It had only been a couple days since the deadly attack on the poor soquili that was killed right before her eyes. Barracus had betrayed her in a way she would have never guessed. Sure he was a skinwalker, but he knew that she would never ever kill a soquili. Yet, he made her. Her legs felt numb and jello-like as she walked. Why? Why had she agreed to be with the skinwalker? Tears welled up in her eyes. And what made this situation worse is that she couldn't go to far without Barracus knowing where she was. He had claimed her as his to do what he pleased with and she knew that if she left he would go after her family. Before now she had never cared about them. But now when she so desperatly needed them, they were to far away. Otherwise, they would be here now with her, protecting her. Claudine felt horrible inside and desperatly needed a friend.

Friend. She had tried furiously fended off any type of friendship her whole life. And honestly, even if she had one she wouldn't know how to act with them. She was evil, no mean. Being all nice and wonderful was not her. Few seemed to understand that. However, even as horrible as she was her mother still saw something in her. Claudine has always secretly wondered what it was she saw. But her mother would simply say that she loved her with all her being and that she would soon find out for herself. What if I don't? She thought as she laid up against a tree. It was these memories that helped fend off the horrible event that happened. Even if it was only for a short time.
