Name: Wren Awinita
Nicknames: Fawn (What her father calls her. She would answer to this XD )

Age: Unknown. Appears in her late teens. ( Perytons are pretty much immortal in myth... so only her family truly knows her age. )

Species: Red Crowned Crane Peryton

Myth: According to myth a Peryton is a deer with the atributes of a bird. Usually depicted as a horned deer with birds wings and possibly plumage elsewhere. In one myth it says they are the souls of lost travelers whom were killed. It is said they are born with the shadow of a human, what lead people to believe they were once a humans soul. In order for the Peryton to gain their true shadow (of a winged deer) they need to kill a human and bathe in their blood and gore. Perytons are both meat eaters and grass eaters.

Though the above was what perytons were originally. The more modern perytons, Since joining halloween, have a slightly different view. They still need to bathe in a humans blood... but instead of doing the killing themselves, they just find someone ELSE whom killed them first. A difficult task at times, but necessary.

Personality: Wren is someone whom is content staying in the background. She is shy and very skittish. She scares really easily. Even if its just a light tap on her shoulder, she will probably jump around and give you the 'deer in headlights' look.

She is very soft spoken, and is not the best at conversation. She needs to think about what she says, her natural language is Atlantean. She speaks english fluently, but still her brain is hardwired to speak in her first language first. (She speaks in atlantean around her family) If she is ever frightened, she might speak out in her native language first and then correct herself in english.

Her shyness stays around for a while until she gets to know someone. If she was with someone she knew, and met someone new, she would be timid at the new person and probably looking towards the friend for guidance. it is a slow process, but if you get to know her you will find she is kind, Gentle, but also very strong willed and stubborn. One of her major stubborn streaks is that she will be avidly against killing a human to gain her shadow.

Even though indirectly, the fact that she has not gained her shadow makes her unstable. Something that she hides behind her shyness and her stubborn ways. If she was around a human, or someone even spoke of one, or if someone even mentioned blood, she would suddenly fill with a bloodlust that was almost overwhelming. No matter what she would not kill them, but she would be able to sense the blood running through the humans veins and it would call to her. It is against her nature to her, being more docile than not. It is something inside that is more a driving force for her monster species than anything else. Wren hides this nature to the best of her abilities, happy that she is around fellow magical beings in Halloween and not humans. She does not want to bathe in a humans blood.


Why did they enroll at the academy? Wren still has a humans shadow, she has not bathed in a humans blood yet. They want her to go find her human to bath in the blood of.. but she is unwilling to. They hope being around the school will raise her own powers, and make her see to be whole she NEEDS to do this.

Fear: Stop Shadow- Because the shadow is so important to the peryton they have slight control over them. If her shadow touches her opponents she can stop them in their tracks. She can move, but her opponent cant as long as the shadows touching them.

Progression: As she goes up in the years... I can see her gaining the ability to stretch out her shadow to make it touch others. or possibly control more than one person at a time.

Natural ability: Shadow Manip - In first year.... she sometimes does not have control of her shadow. Meaning, the shadow might make rude gestures... or change forms randomly on her. Either to mock her, or mock others.

Description:
Skin color: A very VERY pale color. Not pure white, but close to it. If she looks better in regular skintones by all means give her it! Im very open XD

Hair color: Pure black with a white stripe somewhere in the front of her face.

Hair style: See outfit sketch ref. Feel free to play if youd like XD

Eyes: A startaling bright yellow. Glowy plz! I would like for her to have thick red makeup around her eyes too like this:

Horns: I would like for her to have horns. Not huge horns, but ones that start small and gradually get larger through the years. something like this for her year one. These horns ide like to be solid white.

Hooved legs: ...Yeessss you heard me XD Ide like for in her human forms her legs to transition into deer legs starting around the knee's and working down. I would like them to be black like the cranes are. So it would go skincolor to black. Hoof color being your choice.

03. I love the idea of her shadows flipping her off first year. The imagery is delightful. As for second and third year, as she gains more control, perhaps it could become a little tangible somehow? Like...it'll become solid enough for her to drag her shadow up and use it as somewhere to set her coffee cup or something IDK IF THAT WORKS OR IS ALLOWED MAN IT'S LATE AND I CAN'T THINK STRAIGHT I need sleep
