a mare cried. They shouldn't do that... no mare should ever be allowed to be feel so much hurt that it brought tears to their eyes. And since Drashi had a feeling this 'Zeeke' was her mate part of him wanted to beat some sence into him.
"I really wasn't here to follow or spy on you. I promise.... I was just going back to the Miakoda herd. My family. My home. I am sorry for the misunderstanding." Still she cried.
Not knowing what else to do he stepped closer again and wrapped his head beside hers pulling her closer. "There there... it's alright." He was more than useless in these situations.

Sato leaned into the comfort offered as her tears flowed more freely. She hadn't realised she had been so wound up.... but this incident only reenforced her beliefs.... she wasn't cut out to be constantly in the company of so many. She needed time for herself, time to think, time to just.... be!
Was that really so much to ask?
As the stranger mentioned the word 'Miakoda' she found herself frowning slightly, she had heard that name spoken among the Imp herd. They were allies or something. Taking a step back from the stallion she looked at him again, this time in a new light. It was still possible that Zeeke had sent him, but he seemed so genuine that she couldn't help but believe him.
After a while longer of more silence she nodded and finally spoke, "Sorry..... I guess you're right.... misunderstanding. I....." She frowned again, suddenly feeling the need to talk to someone but at the same time she didn't want to burden anyone. "Can I talk to you?"

Drashi stared in disbelief at the mare when she first accepted his comfort and then stepped back. Her words shocked him.... but he had to admit he prefered it when she was not shouting at him. "Em..... sure."
Yet even as he spoke his eyes wandered down the path ahead of them, he really did need to get home, he was suppose dto be on duty soon.... of course that didn't mean he had any intention of ignoring the mare and her pain. His father would never forgive him should he do such a thing. "Can we walk and talk?" He asked softly, returning his gaze to the mare and smiling softly down at her.
Drashi hoped that he didn't give her another reason to shout and cry.... he really didn't think he could handle seeing her in such a state. It had been bad enough having to deal with his own tears when Arianna had left him.

Sato nodded, grateful that he would listen to her and still feeling the need to walk, to feel a small slice of freedom. She planned to return to Zeeke and Imp herd.... but not yet.
"Thank you." She said, realising she hadn't introduced herself... and if he truely had been speaking the truth then it was likely he didn't know anything about her at all. In a way that was a good thing. "My name is Sato by the way." She smiled softly, but it didn't quite reach her eyes.
Before she would talk to him she wanted to know his name, then it wouldn't feel quite like she was simply pouring her heart out to a complete stranger. "May I ask your name?"

Drashi started to walk with her down the path, his heart still soaring from his encounter with Serenity despite the drama that had occured with this mare. No hard feelings.
"My name is Drashi," He said, his voice quitely. "Now," he started, feeling that the sooner she talked the sooner he could help her... or perhaps just talking would help her? Either way they had to start this conversation somewhere. "....tell me what's wrong Sato."

"Drashi.... that's a nice name." Part of her was aware she was delaying the inevitable, that she didn't really know what to say or how to start.... just that she needed to share it with someone.
With a sigh she finally gave in and just poured her heart out. "I recently got mated to a stallion called Zeeke. He is a member of the Imp herd, son of the alpha pair or something." She didn't really know much about the herd structures since she had never been part of one before. Her family had always just been three individuals standing together. "....well.... I'm not used to it.... this herd life I mean..... it's so strange. I feel.... crowded." She admited softly.

As her words sunk in he couldn't help but see the similarities to his own experiences... Arianna had not liked the idea of a herd, she had wanted to remain a free spirit.... and he had been unable to leave his family to join her. Left behind he still felt the hole in his heart.
"I see...." He said, wondering what he could say to sooth her. "Well.... I suppose it all comes down to this Zeeke. How much do you care for him? How much do you want to be with him? Could you change everything for that?" He wasn't expecting her to answer, Drashi was simply offering her something to think about.
He only hoped he wasn't making things worst. Had Arianna gone to talk to someone? Had she been told it was best to follow her heart.... had that been the truth as to why she left? Pain seared his thoughts.
