This was it. This was the day. The day that Xiu had taken to calling, "Operation: Fun for Shun". In her head, that was. She wasn't going to utter that embarrassing name aloud.
After her brief conversation with Mitsu and Lizzy on Groanspring, Xiu had called them to let them know more of the details--that they would be going out to play games at the arcade, and that the goal of the day was to make Shun have some fun. Despite her initial fear of the reaper, she had determined--whether he liked it or not--that he really wasn't a bad guy. After their chat last time, and upon learning that he never had a chance to play as a child, Xiu had decided that this would have to be amended. It was never too late!
That being said, she wasn't sure if he was going to say anything about this fact that his three companions for the day were all ghouls. In her defense though, she had good reasons for her choices! Mitsu was a sweetheart and she was quite close to Shun, while Lizzy was social and had great ideas. That, and they were all mutual friends. With the three of them, surely they would manage to get the reaper to crack a smile by the end of the day, right?
Right. Well, hopefully anyways. Deciding that she wanted to bring her camera for this (she was crossing her fingers for Shun-jumping-on-the-bed pictures), the Baku looped it around her neck, and then did a quick survey of her room. Wallet, skelephone...yup, looked like she had everything! Satisfied, she rushed out and headed towards the appointed meeting time--the front gates of the school.

Shun didn't really know what to expect for today. He hadn't been told much of this outing aside from the fact that it was going to be a little group hangout. By that, he just figured that they'd figure out something once they got together, or that they'd just wander around town for a bit.
That wasn't the only reason why he didn't know what to make of it.
He... really hadn't hung out with groups of people before. It generally was just with one other person. Even then, just... chilling with people and actually being social was still something relatively new to him.
All of this didn't stop him from showing up at the gates at the appointed time. There, he waited for Xiu and whoever else was going to show up. The Baku didn't take too long before he spotted her heading on over. Taking a hand out of his pocket, he just sort of waved to her quietly.

While it was rare for Lizzy to be early for anything, it wasn't impossible. In fact, she was already waiting at the main gate long before they were scheduled to meet... Except she got bored and decided to go check the condition of her room. Xiu's plans for the day had got her rather excitef and pumped. She was sureShun would turn up looking rather grumpy, as usual, but she was determined to get a smile out of him by the end of the day.
It would be like a secret mission.
From the little talk she had with the boil while he was ill thanks to Mitsu's cookies, she came to the same conclusion Xiu had confirmed - Shun never had any fun due to his father being a 'hardass'... While she wasn't 100% sure what he meant by that, it didn't sound like a nice word... Being made up of 'hard' and 'a**'.
"Shun! Xiu! Evening!" She greeted with a wave and a huge smile; she was sure that the day was going to be fun! Why wouldn't it be?

Mitsu was....well she was lagging a little behind the rest. Xiu had given her instructions of the date and time and Mitsu had gotten rather wrapped up in doing an assignment and nearly missed leaving in time. She had to fight to keep Ziggy in the door, the acrobat was determined to leave with her. In the end Mitsu nearly had to throw the cat back into the room and slam the door shut. With a sigh once that was done Mitsu looked at her phone to realize yes...now she was late.
Trying to hurry the lupine made her way through the monster dorms in a run, heading for the front gate all the while checking the pockets of her hoodie to make sure she had everything. Wallet, phone, key, check! Thankfully she was a fast runner because it didn't take her long to finally make it to the front gate where everyone else was already gathered.
"S-sorry I'm late," She apologized nearly stumbling to a stop. Running she seemed to do well without being unsteady...stopping was another matter.
Pushing her mask up slightly she looked at her three friends. Mitsu was rather excited about today, she had been looking forward to the hanging out and the things Xiu had described. She had never really done anything like it before though she had no idea the secret mission the two other ghouls had. "So, where are we off to first?"

"Hi aniki!" Xiu chirped, using her new nickname for Shun the moment she spotted him. When Lizzy arrived shortly after, the ghoul received a hug and big grin. "Excited for today?" Her tail gave a little wave, and there was this little gleam in her eye as she spoke to the other demoness. She paused to glance at Shun for a brief moment before turning back and smiling. "It's not going to be easy." While the reaper would probably be confused by what she meant (he had better, anyways--it was their secret operation), she knew that Lizzy would understand.
When Mitsu showed up and stopped before them, nearly stumbling in the process, Xiu's arms automatically shot out in case she needed to steady the ghoul. Seeing that all was well though, she also gave the lupine ghoul a hug, grinning when she pulled back. "You're not that late! Don't worry about it!"
Honestly, despite the fact the outing had been planned to make Shun have some fun, the Baku was pretty excited herself. This was the first outing she had been on with a group of friends! "Umm, the arcade, I think?" That's what she had initially planned as their first stop, anyways. "Is that fine with you guys?" The arcade seemed like the best place to start with--there was something for everyone there! That, and Xiu always saw lots of smiling ghouls and boils whenever she walked past it.
Hopefully Shun would be one of them by the end of the night.

For a moment or so, Shun just kind of stared at Xiu as she called him aniki once more. But then, he just nodded to both her and Lizzy as a greeting while looking around to see who else was coming. The Baku hadn't really said who was showing up and all.
Hearing Xiu say something about not being easy, he rose an eyebrow, then turned as Mitsu came up to meet with them. When he saw her, there was an incredibly subtle shift in his expression. It wasn't something that was easy to pick up on.
"Hey," he greeted before looking towards the Baku again as she said where they were going to go.
"The arcade?" he repeated. Well, that was fine he supposed, though he wasn't really planning on jumping in on many of the games at all.
"Sure I guess," he shrugged. If that was where the others wanted to go, he suppose he'd follow along in any case.

"Really excited!" She giggled at Xiu, happily returning the hug before grinning, "I love a good challenge~" She understood the secret mission! A pause followed, however, as she looked from Xiu to Shun, and then back to the ghoul. Tilting her head, she blinked, "... Aniki...?" Was that some sort of a nickname for the reaper?
"No worries!" She grinned at Mitsu before pulling the ghoul into a group hug with Xiu after Xiu had given Mitsu a hug; never not hugs, never enough hugs! After releasing them both though, she nodded, "The arcade sounds like a good place to start! We could always go for eye scream at an eye scream place near the arcade after we're done~"
She was secretly pleased; she liked the arcade despite its loud noises and bright lights! While it wasn't a place she would ever go to alone, she didn't mind going with a friend to accompany her... Or in this case, a group of friends. She was sure they were going to have fun! Shun will smile at the end of the day, even if it's a small smile! At least, that was the plan...
Looking at Shun, she giggled, "I'm glad that you're agreeable to it!" Then, turning to address everyone, she gestured at the path leading away from school, "Shall we? And oh! Who hadn't been to the arcade before...?"

"Hello, Shun." Mitsu seemed pleased to see him if the small visible smile was any indication. "I'm glad you could make it." Her tail began to wag a bit with excitement. Hanging out with a group of friends promised to be fun. "I'm glad I'm not late. I couldn't keep Ziggy in my room." She was almost afraid to look back expecting to see the acrobat sitting there. Though, then again if she had followed she probably would have attacked Shun by now. The lupine just couldn't figure out what it was about Shun that Ziggy didn't like.
"Arcade?" Mitsu had heard of the place though she had never gone herself. She didn't exactly play games, her general pass time was reading or playing the piano.
Ready to follow Lizzy to where ever this place was Mitsu pulled her mask back into place pausing when the spider demon asked who had been before. "I...I've never been." She wasn't even sure she had seen the place before but it sounded fun.

When Mitsu greeted Shun, the Baku eyed her female friend with a little grin, and then turned to look at the reaper for his reaction and response to the greeting. The lupine definitely seemed pleased to see him! Xiu smiled from ear to ear, her gaze sliding from one of her friends, to the other, in what could be described as a curious and sly way. She was probably imagining things, being the hopeless romantic that she was, but...well, that didn't mean she couldn't wish, right?
Fact: Xiu was a hopeless romantic who liked to play matchmaker every so often.
Beaming at Lizzy, she clapped her hands together and nodded in excitement. "That sounds like fun! I'm always up for eye scream!" She had never met anyone who didn't like eye scream! Surely Shun wouldn't be an exception to this fact, right?
...Because if he was, Xiu would be horrified and declare that he was a lost cause.
As they walked along the path, Xiu grinned a little sheepishly at Lizzy's question and slowly raised her hand. "I...I've always wanted to go to an arcade," She explained, her cheeks taking on a pink tint, "But I never had anyone to go with. I heard it was a lot of fun though, so I thought..." Trailing off, she looked over their group and smiled. She couldn't ask for better friends to go to the arcade and play games with!

For a moment or so, Shun's gaze lingered on Mitsu before he looked away to the other girls. When he did, that subtle little shift seemed to disappear. Whether he was aware of it, was a good question.
It seemed that he was going to be the only male on this outing. He... didn't really know how to feel about that fact. Hopefully he wouldn't be wrangled into anything incredibly awkward or girly.
"Stepped into one once or twice," he shrugged. This time probably wouldn't be all too different in that regard.
"It's a pretty noisy and crowded place," he added while placing his hands into his pockets. As for the potential eyescream outing after their arcade venture, he didn't say anything on it. He didn't mind it, but he couldn't eat too much of the stuff at once.
Seeing how everyone seemed to be pretty set, he started to walk on out. He knew the general direction of where they needed to go, but didn't really know the exact location of the arcade. The Reaper didn't really search for it and all.

"Ohhh, I've never been to an arcade until a few months ago," She nodded before smiling sheepishly, giggling, "School is, uh, teaching us more than just how to be scary, it seems..." Like how to have fun with video games, for example, "I'm not too familiar with the arcade either, but I'm sure we can think of something to do once we're there!" She had fun on her previous trips after all!
Lizzy was leading the group now; after all, it seemed to her like nobody else really knew about the arcade... It could be a learning experience for all of them!
"Arcade and then eye scream," She chuckled softly, "I think we're going to have fun today!" She was sure of it! And by the end of it, Shun will smile! He must! She walked pretty quickly, eager to start their day at the arcade. Before long, she stopped outside the entrance to their destination, a grin on her face; she could already hear the noise from inside despite the closed doors... It made her rather excited, actually, although she was wasn't looking forward to being bombarded by the colors and sounds.
"Everyone ready?" Her grin widened slightly as she pushed the glass doors to the arcade open, and the sounds became even louder; it was worse than prom, with its loud music and blacklights.

"Sure, I'm ready." Mitsu nodded making sure her mask was once again secure before following the group into town. It didn't take them long before they were finally outside the arcade. The lupine's ears twitched curiously at the noise within.
Looking to her three friends Mitsu wasn't sure what to make of the situation but she supposed if she could tolerate the noise at Prom she could handle this, right? As Lizzy pushed open the glass doors Mitsu turned toward Xiu and Shun before following the spider demon inside.
If Mitsu thought the noise was loud before it was ten times worse once they were passed the doors and within a room full of multiple machines of all kinds. So they were supposed to play games....but where to start? Did you play alone or in teams? Mitsu really had no idea and because of that she sort of stood in place like a lost lamb staring from game to game.

Well, of the four, Lizzy was the arcade expert! Xiu would leave the game decisions to her! When they neared the arcade itself, she couldn't help but balk a bit upon hearing just how loud it was. They were standing outside and she could already hear the cacophony of noises coming from within. Taking a deep breath, she trailed in after Lizzy and Mitsu, glancing over her shoulder quickly just to make sure that Shun was still right behind them.
The moment she stepped into the building, Xiu's eyes widened. This place was so loud! There were sounds and music from all the machines that littered the room, along with an array of colors and flashing lights. The Baku scanned their surroundings silently for a moment before she grinned, tail waving eagerly behind her. "This place looks like fun!" She said, speaking up so that her friends could hear her over all the noise.
It was rather dark in here though, wasn't it? Reaching out, she took Lizzy's hand in one of hers, and Mitsu's in the other. "Don't want to get lost," She explained, even though it wasn't really that dark. Still, she was sure it would be easy to get separated between all the machines and the other arcade-goers. "Someone needs to hold onto aniki."
Leaning close to her pink-haired friend, Xiu nodded towards all the games. "Umm, which do you suggest we try first?" What kind of game would a boil like Shun like?

On the way to the arcade, Shun was pretty silent. Though, once they arrived, he made a bit of a face at all the commotion that was going on inside. This was pretty much like the ones he saw back at home. There were just different patrons visiting it on a regular basis. Just giving one glance around, there wasn't anything in particular that was catching his attention.
"I suppose," he said towards Lizzy before glancing to Xiu. Did she really think that he'd get lost?
"I'm not going to get lost," He said quietly, his voice almost inaudible over the noises of the scarecade.
So rather than offering his hand to anyone, he just kept his inside his pockets. The Reaper saw no need for the whole group to be clinging onto one another.

"I don't want the group to get separated," She nodded, "So I say we should hold hands..." Looking at Shun, she frowned and then sighed, her own hand tightening around Xiu's as she smiled sheepishly, "Fine, but please keep close...?" It would be bad if they end up spending more time looking for each other than playing games! Speaking of which...
She looked around, eyeing the machines; she hadn't tried most of them, and she wasn't sure of her friends' preference in games... Would they prefer a shooting game? A ball toss one? Maybe DDR? Or even the UFO catcher... Then again, even among the different 'types' of games, there were different machines, each with a different gameplay... She looked from one machine, looking increasingly confused before she finally decided on one they could all play together.
"The racing game! Skario... Kart?" She pointed at a roll of four machines, each with a screen and a seat in front of the screen, together with a steering wheel; she had seen others do something called a 'link play' before, even if she had never tried it herself, "Let's try that...?"
