These new lands were not unlike their old home. Grassy fields, often dotted with flowers, provided plenty to eat. Trees gathered here and there to make forests big and small that provided shelter, food and other resources. Lakes and rivers wound there way through both areas giving them plenty to drink and an opportunity to swim if one so chose. This was nice and all, and certainly made the transition to their new home easier on most, but to Mornhavon this land was filled with opportunity. While it did resemble the herds old lands there was one big difference that made the small stallion almost gleeful - there were so many new plants here for him to experiment with. Some he had seen before, know if they did or didn't work, but in the short time they had been here he had seen at least a dozen that could prove interesting to work with.
Now if only he could find someone in need of healing. He wasn't a great healer, far from it actually, but he did get an odd satisfaction when tinkering with another life, especially if he was able to use untested methods or plants on them. Unfortunately for him the herd was looking darn healthy at this moment, so he had wandered off in search of a victim...er no wait, a patient. His search didn't take too long before he came across a young bird who had fallen from its nest. Obviously it had tried to fly but was still too young to have the strength and skill for him. A smile danced across his lips as he trotted over to see the birds one wing was bent at an awkward angle, clearly it was broken and then bird was in plenty of pain.
"Ah you shouldn't fly so soon." He said bending his head down to get a closer look. Other than a couple of chirps the bird did nothing to remove itself from his presence. Now, where was that odd looking plant he had seen earlier today. Raising his head Mornhavon glanced about. There nestled under a large oak tree sat the plant. He wasn't sure what it was called but he would find out what it would do. Using his blink ability Mornhavon pulled the plant to his side before carefully pulling off a couple of leaves. He placed the leaves in the birds beak, who promptly spit them out, only to be placed back by the irritated stallion. "Eat these, they will help...I think." Those last two words were spoken quietly, and he gave the bird a stern look as if to say he would continue to force them into it's beak until it did so.

Asiya was supposed to be taking it easy. Most of the heard still had not made it through the gate yet so their numbers were small. Yet all that seem to mean was that the older members continuously came to her complaining about the younger, inexperienced healers. How some of the other leaders had done this for so long, Asiya didn’t want to know. If it wasn’t a young one over using their abilities, it was one attempting to do something they didn’t know how. So she would have to step in and peaceful, softly, resolve the matter.
Then there was the rumor of someone experimenting? Well that didn’t surprise Asiya too much. After all, they had to learn.
Yet it was after one of the eldest mares coming to her about someone eating in her spot that the peaceful leader decided to just walk away and de-stress. That same elder had seen her mother lead so Asiya knew she would pass judgment quickly.
Lost in her own thoughts, the minicorn almost missed a scene taking place quite near her side. . . almost.
"Eat these, they will help...I think."
The voice said prompting Asiya to stop and look right. There he was, shoving something into a poor baby bird’s peak! What was he thinking when he didn’t even know if it would work?
Putting her emotions aside, the mare stepped to the right and spoke in her soft, music like tone. “Good day. Might I ask what we have here?” Lifting her head up slightly as the wind blew back her mane, she stood smiling as she waited.

Mornhavon's purple eyes watched as the baby bird chewed on the leaves with little enthusiasm. Clearly the stupid little beast didn't understand that he was only trying to help - to a certain point of course. More than anything he was looking for signs that would indicate if the plant held any healing or other properties to it. Some plants worked faster than others. So far other than the bird not wanting to eat the leaves there was nothing happening. The was until he heard a females voice coming from besides him. The purple stallion spun around to face the leader of his kind. Well that's just great.
"It's got a broken wing, I'm giving it herbs to help, I would think that would be quite obvious." Never mind that he had no idea what these herbs would do if anything. He studied the mare for a moment. Mornhavon knew she was the leader of the herd but her name escaped him. Honestly names weren't important to him, they were minor details as far as he was concerned. Names of patients, friends and even family were often forgotten quite quickly so that he could save his memories for far more important things. With a slight shrug dismissing any thoughts of asking her what her name was he turned his attention back to the bird.
"Keep chewing." He said a bit sternly. The blasted thing must have thought it okay to stop doing so the moment his attention was turned away. The lack of results thus far was disappointing to say the least. Mornhavon hated waiting almost as much as he hating not having something to experiment with. It took him a moment to remember there was someone else standing there and slowly he turned his gaze back to the mare. "Just exactly why are you here anyways? Don't you have some important leader stuff to do?"

Asiya closed the distance between herself and the purple stallion with a few well placed steps. Though she knew the small bird was in pain, her eyes never left the other minicorn. He was making it clear to her that the well-being of this bird was not his first concern. But what was?
“My duty is to those of my herd and those who are hurt.” Asiya whispered in her singing voice as she ignored most of his other questions. In this moment, her duty was the figure out what this guy was doing. Couldn’t he see the bird wasn’t going to eat those herbs? Any more pushing on his neck and the babe would end up with more than a broken wing.
Leaning forward, Asiya placed her hoof down nearly ontop of the stallion’s. “Tell me, what do these herbs do then that your own skill cannot? A broken bone is not something that can be healed by plants alone.” She was questioning him with an innocent look as her face moved down towards the small patient. “And he’s terrified!” She called out before shooting a rather firm look backwards.
Then something caught her off guard completely. There was a smell, faint but still there, coming from the remaining pile of herbs. She couldn’t place it but she was certain of one thing: He didn’t have a clue what this did.
“Tell me.” Picking her head up and shaking that black mane loose, Asiya gave her most peaceful smile to him. “Have you tried any of that before giving it to this little one?”

Mornhavon couldn't help but let out a snort. And all along he thought her duties were to be a pain in the a** and interrupt him, well this didn't change anything. He didn't care what her duties were, she could be Queen of the whole damned lands and he would still go about his own business as usual. No silly mare would stop him. Oh course all of these thoughts came to a stop when she almost stepped on his hoof. "Hey watch where you are stepping!" Blasted females! He took a step back, only because he hated her being so close to him. Next thing you know she would want to frolic in a meadow full of spring flowers.
"Isn't it obvious." He stated with a huff. "They are to ease the pain." Whether the herbs actually did anything for the pain or not he was yet to find out. She had come along and so rudely interrupted his work that the bird had not had time to swallow them and show any effects from the plant. "Oh course he's terrified, probably worried you will step on him like you almost did me." He knew the true reason the bird was scared but that wasn't something he would actually say.
Wait. She expected him to test the plant on himself? Ha! That would never happen. Who knew what horrible thing would happen if he ate the wrong plant. Oh he could heal himself if needed but he hated using his actual healing powers. Plus experimenting on oneself opposed to on others was quite dull and you couldn't always see and learn everything. Plus one Soquili's reaction to a certain plant may be different than another. So his experimenting, while dangerous and very much not the norm, were a necessary part of life. "No I didn't try them!"
