Fluorite was collecting lieutenants like she'd used to collect stuffed animals when she was younger.

That made sense - it was her job, really - even if it sometimes had him forced into the role of an handy-dandy example. This is a corrupted senshi. This is how they feel like, how they look like. Do not kick them, they do not appreciate it.

But this one would have to be different. Matthew was not stupid enough to henshin without others around, even if it would be relatively easy to bandage his chest even after powering up. That would have been like strutting through town wearing an 'im an injured target, come punt me !' sign.

So nope. Through in an attempt to try to make him feel a little less useless, the show and tell was continuing a little differently. Matthew was waiting at the tiny café near his apartment - it was all but deserted at this hour - for one Alexandre to show up. Ashley's newest protege, apparently.

Just the walk here hadn't done him much good, and now he was trying, in vain, to get his chest to stop aching while waiting for the boy to show up.

Flourite had arranged the meeting, and then informed him of the changes and the reason for it. It wasn't something which upset or bothered the teen. It meant he showed up at a cafe and as a civilian, which he had no issue with at all.

In fact, when he'd heard from Flourite about the injuries sustained by her brother he'd decided to work on something in the kitchen. Herbs and plants were gathered as well as other needed items. He had several recipes, from books and online, for pain salve's.

Working on one, rather than several, which he knew worked he jarred it and dropped it into the light blue suede,a and white leather, tote bag he had and off he went to the meeting. Wallet in a back pocket, and the tote with him, he hurried himself to the cafe.

His parents knew he was going out for coffee, he'd made up some excuse for needing it in order to stay up and work on something. Knowing he'd be safe they let him go, just wanting him to let them know when he came home.

A short drive, not more then fifteen minutes due to the lack of traffic, and the blond was walking into the cafe. Purple hair, fit the description. "Matthew?" He questioned, approaching slowly.

Matthew was hard to miss, especially in a nearly-empty café. Purple haired, and looking like his face had been be scatched along sandpaper - each of the little prinprinks on his right cheek a splinter of wood that had to be taken out, through the smaller ones were already showing signs of healing over. One or two of the bigger ones looked like they might scar.

Matthew was hoping they wouldn't. At least those he could hide with his hair.

Matthew looked up upon hearing his name. "Alexandre, right ?" he eyed the seat next to his. He was, convinently, seated far away from the rest of the clients.

It helped to be a regular. "Sorry about the changes in locations." The boy would know why, especially if he was his sister's newest lieutenant.

Taking the seat next to the other he nodded his head. "Indeed, and it wasn't a problem. I heard of what happened." As he said this a hand plunged into his tote bag.

"I hope you don't consider it forward of me but I thought to help in some small way." From the tote a small jar, with some form of substance in it. "I made a pain salve, something to hopefully help you." An honest and sincere gesture. "I know my way around such things, to a point." He was no pro with plants but he had enough skills to make sure simple things.

"You don't look too bad, but I heard of the major injury. I can't say I know what it feels like. But I hope this'll help." If he'd trust him and use it. The jar was set on the table, between them, while his tote was hung off the back of his chair.

"It's good to meet another person...." He didn't care to say the 'on the same side' just in case someone was being nosy and could hear them. "Your sister has been helping me a lot, I've appreciated it greatly."

Matthew accepted the small jar with a curious expression. Well... that might be handy. It wasn't like he could pop painkillers like candy, as badly as he wanted to do so.

"That will come in handy, thanks." He said, managing a smile, through it turned to a strained expression as he shifted to put it in his own bag.

"You don't expect something this small to hurt this much. I have to keep bandages on, else I just want to die." He shook his head. "I am... out of commission until it heals, mostly. Unless I have others with me. There's no way I can do the job, and I am very, very easily spotted. It would be like prancing around with a punt me sign."

Maybe he'd try to power up just to show him the aura. Later.

"That doesn't surprise me. Ashley would adopt the whole damn world if he could." He chuckled, his expression fond. The waitress came, then, and Matthew ordered himself some green tea.

"It's not a problem. I had everyone on hand." Which was more than true. He had a greenhouse where he could grow the needed items for basic herbal salves and teas, he should get sine tea to Lily and her brother actually. But what would they want? Maybe he'd put something small together as a surprise.

"No, though I have heard ribs can hurt a lot and make everything painful." He'd never had the misfortune of having broken ribs, or a really nasty rib injury. "If you need help, while your injured, I don't mind lending you some help." The other was part of the same team and as much he normally wouldn't offer to help, not in this way, he would here.

"Your sister is simply helpful, and nice, both things I appreciate." Looking up at the waitress he flashed a smile, ordering an espresso with pomegranate syrup if they had it. Maybe it wasn't the most normal of order, vanilla or chocolate, peppermint. All were normal things to get in an espresso, not what he asked for. Watching her leave, with orders to fill, he turned his eyes back onto the other.

Espresso with pomagrenate, uh. He might have to try that one day, even through he wasn't really a fan of coffee. The mix of flavors seemed... curious.

But pomagrenate was awesome. Maybe it redeemed the espresso ?

"I've broken my leg when I was a kid. It sucked, but it didn't suck that much." Probably because a broken leg could be supported with a cast, but a broken rib was ******** and pretty much had to mend on it's own.

"It should be fine." He said, to the offer of help. He had a good idea what that meant, and Fluorite was already on the case. "Thanks, through."

It was good, it was why he almost always ordered that mix. As odd as it was, he liked his Espresso but it had to have some flavor syrup to it. Normally it was pomegranate, sometimes cherry and other times both.

"I've yet to break a bone, though somehow I have the distinct feeling that will be changed. As do many things when one joins in a war." He spoke honestly. He honestly had a small fear of breaking a bone, how much it would hurt, and the inability to do certain things. Or pain caused by doing certain things.

"Your sure? I don't mind aiding you while your injured." Honestly he didn't think he'd mind getting close to other members of the Negaverse, unlike his opinion on getting close to other people. He wasn't so big on that.

"She's taking care of gathering energy for me." He said with a nod. "And once I get a little better I will probably be able to handle it myself. Beside... if she heard wind that you were cutting into your quota for me, she'd probably kick my a**." He said, an amused chuckle escaping his lips. That was clearly a little over-exaggerated.

"She really likes you, you know." He continued. "Some of the newbies really piss her off, but she only had good things to say about you."

"Perhaps I can spend more time out in the evenings then. I can gather enough for two people, your sister gave good tips on where and how to go about business." He spoke honestly, it was good advice and helped a lot. For someone lacking in height it was not a good idea, when you didn't know how to fight, to try to take down someone twice your height, or better, and who weighed far more than you; unless of course they were well and truly drunk.

"I'm glad, I don't make a good impression upon many." Saying this as he glanced about casually. "And my offer of help extends to civilian things. If you have anything you need to do but are unable to, or find difficult. It was not simply an offer to aid you in late night work." It wouldn't do for Matthew, he'd been told his name by Flourite over the phone, to further his injuries or in some way aggravate them. "I have something of an open schedule." He didn't work, and it being summer vacation he wasn't in school right now.

He hadn't really thought about civilian things. He didn't even know many agents on a civilian basis, so it hadn't even entered hids mind. "Then, hm... Give me your phone number and I'll call if I need it ?"

Thankfully he didn't live on his own, or that would be complicated indeed. Sebastian had been, thankfully, pretty understanding of his injury and was cutting him some slack on the take care of apartment part of things for now.

The waitress arrived with their drinks then, and Matthew thanked her, letting his tea steep a little, cupping the porcelain cup with both hands as he waited for her to get out of earshot before continuing. "Did you have any questions, about... me, or what I am ? Ashley said you might."

It wasn't something he'd think of himself, if only because he didn't live on his own, if he were the one injured. Not even thinking his parents would be out at times, leaving him unable to do certain things. But looking from the outside in he saw the need. His cell phone, oddly enough wasn't in the tote bag which would have been smart. But it was in a back pocket. Lifting himself from his seat, just enough, he withdrew his phone. Sleek and black, with silver around the screen, he settled it on the table. "Of course, don't hesitate if you need something. I'll be over as soon as I can to help."

Having a car, and his only duties this summer were to his plants and energy collection; if he wanted to cut art and shopping out, he had the time to help someone. He had the distinct feeling this new part of his life would eat away into the time spent painting. Somehow though it didn't bother him as much as it would have if the thing eating his time up were anything else. This was something more important.

Nodding his head in thanks, for his drink, he took the time to blow gently before sipping. There was no point in rushing to gulp it down and burning his tongue, he wouldn't be able to taste it properly. "Let me see if I can get a pen, and something to write my number on, and I have one or two questions. Nothing too personal, just the curiosity of someone new to this world and seeking to understand it as fully as possible." That said he did get up slowly. Going to the counter to ask for a pen and if he could just get a slip of paper. It seemed the waitress was more than happy to supply him with both. Thanking her, with a smile in place, he headed back to the table. Seating himself down he had to look up his phone number, he honestly couldn't remember it as he didn't go calling his own cell phone. He wasn't one of those who misplaced his phone and had to call it in order to find it.

He nodded in answer, then took his spoon to stirr his tea - the clear water was already starting to tint a bit from the bag of leaves that was seeping in it.

It was relaxing, meeting someone from the negaverse like this. He'd expected to be more nervous, but there was no aura to catch the attention of nearby senshi. Right now, to the eyes of the world, they were only two people sitting at a cafe table - if a little odd because of the age difference the two had, but nothing that out of ordinary.

Matthew knew his phone number by heart - having a good memory of numbers came with being a programmer, really. "Sure." He was used to answering questions by now. How, why. He was used to the suspicions some had toward him, sad as it was.

It didn't bother him as much as it used to.
PostPosted: Fri Jul 29, 2011 3:02 pm

Looking up his own phone number he wrote it down. His writing had a slant to it, the top of his x's and bottom of his l's curled. The top of his l's curled also. It was sort of fancy but nothing over the top. The curls happened with a few other letters as well, top's of r's and bottoms of something else and a loop to his p's. But none of that was noticed as he wrote his name at the top of the paper slip, his last name as well. Somehow with the curls to his letters it didn't look as out of place as one might think it would, it seemed to work well likely due to the slant to his writing.

Sliding it over to the other, with a small smile. "Your duty, is it the same as ours? I mean energy gathering? I just wonder if it changes due to the difference in what we are. Also, I want to know whatever I can about the senshi and this war. I figure the more people I ask the more information on it I can gather. I'd like to know as much as I can on hat I've joined, not that I'd consider pulling out for any reason. But it'll help in the long run."

Sipping his espresso, slowly, the cup fit nicely in his hands and heated them; not that he was cold. It was a warm evening out, this would be nicer if it were fall or winter. When he got home he'd be taking out a pine or autumn scented candle, he missed the warm and inviting smells associated with both seasons.

Matthew took both the sheet with the information as well as the pad of paper, writing both his name and his own cellphone number down. His handwritting was... messy, but readable, at least.

He handed the whole back and slid the paper with Alexandre's information in his own messenger bag, black with yellow designs on it. Gamers would recognize a invincibility star from Mario as the most prominent design on it.

"I can do that." He said with a nod. "And I personally do, though technically im not required to gather energy. My job, I guess, would be mainly to fight senshi. Fight fire with fire, so to say."

He took a sip of his cup, but them pulled it back down, deciding the let the tea seep a little longer. "Senshi use magic, as you might have noticed if you've met one. Some will go hand to hand, and some will sorely use their magic." The latter he'd always thought a mistake, but that might be just him and his experience with his own power talking. "Some can control elements, some can mess with your head... Some have more physical, tangible magics. Mine, for exemple, is to make myself or others on our side invisible to both senshi and pages. As such, im rather physical for a senshi."

He paused, then, combing his head for tangible examples to give to the younger boy. "Hel is the senshi of ashes, one on our side as well. She can send a cloud of ashes up the air. Alkaid is the senshi of guidance, but I've never seen her fight..." He'd never seen Euclase or Carnelian fight, either...

"I've fought a senshi that used feather to blind me. One that used pale white threads to catch me in a web. I think, in essence, you need to be ready for almost anything. Pages are rather straightforward - they use their weapons." And their starseeds felt so good in your hand. Matthew bit back his sigh.
