-Catacombs-

Welcome to the Catacombs!

User Image

U-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------U

First thing, yes the walls are made of bones and skulls. Who those skulls and bones belong to aren't that important, but this is a burial ground. It would be to your favor if you were respectful and kind to this place. Who knows if there are any lingering spirits and if they are benevolent or something. The Catacombs is in a cave and is located underground. There are three levels of it and a fourth one in the making. It always smells like rotting flesh and decay down there. Whenever someone dies, their flesh is devoured by flesh-eating insects and their bones placed here to fill in the walls.

U-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------U

Warnings:

1. Don't touch the walls. Not all that stable
2. No loud noises. Place may collapse in
3. No being rude to the bones. Some still have spirits attached to them
4. Be careful
5. Be cautious

“There’s blood! There’s blood!”

"Found it~" Raidh said in a cool, whisper when he found directions to the graveyard where bodies were stored or whatever the sign he had passed said. It was so faded that he couldn't even see the forms of the letters. If they were letters anyways. He shrugged as he continued walking. Honestly, he had to walk all the way here from various places after he walked in the gate that it was insane. Hell needed a transportation system, like seriously.

Anyways, he was now where he wanted to be and he could feel the life, or death, around him, brushing past his skin and around his head. Spirits of the dead in Hell? This was way more than he was hoping for and it made his skin tingle in a anticipation. That didn't last long when he came to what looked like a cave. Groaning, he noticed that the cemetery he was hoping far was a pit catacomb. It was full of bones and skulls not dead bodies. Still he went in, grumbling under his breathe. At least he was alone.

Angered now, he raised his hands and five skulls pulled themselves free of the wall. There were more skulls, but he didn't want the thing to collapse on him. The skulls began chattering, clinking their teeth together as they came alive again. Floating near his head, Raidh ignored them and continued walking the dusk and damp cave, his black smoke pillowing before him. It was dark and he hadn't noticed since his eyes were used to the dark, but he wanted some light. So three of the skulls erupted in flames. Flames that were more maroon and black, but still lit the place up. "That's better~"

The silent male immediately knew where he wanted to go once the Gates of Hell had closed behind him. Though the place was full of tortured souls of the Damned, he seemed quite content with where he was. However, he had plenty of business to take care of here, and knew exactly where he needed go. Though it would seem impossible that he had been here before, it was true in a physical sense. Immediately the leather-clad male made his way towards the familiar catacombs, the first on his agenda.

Having made his way slowly past all of the skulls and various bones, and even stopped to look over them all and watch as some of the ones who still had attached spirits seemed to want to play games of mischief, he made his way deeper and deeper into the cave still. However, the raven-haired male traveled in complete darkness, and moved as though it weren't at all a problem. His eye was opened wide, however, and his pupil was incredibly dilated, nearly taking over all of his iris.

Finally, far into the catacombs, he paused and turned. He stared at one particular skull and reached out from under his cloak, smoothing his fingertips across the edges of the skull's eye sockets before sliding them down to trace along the teeth. His touch was tender, remembering that the place wasn't all that stable, especially since if it caved in, he'd be in a horrible situation. But it was then that he paused once more.

Looking towards the way he came, the male could hear something. More like someone, because he could hear their steps. His fingertips remained upon the skull as he waited, wondering who else was exploring the Catacombs.

Ai had made her way from the gates all the way to the catacombs. It was the first thing she wanted to see when she had gotten back. Her hands were tempted to slide along the wall of bones and dirt. Ai was big on knowing what everything felt like and looked like so if anyone asked she could explain. Up ahead she could hear footsteps moving against the dirt flooring. She slowed down so she wouldn't have to see any of them.

“There’s blood! There’s blood!”

The skulls were already starting to annoy Raidh. They were nothing but bones and chattering away, clanking their teeth together as they floated about his head still. Rolling his blackened eyes, Raidh swatted one away that came far too close to his ear. "You're like bees....Give me flesh and whole bodies any day." He muttered under his breath.

Going further into the catacombs, he didn't see much besides skulls and bone fragments. What was this place suppose to be for?, he wondered since he wasn't even sure. All he had paid attention to was the prospect that he could play around in a cemetery with his powers. And that didn't happen. All he got was skulls. A bunch of bones. Great.

Another skull proceeded to fly into his face and he snatched it, crushing it between his fingers. The skull fragments bit into his palm but didn't draw blood, and he simply brushed his hand off. As he continued to move further into the catacombs, he got the feeling that he wasn’t alone anymore. The skulls had stopped chattering about and were more focused, looking ahead and one was facing back. So, there are two others at least… he though and wasn’t sure how he felt about that. His steps never faltered or slowed though as he smirked, hiss cigarette nearly falling out his mouth.

It didn’t take him long to meet up with the other that must have been in the pit way before him. So much for his assumption that he had been alone. The lit skulls illuminated the other male, touching a skull off the wall. A slow look up and down him, Raidh stopped a few feet before him, smiling friendly. “Hallo there. Fancy meeting you here.” His Scottish accent came out on the first word but appeared to have vanished afterwards, though his smile remained and he tilted his head a little at the other, wondering who the heck he was.

There was talking ahead and Ai began to settle back just to listen. She wanted to pass by but she didn't know what the others were like. She waited a few minutes but after a floating skull came flying at her with its teeth chomping she decided to move. Her small pale hands managed to crush it completly. Soon she was heading around the corner to a man with black hair and another man with red hair.

The cloaked male could sense that there was someone else, but they were still rather far away. Now, he had the situation in front of him that the person he head heard was right there, in front of him. Even talking to him. However, his fingertips still rested upon the forehead of the particular skull. Even as he spoken to, the male just stared up at him with his one eye, the other having what looked like a choppy piece of leather over it. But not just an eye cover, the fact was that the cover was sewn into his skin, directly over his eye. But there the smaller male was, staring up at the newcomer in front of him in complete silence.

It was apparent that he was looking over the male, his eye showing the light movements of taking in the other, as it was rather widened in general. More and more moments passed of him just staring, it now rather apparent that he wasn't going to answer back. At least not right away. And when the other male tilted his head, he tilted his head in the opposite direction, both in a mimicking manner, but also because he himself was curious about this new person. He had never seen anyone or anything like him before, but then again, what could he expect? He was in Hell now. However, his body and mind seemed to sense something that made him almost seem to know what the other male was.

More awkward staring and silence passed before finally, the raven-haired male blinked, and removed his fingers from the skull. Suddenly, a voice slipped into the other male's head, and while it was a little shaky. "...Is it...? Look where we are..." The voice said, meaning Hell. "But... I guess it is odd... That someone would come here out of all places... But... I guess I can understand why you'd come here..." His voice said out of nowhere, still tilting his head.

"...Did you come here because you... Hunger?"

“There’s blood! There’s blood!”

Raidh's eyes slightly narrowed when the other mimicked the way he had moved his head, but he didn't say anything about it, continuing to smile. Besides, the weird guy before him wasn't the only other person in the pit with him as it seemed. One of his skulls had scampered away and was now gone, broadcasting that someone else was there and coming out to meet them. Wonderful.

Placing his hands in his pockets and leaning forward lightly, Raidh tilted his form, so he could see behind him and the other in front. He didn't like his current position but would act nonchalant about it. Though, that lasted only for seconds as a voice intruded in his own head.

Raidh's eyes widened a bit and he gave a mock shiver. "That's kind of creepy, throwing your voice in my head. Can't talk can you, not with that thing over your mouth." He said as he tried to come to terms with the others voice in his mind, but he didn't like it. Didn't like the way the other knew why he had come down here. "So...you're a mind reader? But, I came here to play and not to eat. I see no food here, only bones to pick my teeth with." He straightened and looked behind him at the new person, a female.

"Hallo, to you too. I don't much appreciate you crushing off my candle holders like that." He smiled still, though it was a little colder this time. After he finished talking though, a skull shook free from the walls, making dust and dirt scatter to the ground. It flew about like the others then burst into flames once again, flowing around the three in a lazy, but calculated manner.

The smaller male had also realized that the newcomer in the cave was a female, and subconsciously moved so that he was hidden by the other male, not minding having to deal with the scent of his strange cigarette if it meant he could avoid having to speak with the female. Not that he hated them or anything, but they made him feel uneasy. He had seen inside of their minds, and it wasn't like anything he had seen before. It made him glad he was born a male himself. He peered out from behind the well-dressed man, looking over the woman with his one eye slowly, ever-staring just as he did before.

"...I cannot speak physically... No." His voice said, replying to the other many long moments later. "...Even with what covers my mouth... I cannot speak..." He said in a soft tone inside the other's head. "And... Yes, I can read minds... But I didn't read yours. I just..." A long, almost strangely long pause happened as he eyed the skull floating about, before moving to use the redhead as his door, of sorts. "...I know what you are. I don't know how, but I do. You're... Some kind of Corpse-Eater. A... A Demon... Or Ghoul." He said slowly, almost struggling as though searching his own memory to say it.

Another moment passed. "But, we're not far enough in for Fresh Bodies." The raven-haired male said suddenly inside the other's head. "Newly-Dead bodies are further in... Placed inside a cavern where they are allowed to be stripped of their flesh... By Insects." His voice explained and he closed his eye for a moment, seeming to listen. "They have not allowed the Insects to be released for the last few days... Yet." He explained, as though giving information to the man so he could eat if he wished to, even if he said he was here to play for some reason.

Ai eyed both the boys to make sure she got every single feature just in case there was ever someone asking for them. The scars on one of the men's neck was interesting and her hands shook with the urge to touch to feel ever detail. It was the same for the man who began to hide most of his body around the red headed man. She wanted to touch the patch and let her fingers wander past it to feel if there was truly and injury.

"I don't appreciate your candle holders coming at my face." She said in a soft low voice. Her eyes dimmed as she began to show no emotion anymore. As she walked toward them the pendant on her necklace waved back and forth. At one point something swam through it with a grand eye looking through. She stopped to look at both men. Her eyes directed to the man with the eye patch. Ai wanted to know why he hid behind the man, but she never asked. "If these walls collapse, i will have your head," she said to the red head man as the other skull came shooting out of the wall.

“There’s blood! There’s blood!”

The ghoul had been paying attention to the woman as she twisted his words, mixing them with hers and shot them back at him. The corner of his mouth twitched at it, but he gave no other sign that she had annoyed him. His smile widened when she threatened him after he took the other skull.

"This old place...it won't fall from a few missing skulls. Besides, if you take mine, you can always replace them, no?" He laughed a bit, shifting since he was well aware of the fact that the other demon had taken shelter behind him. Why? He didn't know and only became more alert to his current position.

Even though he was paying close attention to the two, he was also thinking about what The non-speaking male behind him had told him, well implanted in his mind. There was a reason he couldn't talk and there were bodies beyond, ripe for his picking. That was enough incentive to make his stomach growl, though it did not.

"Well, nice to meet you, lady. I'll make sure to keep my skulls to myself from now on. Alas, I must scurry to get my food before some insects eat beat me to it. Join if you wish. I like company over for dinner." He mockingly gave her a bow and turned, pushing the other male in front of him. The skulls looked back on the woman, chattering away in a mocking manner as well as another skull broke from the wall when they vanished from sight, lighting and following the others. . It wasn't that he had a fault with her, but the other seemed to have one. "I'm taking you so you can show me this place you told me of....the name is Raidh, by the way. And yes, I am a ghoul, though I have been called a demon by some."

He said this after a while, getting further into the pit and not sure where to go and was making idle chat as they walked.

Ai didn't mind the two boys leaving, but she was still curious about two things. Why the man hid away when she came in and what the feel of the scars and eye patch was like. Her hands itched at the thought of it. If Ai was crazy then she would have followed them and made sure she got a good feel and description of each and every corner of the eye patch and every bump in the scar. Instead she headed on the way she was heading toward.

The catacombs begin to loose her interest. Soon she remembered the skulls coming out of the wall and the red head man's words. This old place...it won't fall from a few missing skulls Ai looked over at the walls. "I'm not taking anything out..." Her small pale hands reached for the wall and soon her hands felt over the texture of the dirt. "Not enough..." Her fingers dug through the wall just a bit and she could feel a skull at two fingers. Soon her hands were sliding along the wall as she walked to see if she could feel anything different from what she felt now.

The smaller male felt his stomach churn. He knew that woman was looking at the patch sewn over his eye. He could feel her eyes looking towards it, and towards him. It caused him to move further behind the redhead, and he hid so well at this point that the only reason someone would be able to see him was the ends of the leather coat that draped over his shoulders. And then she warned he man he was talking to. Was there really any reason to be aggressive over such a simple thing?

He drowned out the small conversation happening between them before suddenly he was snapped out it, as he felt himself suddenly pushed and forced to walk. It caused his eye to snap open wide, blinking with it as he went along with the push, tensing a bit as he had never really been put into this sort of situation before. Why was he being pushed by this other male further into the Catacombs where he was not too long ago? But his question was answered a few moments later.

"Oh." Was all the smaller male said, walking along now more on his own, now apparently the tour-guide to the buffet for the Ghoul. He was rather relieved, though. While he felt a little bad for being rude towards the female, he was glad to have some space. His eye flicked to glance back as he was introduced. "I am called Vox. It's a pleasure to meet you, Mister Raidh." He replied politely into Raidh's mind, but that was it for a long while as he walked them deeper and deeper into the bone and skull-encrusted Catacombs.

"And a Demon is a fitting term. I'm sure you have a different name in every culture and place..." He said, half-lidding his eye as he continued to walk, pausing at a four-way fork and turned off to the path to the far right, walking again. As he lead them further, the fetid stench of rotting flesh suddenly became apparent.

The faint sound of a deep pitched clink could be heard as Cherelle kicked at a stone. Hands in the pockets of her jacket, she looked up at the cave that was the entrance to the catacombs. "Well." she mumbled, "Haven't been here in a while." her boredom exceeded the amount that she could take, and at this point she was just exploring the world she's called home for many years. Maybe there had been some changes since she was gone, though she had only been gone for a few days. Yeah, she highly doubted any changes.

Still, she walked into the catacombs, the rancid smell of death not bothering her in the slightest. She was all too used to it. In the past, she never really came here often, never really was interest. She could've gone to the library, checked out a few new books, but this was a place she never really took the time to go through. So, under the influence of her boredom, she decided to roam the corridors. Perhaps the thing that intrigued her the most, was the walls made out of bones and skulls of the dead.

It was dead quiet as she walked, pun unintended, and the only thing she could seem to hear was her own foot steps. Her red eyes scanned the dark as she wondered if anyone else was inside the catacombs. The usual stoic expression upon her face, she continued roaming the catacombs.

“There’s blood! There’s blood!”

Glad to be away from the woman, Raidh sighed heavily. He had the oddest feeling that she had wanted to touch him or something and that wasn't something that he was into. It weighed on his mind for all of two seconds before he pushed it away, focusing on the male he was pushing along in the damn pit.

It didn't seem to him that they were going anywhere since it all looked alike. Bones here. Bones there. Bones ******** everywhere. Where were the dead bodies that he was told about? The smell of rooting flesh and the stench of death of any means? Where were the piles of bodies, stacked upon one another, fresh for the picking? By now, there should already be flies and maggots living in the corpse since it was how bodies decayed: bacteria. Decomposers got to the bodies but he didn't mind that at all. Easier eating.

His mind had trailed off, but he still had heard what the other male had said. Vox was his name. Sounded interesting and he wondered at what it meant. The 'Mister' part added to his name only made his eye twitch in some type of emotion. Not even he was sure what that was.

"You think I'm a Demon? Do I seem...demonic to you? How about yourself? What type of 'demon' are you?" His tone was a bit flat as if he was only asking out of courtesy than any real interest, which was partly true since he was now enthralled in the scent that he had been waiting for. It practically made him shudder in pleasure, removing his hand form Vox's back to walk beside him, attention strictly on the path before them. His skulls swam about them, happily and chattering away in some unknown language or movement. One bumped into his shoulder, quickly moving away but Raidh hadn't done or said a thing. Another got braver and perched a seat on his shoulder and was promptly ignored.
