Hello. I've posted this somewhere else but... I'm really scared because my whole family thinks I'm crazy and wants to put me in an institution. I don't feel that I'm crazy, but they and my friends do and it's making me very frustrated... what do I do? gonk

Er... have you been in theropy at all?... Perhaps you just may need some time with a theorpist, or at least tell them to get you one... one that could conclude wither your insane or not and if you are, can fix it or something.

I have been to four therapists. They have told me that I have Psychosis and / or Schizophrenia combined with Asperger's Syndrome and Social Anxiety. But I don't think I'm crazy. And they've suggested a hospital. It really scares me. I feel lost and like I don't know what's going on...

Have you done anything in particular that caused harmed to yourself or anyone else? Because if you haven't, there's no reason for you to be in an intitution.
Perhaps you should make a journal and write down all your frustrations or simply talk to your family and friends about how you feel and have them try to understand what your going through.

You may not be a loony person, but they do see that there's a problem with you in some way... and they wouldn't suggest such if there's not much else to do and if it's unnecessary or minor... think of it this way... people aren't really told to go to the medical hospital unless there's an emergency or something larger that an average doctor can't necessarily solve on his own... same goes with an institution... they don't send people there for some small fry things. There's obviously something there.

I've cut myself (I'm not proud of that at all).

First off, I have Asperger Syndrome and Dissociative Identity Disorder, so feel very confident in what I'm about to say.
Yes, their diagnosis may sound like you are crazy, but Schizophrenia, Aspergers, and Social Anxiety are all perfectly manageable without any medication or institutions.
Find something that catches and holds your interest, then make a big deal out of it. I started something at work called the museum where all sorts of toys are currently taking up residence. Don't believe me, ask my friend Darklight13 since she works with me.
A journal may be good too. Find one with lines on one side of the page with the other side being blank, if possible. They're great for letting the mind wander and keeping assholes with ulterior motives away.
Now, my last bit of advice, tell those creeps messing with your head that the most they push such labels onto you, the likelier that you will succumb to the dangerous level of crazy. You sound perfectly fine to me and no one has the right to make you think you are less so.

I've had friends who use to cut themselves out of boredom and they're not crazy and you don't seem crazy at all.

Have you ever noticed that therapist can easily be split up into the rapist? Anyway to the point: What would cause them to think you're crazy? Surely it can't just be because you cut yourself. That's absolutely ridiculous.

Or at least use sanitized blades.

I see it like the other poster said. If its manageable, there is no reason to go to an institution. Those are there for people who can not survive on their own due to their illnesses.
That said, I want to know more about the schizophrenia? What do you say exactly that makes them think you hear voice/hallucinate?

That said, I want to know more about the schizophrenia? What do you say exactly that makes them think you hear voice/hallucinate? I hear voices and see people which tell me to do things. Henry, Thoreau, Chester. They tell me to hurt other people and to cut myself. So, I have a bunch of scars on my arms. Ignis is a stuffed animal but a voice comes from him. Worst of all, I found out that my husband, David, was one of them. Just a figment of my self that I've been living with for two years...I found out when Henry was able to physically fight him, and he died. That was the most shock that I've experienced so far. And a woman named Sarah-Landra keeps appearing to me and telling me that I must do the will of God to be righteous and become a complete angel, but she never tells me what that is. And Henry has attacked me multiple times. When I try to fight back, people look at me funny, because they don't see him there.

How old are you?
