Zahur's side
Zahur's half of the room has just the bare minimum of things. No decor, plain sheets. If one only looks at his half, it actually seems like a prison cell with a slightly better bed.

{Tobias's Side} Tobi's side of the room was decorated long before he actually moved in, since his parents didn't want to deal with the headache of him contacting them for anything once he was out of the house.

Avon had instructed Tobi to stay in the dormitory building, but he was allowed to go to the cafeteria and commons room in order to feed and entertain Evangelos. That seemed like a good thing at first, but then when Evan had gotten hungry and looked to Tobi to feed him, the pressure set in.
Tobias had never made any food in his life. Everything had been done for him. He only knew how to dress himself because Myrtle stopped doing it for him when he moved out into the guest house. So after a few failed attempts, he managed to make Evangelos some food and then get him tucked into bed for a nap.
Once that was done he settled himself into his chair at the desk and just... existed. Looking at the decor on his side of the room made him think of his parents, whose deaths he still believed to be responsible for.

Zahur was walking down the hall, wincing every now and then. The collar that had been placed upon him hurt, and with good reason as part of it was pushing hard against his neck. He assumed the probe was the bit that stopped his powers from working, not that he really cared. He deserved this, every last bit of punishment that Avon had when he came to confess the horrible sin he had committed to the elder. He had just grown, and practically darted over to the main building of the complex, where Avon was waiting with a change of clothes.
There the door was, the door to his prison for who knows long. Zahur couldn't help but stare at it for a few moments, before giving one final look around. He then opened the door and went inside.
To his shock, he was not alone. He was almost certain that he was going to be alone, but to his shock and inner horror, Tobias was there. The adopted child of the people he killed. Right there.
"This is a surprise..." he commented blankly. "I was almost certain I'd be alone in this room..."

Tobias pushed himself out of his mental fog and looked at the now open door, seeing that it was Zahur standing there he felt somewhat relieved, but also anxious. "What made you think that...?" He made no effort to move from his spot on the chair.
"I'm surprised they'd let me share a room, considering that I'm being monitored and all.." He glanced at Evan, still asleep in the bed. It was nice that at least part of the conversation would take place silently... one less voice to possibly wake the toddler up. "You grew... you look nice."

Zahur blinked, confused. Why on earth would Tobias need monitoring? That made no sense.
The sight of the small child caught his attention next. He'd have to be quieter. It appeared that Tobias took his adoption advice to heart, quite sooner then he had thought in fact.
"Why are you being monitored?" he asked, and then nodded in the 'growth' statement. "You did too."

"I suppose my retaliation triggered it.." He sighed a little, seeming to shrink in his seat. "I don't... I don't really remember a lot about that night but... I think something I did drove my father insane... He killed them all. Except Felicia, she wasn't home, thank god..." Tobi rubbed at his temples, trying to erase the image of their bodies. "I got them all killed. Avon said the human police have been demanding to see me, so now I'm under constant surveillance.. I'm not supposed to leave the dormitory building... The only reason I'm allowed out of this room is him." He nodded at Evangelos.
"They were going to officially adopt him, before I got them killed."

Zahur turned to the door immediately. If Tobias was being punished for the crime that he himself committed, it was no longer necessary and Avon should let him go about his business.
"Then there is a mistake that I should take up with Avon at once..." he said as he grabbed the door handle. As soon as he touched it, a charge of electricity coursed through his body from the collar, which caused him to double over right there against the door. Instead of yelping at the pain, he was biting his lip, as he did not want to wake the sleeping toddler.
"Ow..." he said blankly, but the rest of his body showed that the shock hurt, a lot.

"Z-Zahur?" Tobias pushed himself up and moved to kneel down next to the other teen, a worried expression on his face. "Are you okay? What are you talking about? There is no mistake."

Zahur's body winced as he forced himself to sit down. He looked at Tobias for a moment, then looked away from him again.
"No, there is a mistake. You were not the one that caused your father to shoot everyone in the house as well as himself..." he paused for a moment. "I was. I did it. That's why I am here. That's why I can't leave..." He pulled down his high collar to reveal the one that was tightly clamped around his neck.
"When you called, I heard you fall. I heard the phone fall. I kept calling and calling for you and you wouldn't answer. I know I don't show much emotion, but I feel it, deep inside, and I was so scared and angry that perhaps you had been killed that I ran from my house to yours, and in a fit of inner rage, I used my powers to make what happened...happen..."

Tobias was silent for awhile, running the information over in his head. Was that even possible? He had never been to Zahur's house so he didn't know if it was within walking distance, though if it were true it probably was. He felt relieved, but also upset, and still guilty.
"It's.... It's okay." He placed a hand on Zahur's shoulder, examining the collar that had been placed on him. "If I had not called, you wouldn't have done what you did, so you are not entirely to blame..." He sighed and looked away. "Perhaps we are both deserving of this punishment."

Zahur shook his head. "No, this isn't right. You shouldn't have to be looked down upon for something you did not do, for something you did not cause," he said with the smallest of frowns.
"You called because I asked you to call. I should have just waited for father to get home and told him that I thought you'd been hurt. I should have talked about these growing inner pangs of hatred for those who did wrong with someone, but I didn't. Instead I tried to enact my own twisted version of justice..." he scoffed lightly. "Justice...I was such a fool. I am no better then any other murderer, even if I was just a child when it happened. I wish I had the clarity of mind then that I do now, but I cannot change the past, I can only prepare for my punishment ahead..."

"But that's just it Zahur, you were a child. You did what you thought was right because you didn't know any better." Tobi sighed and shook his head. "Even if they stop confining me to the building, they will not stop monitoring me, I'm sure. I have to basically raise Evangelos myself now, I doubt they would let me do that unwatched." He looked back to the sleeping toddler.
"Things will get better... you will be forgiven. You saved me, even though it came at that high of a cost." He turned his eyes back to Zahur.

Zahur shook his head slowly, not looking at Tobias, or at anything really. His eyes couldn't focus on anything, though he had no idea why.
"I do not deserve forgiveness. I am tempted to just throw myself to the humans in hopes that it will placate them enough to leave the rest of the community alone. Everyone is going to suffer for my actions. It wouldn't surprise me if every Meta hated me for doing what I've done." He paused for a moment, closing his eyes.
"It wouldn't surprise me if my family hated me for what I have done..."

"Don't say things like that, Zahur. Throwing yourself to the humans will not do anything. Even if they have their way with you, I doubt it will satisfy them. They will know that there are more of us, with powers even more dangerous than yours." He frowned, shaking his head. "You said that your father loves you though... that means that he must actually know that parents are supposed to love their children no matter what. Unless he's like my parents, I'm sure he still loves you."
Something seemed a little off in the way Zahur was behaving. The unfocused eyes were what really alerted Tobi to a possible issue. "Do you want to lie down? You seem... tired or something."
