Delta's tongue lolled from his mouth as his paws carried him over the savannah in something less than a full on run but a little more excited than a trot. He didn't really have any particular place to go in mind and was rather fond of just heading to the non-destinations. He'd end up where it was that pleased him, one way or another. Oh, a rabbit! The little creature had just slipped from the bush and was racing for another bush waaaaay over across Delta's path, but he had not counted on Delta being there!

He gave a few happy yip as he suddenly bolted, racing right after it. The little rabbit had been moving fast before but now it seemed to move like lightning! He yipped more as he panted, darting to the left because it seemed the rabbit had lost confidence and was turning to race back to it's hiding spot. Delta was happy for the chase, though not particularly hungry so when he suddenly found his paws caught up in themselves and found himself flying forward and grunting as he hit the ground and rolled he did not mind half as much that his 'pray' had gotten away. He finally rolled to a stop, flopping on his back. The world seemed to swirl around him for a moment before it settled and he just lay there panting, then laughed. Oh that had been fun!

His bright gaze settled on the clouds above and his paws rested on his chest, his tail giving a few wags before he lay still to just watch the sky.

She had been practicing in the shade whenever he appeared - lightly hopping from paw to paw with her usual finesse. Initially, she hadn't paid the fellow wild dog much heed as she'd long grown accustomed to them hurrying on, nine out of ten times, they always had somewhere to go. However, when he had broken into a run and began to make a complete rukus, her interest had been piqued. From her current vantage point she hadn't been able to see the unfortunate rabbit who was the source of his entertainment but she was able to see everything else...Including the glorious tumble that followed as he tripped over his own paws.

Her ears perked at this, her lips quivering just a touch as she avoided the urge to laugh. She failed to approach initially, but whenever he didn't appear to be getting up she did elect to slink forward, just to make sure everything was okay. She wasn't far along whenever she heard the laughter and concluded that he was fine, alas, he still refrained from bouncing to his paws.

Still, curious as she was, she continued forward and eventually appeared beside him, positioned by his head she looked down at him in a quizzical manner, her brows raised. All in all, she seemed more amused than put out by the disturbance - then again, she wasn't the sort to anger easily anyway.

"You know," she began with a small chuckle, "I think you might need to work on your footwork," she finished.

Ah, the clouds were nice! Over there was a cute little turtle... and his frog buddy waaaay over on the other side of the sky. Oh, and a lion! And what was that, a little bushel of flowers? Delta's tongue hung from the side of his mouth as he breathed out easily, thinking he could watch clouds and pick out shapes for hours. No, for days! And look, even a wild dog shaped cloud! He smiled wide for a moment, before realizing that the wild dog was not a cloud at all. He blinked, slightly surprised as he stared up at the blue coated female, then his smile returned. She was pretty, she would have made a fine cloud.

His ears perked slightly at her words and he gave an easy chuckle, taking no offense. In fact, her words were very true. "Oh, you saw that?" His gaze floated over the pretty lines of her fur, thinking her markings were rather nice. They were not as extensive as some wild dogs he'd seen, but they were much more exciting than what he found on his own pelt, which was only accompanied by one splotch of bright red. "Placement of paws has never been my strong suit." he joked right along with her, having never minded poking fun at himself. Some days he could catch rabbits, other days he could not. That was life.

"Say... are you from a pack from around here?" He sniffed at the air, eyes half shutting. No, no other smells accompanied hers. Just old scents, he hadn't by chance wandered into meeting a group. That was too bad, sometimes the days were lonely with only yourself. He'd let her answer though, he'd already asked. Who knew, maybe she'd just strayed from her pack for a while. "M'names Delta, who might you be pretty lady?" His words were easy and not suggestive, just friendly and almost rolling straight from his tongue without a thought for them.

She'd always regarded her markings as sleek, but delicate - never overdone or too painful on the eyes. All things considered, each colour upon her coat seemed to compliment one another beautifully and while she was no narcissist, she could spend a reasonable amount of time admiring them whenever the mood struck her. Alas, this afternoon was not one of those days, particularly when there was something of much more interest sat directly in front of her - another Wild Dog and given their rarity in her life, he deserved her full attention!

Still, his ability to poke fun at himself was well received and her tail gave a wag of appreciation as he conceded that there were certain things in life that he wasn't great at. She could think of a few things she would struggle with too, but when it came to footwork, that wasn't one of them. She hazarded another small smile at this point and shook her head just a touch, not in a manner that indicated she disagreed, moreso that she found his remarks amusing.

"I've always found that footwork is a good thing to have," she offered at last and chuckled softly. "A good little dance or trick here and there will confuse any hungry predator," she explained and motioned to the skidmarks on the ground that he had left in his wake. "For example, those skidmarks would be the hunter's if you had done a somersault, he would have been so surprised that he'd have to stop to gawk!"

Yup, she was speaking from experience too!

"Mmmm but no, I don't come from any pack," she continued and pursed her lips just a touch. "Been Miss. Independant since I was a teenager," she confirmed. It was at this point that she paused briefly to absorb his name, and then she provided her own. "My name is Kimaji, but most simply call me 'Kim'," she offered.

He chuckled at her words, his paws suddenly stretching out behind his head before he rolled and then sat up, shifting to get comfortable. Ah, she was still just as pretty right side up! "Well I will keep summersaults in mind the next time I am being hunted." He smirked a little, tail wagging. "Though let us hope that is not going to be any day soon, I don't fancy being a meal for something bigger than me. Of course, chances are I'd get away if he stood to gape with his jaws hanging wide." At the mental image Delta laughed, deciding it might be something he'd like to see, one day. If he was daring... it wasn't like anything really hunted wild dogs. Maybe if a lion was hungry enough? His head was tilted as he thought this over, and then he suddenly shuddered. No, that was all much to risky.

"Oh-ho, have you now? Well, that makes two lonely dogs then." He had been alone for a long time, as long as he could remember. His memory was not that great though, to be honest. He'd come from a large, loving family thought he couldn't really recall much of them. Still, he liked to imagine that they were all off and happy in their own lives, and that his brothers and sisters all had families or packs of their own. That always seemed like the good life to Delta, but he'd never put much time into finding himself a pack. Or a lady, for that matter.

"Ah, then I will call you Kima. It goes rather nicely with Delta, yes? And this way I will be more memorable." He grinned and clambered to all four paws, shaking away some of the dust that had settled in his no-longer white coat. "Do you like clouds, Kima?" He asked suddenly, unsure really what the protocol was for a 'normal' conversation. He felt like talking about the clouds, the topic seemed as good as any other. "Or perhaps you are always looking toward the earth, as concerned with feet as you are..." He teased slowly, ending his words with a friendly smile because he intended no offense.

She'd be pursued by enough hungry lions and malicious hyena packs to know that there were certain individuals you avoided. Fortunately, it had also been during these periods that she had tried and tested her little stunts, and the vast majority of the time they were an overwhelming success! Admittedly the gaping and surprise were unpredictable in terms of the delay they provided, particularly when faced with large groups, but it had always bought her just enough time to get well ahead of the group. Suffice to say that the gods had been very favourable towards the blue dog in her time on this earth!

"You think a life without a pack is lonely?" she enquired, her ears perking with curiosity. It wasn't that she disagreed with him completely, there were moments when she would have liked more predictable company, but there was something quite nice about having the world as your oyster. She could go anywhere, see anything and nine out of ten times there would be nothing to stop her. "I always thought it paved the way to adventure," she pointed out with a soft chuckle.

Nevertheless, she permitted him to lead her in the conversation and seemed to accept his decision to call her 'Kima', it was similar enough to her normal nickname that she'd know he was talking to her! Although, whenever he made the jest towards her paws she did flatten her ears a little and stuck her tongue out in retort - pfft, how little he knew about her arts and talent! Regardless, she was capable of taking such things in good humour and elected to take an interest in his query - although she couldn't say she knew a great deal about clouds.

"Well I don't dislike them, do they do anything else other than float...?"

His tongue lolled from his mouth, a rather easy-going expression rolling onto his features as he watched her and listened to her speak. He grinned a little at her question, shrugging slowly. "As often lonely as it is gratifying, though I have some curious belief that living with a pack would be much the same thing, though perhaps more gratifying than it would be lonely." He chuckled a little, tail wagging. He figured that you could get lonely with pack brothers and pack sisters just as easily as you got lonely out in this huge land, all by yourself. "Though I think adventure might be in short order once you're in a pack... Unless you found yourself in a very adventurous pack, or maybe a pack has it's own sorts of adventures." Here he laughed too, imagining the sorts of things a pack might define as an adventure.

His head tilted almost immediately at her question. "Float?" He seemed confused by this, and glanced up to the sky, frowning slightly. "Well... they make pictures." He said slowly, looking back to her with a small smile on his maw. "Anything you can imagine, it's up there in the clouds. And they change color! You can't change color, can you?" His brows rose slightly, his logic was that because she could not change color and clouds could that clouds certainly were special. "And they just laze about all day, and some days they're gone from the sky entirely. Isn't that curious? They just up and leave. And think of how far they must travel to be out of our gazes the whole day, sometimes even several days. Even if we're traveling too!" Of course, there was no way Delta would ever be able to know the science of clouds so this all seemed a little magical and mysterious to him.

The wild dog before her was certainly a creative one, she'd never really given the clouds much of a thought. It just went to show how much variety there was in each individual's interests and hobbies - she might have liked to dance, but he appeared to like cloud watching. Whichever way you looked at it, there was a certain level of creativity required for both hobbies though they might have been approached from different angles. Regardless, now that he had given his explanation she did turn her head skywards to observe the clouds above her head... Did they really make shapes?

"I've seen lizards change colour," she replied, lowering her gaze again to fix it on her company. It wasn't that she wanted to shatter his illusions or take away from the special nature of his clouds, but she had seen a chameleon before, it'd been awesome. "Of course, it couldn't float as well so I guess the clouds are the winners when they're put up against the lizard," she concluded, a small chuckle escaping from her lips as she once again turned her gaze upwards again.

Well, try anything once, right?

"I've never really paid much attention to what's above my head to be honest," she confessed, sitting down in a more comfortable position as she waited for the clouds to change shapes, strange as it might have seemed, she wanted to see these pictures too!

He blinked at her response, head tilting for a moment and eyes widening very slightly. Lizards changing color? "Really?" He yipped in an almost childish manner, sounding very excited. "Clouds are very predictable when changing color.." He mumbled in some sort of agreement to what she was saying. They only turned colors when it was going to rain, very early in the morning or very late in the morning. At least, those were the only times he saw the clouds turning colors. "What was the lizard like? Oh I'm jealous! That sounds like a lot of fun... where was the lizard from?"

He took a seat next to her, tail wagging as he glanced back and forth from the sky to her. It was as though he was expecting her to declare understanding over why clouds were so great, but he didn't think he'd be offended if this sort of thing didn't happen. "And maybe after we can see that dancing? I don't think I'd be very good at it though... clearly.." He chuckled, referencing his earlier tumble.

She certainly didn't know why the clouds changed colour and nor did she really thing they were that great, but this didn't mean that in time she wouldn't change her mind. Given she'd never really had the opportunity to investigate them, she would need time to settle down and observe them for herself. Perhaps if they ever met in the future she would be able to declare her appreciation for such things with just as much enthusiasm as he did - only time would tell in that respect.

"Well, I found it in a jungle," she replied softly and turned her gaze towards him as he sat down. "I was talking to this big, fluffy lion and then it just walked right passed us. Well, it looked like it walked right passed us but he told me it had been there the whole time," she shook her head, clearly incredulous. She had certainly bumped into a lizard, but to this day she couldn't understand how it pulled off such a feat or why it did.

...All she knew was that it was awesome.

"So then I went up to sniff it and it changed colours again, it looked just like a tree branch," she explained. It was at this point that she rolled her shoulders and her expression became grave. "But he didn't like me very much because he bit my nose," she mused.
