Though her wings were small Amphitrite could fly quite a way from shore, she could in fact fly for at least twenty four hours before she needed to settle some where and rest that meant she could go twelve full hours from the beach before she had to hang a you-ee and head back to the beach before heading out again.
Poseidon had asked her to find the cubs. The sea was still choppy and if any of the cubs were out there they were probably wet and cold and desperate for direction. Unlike birds, lions had no sense of direction. It made her laugh some times how bewildered they could become. This was not a time for comedy though. With her deep green wings out stretched she hovered and searched her eyes sharp, though not as sharp as a hawks, she could certainly spot a floating lion, or a stranded one, or any other sort of lion. She hoped she wouldn't find the other sort. She would baulk if she found a floating lion..
Throwing away the idea that she may not find Poseidons cubs, alive, she tilted her wings heading for one of the many outcrops beyond the sight of the beach. If anyone had ended up there she could help them get their bearings and lead them home. Just so long as they were alive, she hoped they were all alive.

It felt strange to have the sun shining full in his eyes, yet to feel so soggy and wet, as if a storm had passed over. Groggily Beyler blinked against the sunlight, automatically attempting to sit up and right himself. Immediately his body came awake with a symphony of aches, pains, scrapes, bruises, and one spot on his head radiating pain and nausea. He groaned and laid his head back down again, letting his body remain draped carelessly between two outcroppings on this tiny rocky isle.
Not that he knew where he was just yet. All he knew was that he hurt, and he didn't want to move, since moving made it all much much worse. So instead he laid there, eyes shut from the sun, though the light poured through his lids regardless. He didn't even want to turn his head or move a paw to shield his face. It all just hurt too much. It was much nicer to just lay her, nice and still, and hope it all went away.

The sun battered her wings as she soared through the clear blue skies. Odd she thought how the world righted itself after a catastrophe. Clearing her thoughts she swooped down towards the outcropping she was looking for, her gaze falling on the small damp rocks that peeked from the sea like large barnacles.
her heat leapt in to her throat as her gaze fell upon the prone form of Beyler. "Beyler, Beybey!" She sang landing squarely on his head with a fluttery thud, taking the place she always took on Poseidons head. "You better not be dead mister, I promised your dad I would find you." She flutters her small wings and peers down through the young male lions raggedy mane. "I'm serious." She clicks her beak and moves his mane around using her beak to shape the mane around his face, clearing his eyes and hoping for the best.

He grunted with the impact of the bird upon his head. As light as she was, her weight still was enough to send his head to pounding like the sea in a cave. As she groomed his forelock back, he groaned and moved feebly. "Stop...," he mumbled, "...hurts." He managed to finally smack his lips a little, his dry tongue lolling drunkenly from his mouth. But as his body began to stir, so did his mind. Why was Amphi on his head? And why did it hurt so much to have her there?
He groaned again and moved his paws with more purpose, struggling to right himself. He was laying in such an odd position, and the rock under him was not at all suited for laying on. He squinted his eyes but only saw one bright blur. Dizzy from the odd angle he was laying at, plus the dull roar in his head, he finally managed to somewhat return to something akin to being right-side up. "'Mphi?" he mumbled, having lost track of her in his gyrations.

The little bird clicked her beak and her eyes smiled as she leapt from his head fluttering above him as he made himself more vertical. Swooping down she landed on one of his fore paws and tilted her small head curiously. "You're on that rocky outcrop Beybey, do you remember what happend last night?"
She clicks her beak looking up at the young lion curiously, hopefully, he seemed disorientated but alive, which was a blessing to say the least. She wondered if she could get him off this outcrop, or if she would have to go and fetch Poseidon to carry the young male off. "Can you stand? Hows your head?"

Rocky outcropping?! He squinted his eyes more and peered about himself woozily. Yup, there was rock... and below him, mere inches from his paws, the rock dropped away towards... water? Wait, rocky outcropping where?! He sat up straighter sharply, making his head scream, but he was more interested in verifying his location at the moment than nursing his head.
Sure enough, there was nothing but water as far as the eye could see. His pupils widened painfully as the memory of last night came back in a rush. The water, the roaring, the confusion... and the pain. With a frown he gingerly reached a paw (the one his father's bird was not sitting on) to touch a very tender lump just off-center of the top of his head, nearer his left ear. He hissed and then growled softly as he touched it, immediately pulling his paw away. Well. This was not good.
But this in turn triggered the rest of his brain to wake up and function properly, and his personality surged to the fore. With a sharp intake of breath, he leaned down towards Amphirite, whiskers spread aggressively in worry. "Are my sisters alright?" As always, they were his first concern, followed by his parents, then everyone else. "And Dad? Mom? What happened?" For though he recalled what had occurred, he was clueless about what it was and what it had done to anyone else. "Is everyone else safe?" It was a fleeting hope that he and he alone had been flung and injured by the bizarre surge of ocean.

The little bird smiled, "Everyones fine." She whistles her beak clicking as she said it. "A couple of your sisters have been banged up a bit, bruises a few broken bones but other than that everyone survived without much injury. You on the other claw. "She looks the young male over "Banged your head and have ended up miles from the shore. We need to get you home to your rents." She frowns a little, how she was going to get him home was a conundrum.
"I think, I should fetch your father he will be able to carry you home." She tilts her head slightly a worried look in her eyes. Beyler was such a sweet cub, and he was more worried about everyone else when he should have been worried about himself.
She would wait to tell him of the state of the pride, the tsunami had done a number on the world he knew but his immediate family was safe even if his none immediate one was a little lost. She knew very little of who was missing she had done what Posiedon had asked and searched for te cubs. This cub was injured but alive and that was the important thing.

Still groggy, the idea of his father coming to pick him up like a helpless cub and carry him home was unacceptable. He was an adult now! He should be able to get home by himself... well, with a little help, maybe. With a grunt he stood, legs a bit wobbly, and gave the bird what was meant to be a stern look, but it only came out as a squinty scowl. "I can do it myself," he asserted as firmly as possible, trying his best to ignore the roaring in his head. At least the dizziness seemed to have faded, which could be important when swimming.
He looked downwards into the traitorous placid-seeming water. "Which way is land, Amphi?" he asked, trying to max his continuing confusion. Things just didn't quite make proper sense, not yet anyway. His brain was having a hard time connecting thoughts, words, and actions. He swung his head carefully to look at the colorful friend of his father. "I think I might need you to stay nearby," he admitted then, the idea of getting lost while swimming in the sea an uncomfortable thought that surfaced in the fog of his mind.
