Big Ma managed to gather a group of Pidge which came to her for guidance and for answers, not knowing what to do with themselves and afraid of their new emotion and instinct. They needed a leader and this role fell naturally to Ma, as a younger bird she still had a fighting spirit and a sense that something great was happening. She gathered a small number of followers and happened upon an abandoned old textile factory. This became the base for one of the first Pidge flocks. The pidge were sheltered here and also had a great view over the rest of town from this high building. Its windows were smashed which was great for the birds getting in and out in a hurry.
The pidge only roost in the very top floor of this four storey building, and very few birds ever venture into the lower floors, not really out of any fear (as the access is just as easy to any of the floors) just that they never need to.
The building is old and worn and as textile factories became less in demand the industry soon caved through and left with it this abandoned giant. The top floor only consists of one long room which was long ago used as a workplace for a good force of textile workers, and old rusted machines still lie unused in the building, as though one day all the workers left one evening and just never returned to their next day of work. Old coffee mugs lay next to tables and old newspapers can be found in drawers.
Even though this building is a ghost of human inhabitance, The oracles whisper that they may return to their once abandoned work-house once more.

This Flock is Headed by 'Big Ma'
'Big Ma'
A bird full of joy, Big Ma has time for everyone and everyone makes time for Big Ma. No one can remember what her previous name was as she has been going by the name for so long. She has a wide old head on her shoulders and loves to be an agony aunt, she'll listen to any pidges problem and hand out advice in exchange for food or trinkets.
Big Ma just fell into place as the head of flock, the ragtag group needed a leader and it was decided on the spot that Ma was prime candidate, she chose this flocks current roost (an old run down cotton mill) and her good decisions mean her place as leader is secure for a good time.
One thing to remember is that she is not smiles all the time and hides a strong and powerful temper, NO-ONE wants to get on the wrong side of Ma

Roles Exclusive to Ma's Flock
Oracle: Strictly speaking most Oracles have quite interesting personalities. They claim that the gods speak to them and impart their all seeing wisdom to others (sometimes regardless of whether they want to hear it or not). Usually though they are aged nutters, but there may be some truth in their batty claims.
Weather Watcher: A specialised group of Pidge started to be able to sense very small changes in the surroundings leading to very accurate predictions of weather. Also referred to by some as weather-witches, as many are witches who took a special lean toward reading the winds. Many come to weather-watchers to ask if the wind is in favour of a scavenging trip, or if the winter is looking particularly bad. These Pidge are useful for the Tactics team.

Big Ma's Laws
No Pidge will ink their feathers in the colours Blue and Green (these are the colours which represent Baker's Flock)
Only Adult Pidge may ink their feathers
No Pidge from the following jobs will go out after dark:
Entertainer
Nanny
Inker
Heads
A Pidge partners for life
A Pidge does not kill
A Pidge will help another Pidge in need
One Witch must always be on Guard duty (so as to be ready for emergencies)
